Your hairtransplant looks greath! I just done my i was something like norewoood 3, crow and a hairline, around 2700 grafts, how much grafts can handle well averige donor area before becomes suspicius? I have a sleepless nights about that now😅

You've definitely given me something to think about. I I guess the debate is do you value more hair, or not having a visible scar (I'm aware that sometimes FUE scars are visible). With the FUT route, is there anything that can be done to mitigate the scarring?

You’re 100% right! As with everything, there are pros and cons. It’s up to you to decide what you would prefer. In terms of mitigating scarring, we use a trichophytic closure with FUT (where we overlap the hairs to cover as much of the scar as possible), we use scar micro pigmentation in those with darker hair which can be great in hiding scars, we sometimes do a little FUE into the scar to hide some of it and at the moment we are still trialling Verteporfin as a compound that has shown promise in reducing the appearance of FUT scars so far.

Would FUT only be better than a Combo surgery (FUT+FUE) in terms of numbers of grafts?

Very interesting study. Do you think there’s an importance to the order of each form of surgery? Could it make sense for a patient to choose the slightly less invasive FUE procedure first and return for FUT if further work is required in a less-than-ideal period of time?

Can we get an FUT after FUE surergy if the donnor area still dense ?

Great Q. I have previous videos discussing whether FUE can be performed before FUT. Your donor area should be ok to do FUT after a small FUE - maximum 1500 grafts. If any more is performed, there will be so little donor area left to hide the linear scar produced by the FUT plus the strip itself will contain so few grafts that there won’t be any point in doing one.

​@@DrParissis So if someone does FUE after FUT do they need to avoid the region above the FUT scar so that hair can continue to hide the scar? And could the surgeon who performs FUE first focus more on the region outside the FUT strip area in order to preserve that area for future FUT?
