Such realism in this video! It's nice to know I'm not the only one.. haven't been back to my island in a couple of months- only to check in with villagers. I tend to avoid when things feel overwhelming lol

this video actually helped me back in the beggining of the game, ty!!

This "just start doing something" is also the biggest advice I would give. When I want to decorate an area I get some items which I like or fit the style and then I just place them randomly. Most of the time I get a surprisingly good result^^

Cord, honestly, this could not have come at a better time. Revamping everything for spring/summer ( feel like I missed it last year, got in right after cherry blossom season and missed all the beautiful spring DIY's) and my inventory is full while I struggle to move everything and get ready for the Spring/Summer season. I know everyone that has been playing the game for a while goes through this, but knowing the struggle is real and hearing your realistic advice, is priceless! Thanks you so much for this video!! You and your island are a huge inspiration.

YES the tip about just putting shit down and doing something is probably the best imo, I flattened my island like 6 months ago (WORST decision ever) and it's still mostly flat because it's so overwhelming 😅 so I just have to force myself to do SOMETHING lol!

Hey Cord what's up? You know how people say music is their anti-drug, or art, or reading, or movies, etc. etc.? Well music is definitely my anti-drug but so are your videos. Whenever I feel depressed, anxious, or just have the blahs, your videos perk me right up and put me in a much better mood. I'm Team ACNH; I'm looking forward to new videos and even re-watch the old ones. Cord you are the man... man. 👊🏻💥 (fist bump explosion hehe)

Oh man this is 100% me. I got the game shortly after launch last year and played it nonstop. By October, only 1/3 of my island was really done and it looked like shit. It was so draining. I’m not creative at all and watching idea videos seems like a good idea but it’s so overwhelming. I am currently trying to get back into it after not playing since October and I just have no clue how to do what I want.

When I'm stuck, I usually have two things in mind, what's the purpose of the area I'm making, and what's the general direction for flow of traffic? So I ask is it used for practical use, aesthetics, or a perspective view? Does the traffic go one or both ways? Will the path goes along the side or cuts through the space? Is it heavy every day traffic for normal play or side exploration in a smaller section? This way, I figure out a design based on the "solution" I'm trying to find while taking into account decor etc I have in mind.

When I first started playing the game almost a year ago I looked back on some screen shots on the map and what my island looks like now. It was very basic because I didn't have many recipes and didn't know how to fully take control of terraforming and path designs. Now that I know how to draw my own designs and shaping the land I know what ideas can be created. I agree not knowing what to do can make you stop playing the game. I only just started using jail bars and hedges. What a difference it made to my forest cottage theme. I learnt this from watching lots of KZbin videos and has inspired me so much it really helps. The most important thing is enjoying and not rushing the game and your island will look like the amazing ones on KZbin. Some tips when you use nook miles tickets the cedar trees can be dug up and brought back home a faster way of getting them instead of growing them over 4 days. Something I only just discovered. Carry a work station then you can make things wherever you want. Use an invisible floor tile to prevent flowers from over growing into areas you don't want them to be in.

Cord, this is so great! I do all of this stuff and I’m still stuck in a few areas. Lol 😂 Sometimes I just do the maintenance stuff, saving bells, so when I do have an idea I can go full steam ahead. At least, that’s my theory! I would like to see some island tours as your islands look so different from your last videos. Thank you! 💜

One thing I do when I get stuck is go to Harv’s island. Designing a random room completely different from what I’m currently working on gives me the break I usually need. Plus having access to everything in my catalog usually gives me ideas.

My main tip would be to explore dream suites, check the ACNH reddit or ACNH Instagram pages for ideas. It's not a bad thing to get inspired by other people's islands. There's also some wonderful ACNH creators here on YT who have design videos. Besides Cord, there's also NintenTalk, Nintendo Gurus (RIP Bobby), Console Caito, Holly Crossing, and Poke Crossing. LOTS of inspiration!
