I decluttered and cleaned my entire house and it took almost a year and a half. It was done every tuesday for 1-2 hours hours per week. It was the only day I could do all this extra work. It worked and its done but now I am back to the beginning but it is so much easier cleaning now with so much stuff gone and so much deep- cleaning already done :)

@@ceciliavalencia7656 If you haven't watched KonMari then try it. I've done my and my fiance's room and it's great, now just casual daily cleaning because of dust and some dirty clothes, which takes around 10-15 minutes. I have some free time at work right now due to christmas and new year, so now I'm doing the kitchen. One drawer at a time and now only two left of entire kitchen! In just two days of working on it! It really sparks joy, when you see, that deep cleaning does something and makes you go further with it, even if you started with only 15 mins, bcoz you did not want to start. If you don't see any progress then probably you are not throwing out stuff you should (bcoz you are not using the stuff but still keeping it). Or maybe you could invest in some furniture, that makes it easier to keep stuff organized?

A list of the tips in this video (bc Lord knows I'll need them written down 😬) 1. Block your time 2. Schedule out tasks and to-do's 3. Break it down into J.O.B.s 4. Track your wins 5. Write things down 6. Track your progress 7. Work in sprints, not marathons 8. Set timers 9. Reward yourself 10. Find an accountability partner

I struggle with depression- it's just a natural part of my life that I've learned to manage. My biggest tip: whatever is your least favorite job on your to-do list, tackle that FIRST. Tackle it while your energy is highest, and once it's done, all the remaining jobs are no big deal
@Kpictures_NYC5 жыл бұрын
I hope you’re able to find a way to not be depressed since we all deserve to be happy. I know when I get depressed I try to exercise or go for a walk, take deep breaths, talk to someone or myself to figure out a way to move forward. I’m in no way saying I’m an expert but those things help me.

Love the timer idea! Hubby and I set a timer for 15 minutes tonight, and cleaned up 3x faster than we normally would. And by the end of it, he was telling me a story about how he got sonic the hedge hog candy as a kid one time that he pretended made him go super fast, and I started singing the "Gotta go fast!" Theme song as we cleaned. Way more fun than cleaning usually is. 🤣

Thank you for putting things like "got dressed instead of staying in pjs" or "made the bed today" in your wins list. I struggle with brushing my teeth every day, partly due to depression (which I am treating) and because I work from home. It's difficult for me to justify spending the time getting all dressed up, if I'm not leaving the house. But seeing that on your list was so ... uplifting, and it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who sees those as wins. (Using daily planning I've brushed my teeth at least once a day, every day since 1/1/21, which is a huge win.)

Two years ago in October I decided to do this as I'm a recovering self diagnosed hoarder. Very organized but too much stuff regardless. Did it in blocks, videoed myself doing it everyday for a month. It was amazing what else got declutterred and how my mindset has changed. I celebrated the two year anniversary by doing the same areas on video again. Get this over that time I've made over $5K by selling stuff, donated almost $2k worth of other things (clothes, craft supplies, building supplies, etc.) to daycares, schools, restore stores, and other stores that take donations, recycled over 100 gal. of papers, donated over 3500 books, and threw away so many pounds of garbage that I didn't keep track! I struggle with bouts of anxiety and depression, which can make staying motivated/ momming so hard 😫 these are three things that work for me: 1. Make a to do list for each day with 5 things MAX. On that list, I always include at least one thing I know I'm going to do no matter what (like take my son to preschool) so I can cross at least one thing off. Then I'll include one thing that is a stretch- on a good day, it might be cleaning out the closet, on a bad day, maybe it's just taking a shower. Prioritizing only 5 things (or less) a day really makes me look at what is most important, and I find I am way more likely to get all the things done, unlike when I made lists of 10+ things I would maybe cross off 2. 2. 5 minute productivity breaks. Usually that 5 min is all I need to get going and do 10+ more minutes, then I feel good about being an overachiever 😂 3. I've released myself of the responsibility of cleaning other family member's stuff. My husband does his own laundry and cleans up after himself; if he leaves his socks on the floor, I leave them there for him to deal with. I help my kids with laundry, but they are responsible for picking up their own toys, putting their own dishes in the sink, etc. If they haven't cleaned up their own stuff, I leave it 🤷🏻♀️ our home might be slightly messier while they are learning, but I'm not a maid and releasing myself from that role has been a HUGE help mentally. I love your videos, they have been so helpful to me as I've tried to find time and money management systems that work!

I like to think of it as a daily planner and then the block schedule is a habit planner. Like doing the same type of activities during the block. They might never be the same every day, but each activity falls into the same types.

I love the timer idea. I realized that I've already been doing everything in sprints w/out a timer. But stressing the whole while that I might not get it done. And if I didn't I'd be upset about. I realized also that I'm driving myself too hard as well because I'm usually doing 2 or more things at once. I will now try to also focus and think positively about what I have gotten done instead of stressing about what I might not get or haven't gotten done. When I actually think about it I really do accomplish a whole lot to be one person. But I never really give myself credit or a reward for it. Thanks so much!

The timer trick has helped me increase motivation and efficiency while cleaning! I have generally hated doing the dishes my whole life, so I made it a habit to let them stack up just to put off the chore as long as possible. When I would think about doing the dishes, I'd think, "Ugh, it's going to take SO long! I don't want to deal with this right now." Well, recently I challenged that perception by tracking how long it actually takes to do the work. At first when the kitchen was pretty trashed, it took me an hour or longer to get everything done. Now that I committed to getting all the dishes done and surfaces wiped down every day or every other day, I can be done in under 25 minutes! The task is wayyy more manageable now and I feel so proud to be on top of this longstanding issue! It has propeled my motivation and I've since tackled a lot of stuff around the house. 😀

One of my new year resolutions, is to stop being so lazy. I would often wonder why I wasn't able to get things done, well starting the day off playing games on my phone isn't a great start. Here's to getting more done in 2020!!

Yes! I've found that being on my phone, no matter what I'm doing on it, I spend waaaayyy too much time on it and my day feels wasted. Sometimes I'll turn my ringer up and just put it on the other side of the house so I'm not messing with it. 😂

The only way I have been able to motivate myself in the past is to picture what it would look like done and feel the satisfaction I could feel if I followed thru. Works most of the time for me. I love the ideas in this video too. Will definitely give them a go! Thank you!

January 1 I took down all of my Christmas stuff, cleaned the kitchen and floors, organized the pantry and tried to get my new year starting off fantastic. January 2 I tried to start eating keto and cleaning up my health. January 2 by 4 pm I was eating cheese and crackers, watching Netflix and pondering ordering in pizza for dinner. My motivation just FIZzleD right out. LOL Today is a new day! I can be DEDICATED. I know I can.

One thing that helps me as a farm mama of 6 is to "just do the next thing." I am excited to give block scheduling a try though!

To get motivated, I sometimes just need to get out of my head. Laying in bead, I think, I can just turn over and sleep, instead, I blank my mind to operate on automatic and just get up. I stop the voices saying just a little more sleep or I don’t want to, I deserve this, I need this etc etc. If I have to I just chant in my head one word directions, up up up then shower shower shower, dry dry dry, on and on till I’m in the rhythm. Usually the night before I plan my day in the order that is most efficient and effective. So it’s easy to say the one word over and over. One of my favorite ideas is yours- have a dance party while you work. Love it. I might listen to music but not dance. But a little cha cha in your step ups those happy endorphins.

I love this video and have watched it a few times already. Each time a different tip jumps out. I think this time I need to do the timers. Rather than looking at the whole task and being overwhelmed, I need to set a timer so the "end" is more visible/achievable. Help me to get those focus boosts started.

This video had me holding back tears because I’m so lost being a new wife and now mommy to be. I literally feel like 10 steps behind on everything and it’s honestly making me feel sick. I walk into my home and I really do feel sick - it’s not a happy place because I can’t keep up with it. So I’m going to try so hard to keep dedicated. I want a system and a home I can keep up with before our first baby arrives.

I really hope you are doing better now! Sometimes we have these expectations of ourselves - for example an idea of what kind of wife we want to be. Then, when it doesn't turn out so easy and we are different from how we thought we would be, there can be so much disappointment. And especially with a baby on the way I too have been feeling the pressure of being better than I have been. I'm assume your little one is already here - and that has probably changed things up quite a bit too. So all the best to you - and me and all the people out there!! Lots of love and strength from Austria!

poechristhemfitz thank you, that was very sweet. I am doing much better. I created a few systems for my home and worked hard to make them a habit. My house is back to being a mess with my baby boy being so new (6 weeks yesterday 😊) but thanks to these systems that I learned to create because of Jordan Page, I’m kind of just accepting the mess while he’s so little because I know I have those systems when I can find the time to get back to those chores. :)

My first pregnancy was twins, and I was strangely extra productive after, but I realize now it was because I had inadvertently block-scheduled my life around their nursing schedule😅 Every “struggle” is a chance to get sharper and more focused. I can’t wait to see how you thrive and grow with the new twins💕

Hi Jordan! Happy New Year! Would love to see a video on how you keep the kids entertained while you are being productive. How often do you allow them to use screen time? What do you give them to keep busy and learn?

For me...not changing into something more comfortable when I get home from work (which is also nice for the hubby). And I never take my shoes off inside the house. Not everyone will like it, but it helps me to keep moving and stay active. If I take my shoes off, my feet are going on the couch...much harder to find motivation from lying on the couch 😬 Great video Jordan! Xxx from Amsterdam

I definitely do the timer trick! It’s amazing what you can do in 15 minutes...then what happens is that that momentum creates motivation and it makes me want to tackle another area for 15 minutes.
