Nagging hardly works, ever.. but never expressing your own needs and hopes won't help either. If the man is not interested (enough), then.. all the attention in the world will not change his mind. It has to be a mutual strong desire to be connected..

I've realized that if you give your partner reasons that make them want to do what you are looking for, only then they actually do it. So for example, if you want to see them often then asking wont work. But if the time you 2 spent together is really enjoyable, then they will automatically want to have more of it.

I disappeared. I felt so dejected that I thought “I go my way” ( I didn’t even pushed too hard because I was constantly afraid to bother them and be discarded) only to find out, months later, that they wanted to stay with me in a committed way but they pulled the card of the difficult task only to feel less insecure. The result of this brilliant strategy of theirs was that I let go and stopped being interested in them. It happened with 2 people. They would have liked to give an other try to the relationship but I felt too humiliated so I just said “no”.

It's a common thing, nowadays. Most people aren't pulling away because of seeing someone else. They're pulling away because they feel insecure as hell, they are too soft and were raised to not be able to tolerate uncomfortable things, and as a result, they take the easy way out and road less travelled.

Notes: Your energy and dating. What do I want to happen in this relationship? Have you been applying pressure? Are you needing assistance? Humans do not respond well to being pushed. Watch what does work. Do not nag. Express yourself. Find another door. humor, letting go, make fun of it, appreciation on other things, stand back and see what else you could do ..try another angle, break your pattern... your shift will create a partner shift. Use a different angle.

This is great information for those who still want the other person after numerous attempts have failed. Me, myself? If someone seems uninterested or doesn't want to give effort, I go mute, lose interest and move on. That's when the guy tries to come back, but it's too little too late and then I'm labeled as "cold" or "stubborn" when the issue is that I don't want to beg for something that the other person doesn't want to give.

Towards the end of this a thought shot through my head: My wife has never understood the more she nags me to fix this or that around the house, the less I am actually likely to do it. When she finally shuts up, I usually have it fixed within two days. To the ladies out there watching this, tell your hubby do do something no more than twice and never say it twice in the same day. He is not lazy and he is not stupid, he just doesn't want to feel like he is giving into the nagging. It is a matter of self-respect. "Pushing builds resistance." That is good advice.
@RHammer1983
@RHammer1983 3 жыл бұрын
This works like a charm. We always use resentment to point fingers when really it’s the energy we’re giving off and the reactions we’re having that makes that person not trust you to come back. Then they do when you change your approach.

This is really good advice, because not only does it apply to dating, but to your life in general as well. When you are unhappy with a situation, whether it is work or with a friend or anything really, it's all about YOU being the change you want to see. Getting a new perspective, taking a new approach, trying something different is often the key to problem solving!
@caroh2809

This is so true. If you keep doing the same thing expect the same result. I had the exact same experience as your friend. I was pushing for his attention and he was overwhelmed and deploying limitations left, right and centre. In the end I backed off through simply giving up more than anything. All of a sudden he was keeping dates in his diary free for me whether I could make them or not, he became much more emotionally invested in the time we did spend together, tried to please me in every which way. Everything I’d wanted. It was simply a matter of letting him make the choice for himself. He’s not easy to get the attention of - even now I still have issues but I have definitely learnt that putting pressure on definitely, as you say, created resistance. In the end every step forward in our relationship began with me wanting it first, him showing a ‘no’, me giving up, him doing it all by himself. So I 100% agree. I knew this would be a great video 😉 xx

Caro H so glad this worked for you . When I tried everything possible to affect change with my ex partner well nothing changed . Then I tried to accept what I didn’t like , things that hurt me but I wasn’t able to accept what went against the grain of what I needed . He assumed I had resolved my displeasure of his behaviour and kept doing it . Well I hadn’t , I tried to come to terms with it . I could not . I knew even more I was with the wrong man . My needs were unmet and would remain so.
@caroh2809

Older Women Rock I agree that there felt like there was an element of compromising my needs at first but I was lucky in that he responded favourably. That’s not to say we don’t have issues still but I think it does give credence to Susan’s theory of ‘if you aren’t getting results change what you’re doing’. In some instances it’s not going to make the difference. When I changed things up I was all but giving up and looking for a way to let go with the least amount of pain for myself. So I guess what transpired felt miraculous. In so many situations it’s true to say that we need to look at what we’re doing rather than expecting the situation to change and sometimes that is walking away. And that takes a lot of strength so well done you! 😘

Crazy thing is I only had one foot in too and wasn’t in love yet I still needed a certain amount of attention and consideration . Anyway glad it worked out for you .

There's someone in my life whom I've been getting to know, and to whom I've been wanting to get closer. We both are mindful of this. He once said he's much more likely to open up to children than adults. When asked why, he explained that "children don't try". That was an "aha!" moment for me. He didn't seem to like all my **efforts** to get to know him, which explains why he had been resistant for quite sometime. He doesn't like Q&As. He prefers an organic, natural connection where the person doesn't "try"...at all. Mind you, it does take much effort to not "try", especially when you're a person who is used to doing, and especially when you're aching to get closer to someone, and don't want to have to wait long for that to happen.

This will only work if the partner is not ultimately opposed to actually being with you and ultimately working on a future with you...even if they're not fully aware they are yet! They need to be progressing in the relationship and having enough level of commitment to be open to a change of tactic or laying off of pressure.

Hi , thank you for your video! My ex & I were together for 1 1/2 yrs & he started detaching in the last 6 months. We have been in no contact since last November so almost 6 months. I had told him I would support him & be his friend until we were able to rebuild our relationship because he was telling me he couldn’t give me what I needed or deserved.I got needy & clingy. There was a woman who had a crush on him & he told me they went on a date before he met me but it ended up being a play date with their kids. Last July when we were still together he was caught at the playground by a mutual friend of ours having takeout dinner with her at the picnic tables. They had different takeout dinners & he claimed that they met there by coincidence-she took her 7 year old son there to play & he took his 16 year old son there to do Pokémoning. When I found call logs to & from her on his phone, he told me he didn’t even like her or respect her & wanted nothing to do with her. He told this to mutual friends as well. Just saw your other video on how that is a sign that they are on the opposite end of the pendulum & that they are indeed interested but they’re not sure what to do with it. He is now with her, I believe they are boyfriend & girlfriend & I see them around town often. In November, a friend of mine saw them kissing in the parking lot where she works. We were established as only friends at that point. I texted him that he was seen kissing her & he texted back “ok, I was there”. I then texted him, “do you love me yes or no “he responded “farewell no”. Six months out & I am in so much pain still. I know this is a quick glimpse of my situation & there’s so much more-like how when I told him in the summer you’re not prioritizing me & I broke up with him in a push pull dynamic, we came back together then I broke up with him again & we came back together again then he did the breaking up & coming back. After my initial break up in August there were emotionally intense, not sexual, messages to another female friend of his. Things that said I’m tired from work I wish I could snuggle with you I would sleep for days &” we have a friendship and love to never be forgotten.” I also found messages to other women on Instagram & Facebook messenger that said the same phrases that he said to me such as “good morning beautiful, thinking of you, you’re amazing”. He needs validation because of his attachment traumas & his low self-esteem, I understand this. He was sincerely apologetic & said he I had given him a lot to think about and work on within himself but then he just jumped into this relationship with the one he’s with now. Am I crazy? Am I stupid? I’m still pulling for a miracle here. Thank you for any feedback you’re able to give 🙏🏻~Nicole

This question is somewhat in the same arena. Felt one of those fabulous connectionns that only happens once , maybe twice in a lifetime with a lady. Over the next several months our conversations would go on endlessly when I saw her at the gym. We had so much in common it was amazing. The other day we started talking about a program I am a contractor in for an agency of the govt. It involves a little known and under publicized principle of remote viewing. In essence it allows one to project into the future or find answers to things that the tasker may inquire about; some might liken it to having ESP but it is a scientific process. In short she kept badgering me for an answer to a question she had. I already knew the question as I was unfortunately born with the psychic gift as well. I made the mistake of answering her question without her directly asking and it must have literally "obliterated" her world as the next day she informed me she was being transferred to a neighboring city by her employer and this would be her last day at this city. From this point on our conversations were pointed and lost its magic. The look in her eyes seemed to disappear .

What about if someone is giving you mixed signals (could potentially be biased because I like this person) being told that he hopes I find someone, but also that he misses me, calling and messaging me daily, messaging me "sweet dreams" (only if I message it first). So confused :( Anyone's opinion on this would be great.

I would only do that if I was interested. I would suggest letting him know you do like him if there's any doubt. He may be playing safe, saying he hopes you find someone to avoid embarrassing himself.

Yes, and then you have a highly selfish person who wants you fron time to time, when she wants it, and she wants a human dog thats gonna chase after her. She says well its the way it is... Take it or leave it... I know i should leave... I know i just need to give up, i know its not worth it... The issue is if i give up she is gone for good. She wants to be in control and thats it. The problem is i dont want to let her go... But i have to, I've been pushing that relationship forward and then it blew up in my face when she said well this is not what i want... Your advice is good when you have a mature, stable person who thinks whit a straight head. But for me, that's not the case. Cuz the second i stopped pushing i saw her pull away and away until she broke up the engagement

What If you have tried a lot of things, but you still get no response after a month? I keep hearing 'no contact' so they miss you, but that seems counter-intuitive. I also realize writing this that I probably know the answer already, but i feel she is worth fighting for.

As a woman I would say that show her that you care, and are there for her if she wants to connect, but do not get over her boundaries.. if she is not interested, then that needs to be respected.

@@NarnianLady Thank you for the response. I have tried the apology text for losing my cool which lead to the silence. I greeted her on Valentine's day. I wrote a romantic letter that was loving, Lastly, I sent flowers yesterday, and no responses at all in a month's time. Do these things show care and that I am there from a woman's view?
@NarnianLady
@NarnianLady 5 жыл бұрын
@@nathanarnold550 It's hard to say as it depends on the woman. You know her, I don't.. but in your place, I would back off and just let her be. Allow her to have enough space to breathe. Let her contact you, if she so chooses. More often than not, very grandiose gestures can come across as smothering and that is the last thing you want..

Man....writing love letters and sending flowers doesn't work. It looks cool in the movies but in real life, they don't like it unless you have been in a long term SERIOUS relationship then maybe. But never write love letters or send a person flowers again. You lose a lot of points from it. You be better off giving them a half eaten Reece's and say here's a gift for you
