My hair thickness is getting better after 2 months. I have to shave more often. I used to shave every other day now its every day. My arm hair is also getting slightly thicker. My eyebrows are coming in dark ( I am 67 and have white hair in my eyebrows as well as thinning in the eyebrows too. I am also on Finasteride. I am on 5MG Min.

I don’t understand the mechanism behind catch up hair loss after quitting finasteride. Like why is it that after say 10 years of finasteride, you suddenly lose the hair you would have lost over those 10 years within a year or 2

I started TRT and shortly before I started oral minoxidil - over the time I have gained some water weight, quickly, and thats kind of a known thing with TRT - but also just found out oral minoxidil does this too, so I'm like holy crap - no wonder I look like an oily balloon. I stopped the minoxidil 2 days ago now. I threw it out, not worth it tbh.

@DrParissis thank you for your response and apologies for the delay; I was away. For context, I am Norwood 5/6 and had a transplant to restore the hairline about 6 months ago. I opted for an FUT procedure after a lot of research and following the advice from this and other reputable surgeries to maximize lifetime yield. I am considering a second procedure to do the crown; however, it seems that with my density, the amount I can get from strip in a session is about 2,500 grafts. I will obviously go for a second FUT as I have the scar, but to get more grafts in one sitting and speed up the hair restoration process, I was thinking about a combined procedure, which I know a couple of Turkish clinics do. I've spoken to them and they (of course) say it's a really good idea and can be done for the reasons above, but I was just wondering if there are any disadvantages to doing this in a combined sitting, or if it is better to do a second FUT only and then do an FUE as a third procedure. If it doesn't make any difference, I may go for a combined procedure, as I would like a full head of hair while I'm young, and waiting to do a third or even fourth procedure to get the look I desire may take years. Apologies for the length, but any insight you have would be greatly appreciated!

Great video @DrParissis - do you have any thoughts on combined FUT + FUE surgery? I clinic I approached suggested this for me but didn't know if it was legit or not...thanks!
@DrParissis
@DrParissis 29 күн бұрын
Hello, great question - FUT + FUE in the same surgery can be done, but only if needed. It is usually only needed when FUT is limited by some factor, eg scalp laxity is low in the patient, or the strip needs to be shorter for various reasons and therefore less grafts taken in it , requiring FUE to harvest extra in the same session. I would be interested to know why this was recommended to you, usually it’s best (in terms of maximising lifetime grafts as well as maximising growth of grafts) to do as much FUT as possible first and later in life do FUE (in much fewer numbers) for minor touch ups and enhancements.

Since you are medical professional, I encourage you to investigate the potential connection between the RNA COVID-19 vaccine and hair loss/diffuse hair loss. While current research hasn't established a definitive link but there is something fishy about it marks my words, its not natural to have young teenagers both males and females to develop hair loss or balding in such numbers
