I love that you live a normal life - not counting macros, weighing out foods, skip a few gym days when busy. It's just so relatable and it makes me so happy to know goals still can be achieved whilst living a normal life. Thanks so much for your inspiration. Always looking forward to your next videos

The only thing that makes you look bulky, is excess fat and fat over muscle you've built. Yes definitely eat food that is going to benefit you health wise, but eating unhealthy will not make you bulky, eating too much of anything and being in a caloric surplus will make you bulky. That being said I do enjoy Sarah's videos since I find her to be a fun person ❤️
@Blueeyesinthesky4 жыл бұрын
Gotta also make sure to do more cardio if noticing this problem. Based on your body type, you either gotta do more or less cardio then other types. So if your gaining muscle under fat but the fat isn’t going away, you gotta add more cardio to your routine and maybe do less weight lifting and more yoga, Pilates, etc.

Hey! I'm what you would call "bulky" then, but I'm strong and healthier and leaner than I've ever been. With abs. And I love my body. Bulky isn't a scary negative side effect. It's my body type. And I'm proud of what my body is capable of in its "bulky" state. So...
@hippiesippie10187 жыл бұрын
I love your videos and your view on food. It was so nice to find someone who literally eats the same exact way as me! Keep it up. I just find buzzwords like "lean" and "toned" can be quite misleading because lean for me is completely different than it is for you and every other individual. I'm "lean" at 135-140lbs, while you are lean at what maybe is around 110-115?

Stephanie Nelson embrace it. Learn to love it. Move towards loving your body for what it looks like but also for what it can do. In terms of not being satisfied with how weightlifting is transforming your body, decide on what is more important to you. Is it being able to clean and jerk more or is bodybuilding more of your priority? Just comparing pics of Olympic lifters next to fitness models, you'll see a huge difference :)
@jessicawang65277 жыл бұрын
I feel like most of Sarah's leanness is from stopping the calorie restriction IIFYM and eating a diet that's super clean and agrees with her body. And she does a lot more HIIT now. she'd probably look just as lean if she continued to lift on top of the HIIT.

Another awesome video :) before injury/moving on to other things I was a PT and female clients were always afraid of getting "bulky" and really it's so hard to do as a woman, we just don't have the same hormones and response to exercise as men that would allow us to get to a massive chunk level outside of those few who do actually dedicate serious time and supplements towards that crossfit/power lifting life. That said I think you gave the perfect advice about mixing it up - HIIT is 100% the best form of exercise and variety is the spice of life! Now going full mum mode - go to your herbalist and have them make you a night time sleep mix. There are herbs that can help your body to create more of it's own melatonin (the sleep hormone - I'm sure you already know this), and other herbs that are amazing relaxants and have a sedative effect too. If cortisol is an issue for you like it is for me too then no doubt it's playing up with your poor sleep at the moment. Such an important and exciting time in your life though and hopefully when you have less on your plate it all balances out again naturally :) love mum xx haha

Thank you! Now I know why I turned into a huge puffy marshmallow and couldn't fit into my clothes from working out! I was going to the gym with a friend a following his exercise routine, lifting weights. It makes total sense in hindsight, but at the time I had no idea why it was happening to me, neither did he. I gave up and stopped going to the gym, because I felt like it was making me fat, and he kept telling me to just persevere and stick with it. I felt like a crazy person, anytime I tried to explain or talk about what happened, and why I stopped going to the gym. I'm petite like you, and he's very tall, and very muscular guy.

Hi Sarah! I just want to say I love your channel so much and this is probably the first comment I've made on youtube ever. You're such an inspiration and you truly are my fitness goals. I've been trying to lose weight but have been stuck for months after losing 20 lbs. A few days ago, after reading articles about plateauing, I got the idea to start counting calories which I HATE. I, like you, cook a lot of my meals so to calorie count I would mean I have to input each ingredient and quantity, not to mention every single thing I eat which would drive me crazy. I honestly felt like it was my only option to get over this plateau and I was so bummed out about the idea of it. I gawked at the amount of calories recommended on My Fitness Pal. THEN I wake up yesterday morning to this video and it just reminded me so much of what I really value which is health and nourishing my body. I started watching you last year because you were one of the few fitness youtubers I found that didn't count macros or wasn't just into weightlifting and really valued good food and listening to your body which is something I have always valued.This was longer than I anticipated, but I just want to say thank you for videos and sharing your life and journey. Like I said, you really do inspire me and I'm so excited that you're coming out with an Ebook. Lots of love!

Laura Barth you should try stretching and strengthening your wrists to avoid injuring them by "forcing" them into a 90 degree ankle. Your wrists will get used to it after a couple of weeks and you'll be able to use them for a longer period of time. I had a lot of issues with my wrists in the past but now they don't hurt at all anymore! 😊

Love you!! Can completely relate to the not sleeping thing. My body type, diet, and exercise are similar to yours. In order to sleep, I stopped caffeine and introduced more carbs. Love paleo because I easily get hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) from most carbs, but when I restrict carbs too much I don't sleep. Also, caffeine stays in my body for a loooong time (maybe because I'm lean), so I try to avoid it (even decaf). I love coffee and green tea, but love feeling well-rested even more! Have been doing intermittent fasting - 14:10, and it's been the best thing for me. No longer eating at night. Wake up at 5:30 am, go to sleep around 10:00. Eat breakfast at 7:30am, lunch around 11:30am, and dinner before 5:30pm.

Idk what she means by saying not eat fitness foods like those fit cookie.She said that the cookie has gluten dairy and sugar.......None of those will make you bulky,only way to look bulky is if u don’t know how to lift and have excess body fat on you.If you eat that cookie and stay in a cal deficit,you will end up shredded.So yea I think point 2 should be eat real food 85-90% of the time whilst eating fun foods in moderation

If you're not doing this already watch where you are putting the weight. Make sure that you're putting an even amount of weight throughout all of your palm- mainly focusing on putting the weight of your body on your knuckles; not just the bottom near your wrist. @Blueeyesinthesky4 жыл бұрын
I would modify those workouts to not put weight on your knee for a bit until it goes away. Definitely do not keep pushing it, because you don’t want it to lead to injury. Basically, don’t do anything that causes it to hurt. Make sure to always incorporate dynamic (moving) stretches before each workout and static (still) stretches after your workouts!! 🙃 and invest in a roller to roll out those stiff muscles every day

You have inspired me so much but I don't want to be all talk no action so I won't say much more about what I mean but I just wanna say thank you for the content you put up and for simply being you! I can't wait for your book ❤️❤️❤️🎉😊

Sarah, I love you so much but I can't believe that after your workout you only had a coffee and a lemon water....that's really bad for your body :/

Go girl! Just one thing. I heard big dinners aren't the healthiest (my husband studies nutrition and bioscience). It should go like so: Eat like a king/heavy but healthy for breakfast, a knight/mediocre for lunch and a pessant/light for dinner. This helps regulate metabolism and burn off fat. When you eat a heavy dinner, especially red meat, it takes a LONG time to digest and at night, when your digestive tract is already slowing down due to circadian rhythm (at night your body naturally shuts down).

You are not to the point...the video title says how to be lean and not bulky..I watched for 6 minutes and I'm very disappointed as you are just talking about the ebook and your shopping and Pinterest...why an I here...now I even think your ebook is going to be the same..... nothing quality wise... Please stop tricking people to watch your content less videos...and on top of that you act so pretentious...never going to tune to your channel...

What is the best way to start practicing handstands and being able to stay up for longer periods at a time?
