I called LG tech support and the guy told me that the next firmware update will have native 1440p @60Hz. All the 2019 OLED TVs will follow the UM7300.

I have the same LG OLED. I hadn't noticed it was 1080p, but I did notice smoother edges and overall better graphics on my Switch with the mClassic attached. With my PS4 Pro and XB1X I get 2160p on that TV. I'm curious why the TV doesn't recognize 1440p.

@@V1C10US I can't see any improvements on my lg oled. I move my head close to tv but can't see what's change. I can see from 480/720 to 1080, but when I comparing this results to direct 1080p signal from switch, there no difference. 1080p scaled from 720p with mclassic same like 1080p without mclassic. I think it's because lg oled do his own upscaling for 4k. In this case mclassic is useless for lg oled owners, tv can do all "innovations" without any adapters.

I own the LG C9 and it doesn't have native support for 1440p @ 60Hz. The only thing we can do is contact LG and tell them to update it to have native 1440p @ 60Hz with a firmware update.

Go to youtuber channel "TheOnlyTwitch.R6" as he uses two MClassic devices directly connected to each other and his claim and videos show the processing will clean up the already processed signal from the first MClassic to further improve the clarity. I think it would be interesting to see what is the maximum number of MClassic devices that can be directly connected to each other for the maximum image enhancement before the processing begins to distort the image in unnatural ways.

I'm unlucky, I have a 1440p UW monitor, works for PC 1440p or 1440p UW, mclassic can only do 1080p either 720p upscaled (looks yuk) or 1080p. It's a real shame I just spent, well $160AUD and an hour or so this morning moving my switch to my PC monitor, but no joy, have tried all 3 switches, realise it's just the middle option, toggling between that and off, and the mcassic refuses to send 1440p to my monitor.

Hey there! We only support a 2560x1440p (16:9) monitor, not 3440x1440p (21:9). It is because a 21:9 1440p monitor, does not include 2560x1440p resolution in their EDID. Hope this helps!

unfortunately, my Lg Oled65C7 dont work with this trick. And i dont understand after ur video, you show to us thats ALL LG can force 1440p, or just rightmost LG model? Agree. They now talk to us something "lg is bad, they don't support 1440p natively, that's not our fault". Okay, but where was any warning about this when you selling ur product to backers? I mean, something like: note - your TV must natively support 1440p for full experience with our mclassic, even you have 4k ". Is it hard? I think you should release update/fix if it possible from software side. How about" fake 4k" for example, like all consoles do. Because now ur policy looking like money stealing for mediocre product. Gameplay and video don't work exactly the same. Not all TVs and monitors natively support 1440p, all the mClassic does is respect the EDID of the TV. 1440p is currently there for those who have it and for the future as the resolution becomes more widely available. As TVs get better, the mClassic will be right there to get better with them.

The real problem with this device and this company is the false advertising. This product is advertised as something that it absolutely cannot do under any of the circumstances consumers would actually want it to function. It's effectively worthless for game upscaling on any normal TV, since almost none support 1440p. 4K upscaling only happens if your content is low framerate. This video ONLY exists because this company misled all of its customers with its advertising.

Basically, I know what the problem is, and let me explain: the mclassic upscales the output resolution to 2k, 1440p. Not 4k, which is 2160p. Most 4k TV's edid switch only recognizes 1080p and 2160p output signals. Monitors on the other hand can recognize 1440p and any resolution. Which is why the mclassic won't upscale to 1440p on your average 4k tv. However, the mclassic adds superb anti aliasing when switched on. Your 4k tv is already doing the upscaling job to a extent, you'll still get better image quality on 4k tv with the mclassic. However if you really want to get the most out of its 1440p feature, you'll have to get a monitor that can do 1440p or a tv that can natively support it(extremely rare, doubt you can easily find one today). I hope that helps

If you have a TV you know will support 1440p, like the LG C1 or CX, you can buy a 2k EDID emulator and put it between the mclassic and the HDMI cable to your TV. That will trick or force the TV to display 1440p properly. I can't link it here or the comment will get deleted but just search for "EVanlak 2k EDID emulator".

Question: Should the console be set to RGB Full or RGB Limited for use with mClassic? Edit: After much testing with various devices and settings I can definitely say that if sending and RGB signal to the mClassic it must be LIMITED not Full range. If you use Full RGB then the mClassic will crush blacks making games too dark.

I'm currently using an evanlak 4k edid emulator with my mclassic to force 1440p on my TV that doesn't natively display it. It works well with my nintendo switch and xbox 360, however, when I use them both with my gamecube or ps3, I only get either no signal or just a black screen. Any explanation for why this might be?

From what I understand, the edid emulator sort of eliminates any kind of incompatibility issues between your display and your source. I suppose being that 1440p is the highest possible resolution the mclassic can upscale to, pairing that with the edid emulator is how you would achieve this, as long as your tv can display 1440p. Let me know if you end up trying it, still no luck with the cube or ps3.

For PS3 you need an HDCP Stripper. I figured it out by plugging it into my PS4 and disabling HDCP. Put the EDID on the Output slot then plug the HDMI into it then the TV. It should work. The HDCP stripper I used is called ViewHD 1x2. Make sure you're checking the reviews to make sure people are mentioning PS3/4.

You may want to check this site (www.rtings.com/tv/tools/table/96008) to see if your TV natively support 1440p input resolution. If your TV does not support 1440p, any EDID emulator won't work.

Dart Vega I have the exact same setup. EXCEPT, I have a powered hdmi splitter. My hdmi run is about 25’ and without the splitter I get a grainy signal which will cut in an out. Maybe shorten the hdmi length or add a powered splitter which helps the signal reach further although they aren’t advertised as doing so. Cost about $13 for a 1080p splitter.

I'm very disappointed. I finally have my mclassic but it does not work properly in my lg 4k tv (model 50uk6510psf). I can only output in 1080p, even enabling the deep color option it won't output 1440p. Videos I managed to output 4k but saw no difference. If you don't have the perfect set to make it work it is worthless and that was really misleading.

It's not misleading at all. Your TV just doesnt support 1440p, should have looked into that first on rtings for supported resolutions.

So, for my lg86un85006la TV an edit emulator did the trick for the ps3, sweet 1440p. But sadly there is no way to achieve that on ps5. No matter what, as soon as an edid emulator is connected the ps5 only puts out stereo 2.0 sound and nothing else. There are many games on ps5 which are native 1080p, but no way to get 1440p and surround sound. You have to choose, which is unfortunate.

Which TV do you have exactly? I have the Q9FN and I only csn get 1080p. On Rtings they said that all the Q-Series after 2018 have native 1440p and 60Hz. My Q9FN has 1440p but only with 120Hz. I don't understand that :(

sadly i had to return my Mclassic because my samsung Q80T 4k tv dident liked the 1440 p signal that the Mclassic was outputting. it maked the screen flicker on and of every few seconds. Sadly nothing worked to fix the problem. So i hope there will be in the future a version of the Mclassic that scales the resolution up all the way to 4k 60hz. because i see the potentional it has because the device itself is an awesome addition to upscale the resolution from older consoles like my OG xbox.

With my LG Oled CX I cannot see any difference... And the output is always 1080p with any kind of setting.

Even if your TV does not support 1440p, the 1080p you would get out of the mClassic is still an enhanced version. It includes the other benefits of the mClassic such as Contextual Anti-Aliasing (CxAA), selective image sharpening, color enhancement, shimmering reduction, improved depth of field. Hope this helps!

Your tv does not support 1440p, just checked on rtings. Very few 4k tvs support 1440p@60hz which is why EVERYONE on the comment section is having trouble

Just got a 4k TV that says it supports 1440p, but the mClassic is still outputting 1080p. Like the LG in the last part of the video, clearly it’s not supported by default. Problem is, it’s not an LG TV, so this “enable deep color” instruction doesn’t really get me anywhere. The brand of my TV is Hisense and it’s using the Android TV interface. How to I “enable” 1440p with the mClassic on that interface? I’ve tried setting HDMI 2.0 to “Enhanced Format” (needed for PS4 4K+HDR). No dice, still 1080p. I’ve tried setting Color Space” Native”. No dice, still 1080p. Not much else to try. Without a firmware update, I might be stuck with 1080p… a hardware switch would have been nice…

I am worried about that coment "some OLED TV do not allow to upscale switch resolution to 1440p...so It can be always on 1080p And Being honest.... The main and BEST feature of M-classic cable is The upscaling ..., Antialiasing and better color etc is great, but if The image continues in 1080p... Hola crack. Soy el del video de Jacobo. Por lo que estuve viendo, los TVs LG no suelen ser compatibles con 1440p. Me respondieron los de LG y me dijeron que no podian asegurar su correcto funcionamiento. Mi TV es 43UJ6560. No encontre si el mio es compatible o no, pero si encontre muchos modelos distintos y solo 1 es compatible, que es el del video este. Creo que era UM algo… Por cierto, teniendo en cuenta que posiblemente nuestros TVs no soporten el 1440p, tenes pensado comprar el mClassic de igual forma? Yo estoy con muchas dudas ya que opino lo mismo que vos. Siento que lo que justifica el precio es el reescalado y, teniendo en cuento que vos lo queres para Switch y yo para PS3, no creo que valga la pena solo por el Antialising. Parece que lograr los 1440p en una switch con el M-classic es una leyenda... Una utopía... Hay un KZbinr que tiene una LG CX y me dijo que probaria activar el deep colour y modo pc a ver si consigue los 1440p, sigo esperando la respuesta también de atención al cliente de marseille, que ni siquiera sé si responderán... Total , mi gozo en un pozo. Si Amazon vendiese el M-classic lo probaría en mi CX y saldría de dudas. Pero como no conozco a nadie que tenga CX/M-classic Pues a otra cosa.... Ojalá algún día alguien saque un cable que de verdad siquiera de los 1440p, ya no digo 4K. Lo ideal sería que Nintendo de una maldita vez lance una Switch pro o switch 4k, ... Un Dock con el chip que traía la Xbox One S del 2013 , podría rescalar todo a 4K sin problema. Que en 2021 a 2022 sigamos suspirando por quitar dientes de sierra y sudar sangre para conseguir los 2K en Switch (dispuestos a gastar 90€ en un cable si con ello ) lo dice todo. Lamentable Si algún día te enteras de algo o me entero yo, te diré por aquí Gracias tío !!

Hey there! It does not matter what HDMI port you use. What matter is the frame rate of the source. mClassic upscales to 4K only when the source is 24 or 30Hz. It is great for movies! 😊

A little help here. Mclassic works great with upscaling, but my Samsung TV TU8300 constantly flickers and causes screen tearing and my wii u (when it's set to 480p) doesn't not show any image at all except when the resolution is set to 720p (still causes to flicker). Luckily my avermedia can passthrough and show the image in 1080p while preventing flicker or screen tearing. If I buy/use a hdmi switch to passthrough, would that prevent my screen from flickering and tearing?

I have an older Samsung 4K tv. All I've seen out of it is a 1080p signal. I MAY have a deep color option on it but I don't know if it'll work. I'll test it and see. If it doesn't work, I guess my TV just doesn't support 1440p.

There's a setting on my tv called "HDMI UHD Color" that I can turn on and off. I think that's Samsung's equivalent to HDMI Deep Color, but unfortunately turning it on and off has no effect on the resolution of the signal. Either my HDMI switch is interfering with it, or my Samsung 4KTV just doesn't support 1440p. I will try to upscale a normal blu-ray to 4K using the HDMI switch. If it works, that should eliminate the HDMI switch as a problem.

Update: Nope, my TV doesn't support 1440p. That's unfortunate. Still, the mClassic's improvements even over a 1080p signal is pretty drastic. I wonder if the mClassic could get improved software updates over the micro USB cable? Obviously I don't know how it works. Either way, for anyone who's curious about their own television, the website rtings.com is very exhaustive in their TV reviews and fully listed all the resolutions at different Hz speeds of my particular model TV, so maybe it will help others as well.

If you look at rtings supported resolutions, its only @ 120Hz. But AFAIK the Switch only supports 60Hz, and NU8000 doesnt support it. But the RU8000, as an example, does.
