Thank you so much for this tutorial! I never got the “I can braid” gene and was never taught. This tutorial was SO HELPFUL. For anyone else struggling, I suggest blocking off some time, maybe just an hour or two and just trying. Most of us know what it’s like to plait hair, but the pickup/add in is where we lose it. Just try a couple attempts at a FULL BRAID (that’s where I messed up because I would quit 1/4 of the way through). That will get your hands comfortable with the motion. It might not be pretty or as tight as you want it, but you’ll get familiar with the feeling of gripping your hair, if you are more comfortable dealing with slightly damp or dry hair, and how much/little hair you feel comfortable trying to manipulate! For me, it’s most helpful when my hair is stretched for now. Good luck! I’ve been doing decently at it for a couple weeks. It gets better every time! You got this!

Hey curly friends. You may think that this is really hard , especially if you’re influenced by all the struggling commenters, but trust me it’s so easy if you just go really slow. I got it on my first try because I did it slow. And even if you don’t get it at first you will definitely get it eventually, just keep trying💕

This is actually the only true beginner tutorial that worked for me. I have absolutely no experience braiding against my scalp- I've only braided the ends of my hair. Other beginner tutorials start out by braiding straight back, which does exactly that, braid against the scalp. This makes it harder to learn the actual technique of the braid if you're an actual beginner since you're tackling both skills at once. This tutorial is an easy introduction to braiding against the scalp since it approaches it from the side, which is how I typically braid my hair. The angle was familiar, which made the technique easier to pick up. Thank you for living up to the beginner title!

This is hands down the BEST braiding tutorial I’ve EVER watched. I always would start with the right strand going under the middle, but I see you do it over the middle. Doing it over provides a way tighter, neater braid. Now, I just have to work on adding hair to my braid. Thank you!

Practice with string a bunch. That's how I learned to braid when I was kid. Then practice with hair. Just remember smaller pieces of hair, start at the root not the end, and stretch/pull as you braid/plait.

hey so imma guy and of course I'm new to this "doing hair" I love to see my beautiful sistas on here but I'm sorry sweetheart you kinda hafto slow it down a bit. I mean the actual speed is cool but u got a lotta choppiness in ur editing and I can't tell what's going on. how do u start with 3 strands and then it cuts to a new frame and somehow u have more hair in ur hand? That's the part I don't get. i can do plat braids fine but I don't get how to make em stick to ur head . Don't laugh im new to this. 😬 I can cut a mans head like no other but all this parting and detangling whatnot..... its all German to me.
@taylorcimone63848 жыл бұрын
so you would part your hair into a medium section then separate that part into 3 separated parts. then you would have in your hand 3 braids one would be on the right side left side and middle so first depending on what side your one you would take your left and put that in front of your middle then your left would cross over to the right side then taking your right parted piece you would cross that over to your right side then taking your new left piece which would have been your old middle piece starting all over again..

@Rayann4105 жыл бұрын
braids help you to keep your hands out of your hair allowing it to grow and not break off from so much manipulation. so in a sense yes! you'll see more length retention but your hair will still grow at its normal rate. hope that helps!😊
@anthonyvalenzuela955 жыл бұрын
@@Rayann410 I do touch it everyday when I need to moisturize it, scratch it when it itches, hair sticks out and I've kept for 3 weeks. Is that bad, should I take them off when it's since I've reached that time or just leave it on longer
@anthonyvalenzuela955 жыл бұрын
@@Rayann410 I really hope all of that is not a red flag because I've had plateau with my medium length hair for almost 4 years and I really want my hair to get past that plateau and people say "leave it alone", moisturize it everyday" etc so I don't know what I should do.
