@@vivid_racing I couldn't care less about what some article says, especially if it contradicts the following: Tires have absolutely NOTHING to do with horsepower. Tire diameter has the same effect as a gearing change as well as effects due to differences in mass. This video has all the earmarkings of someone who knows how to run a dyno and falsify the results so that AFTER their mods are done, the increases look better than what they actually are. To only get a little over 150 HP out of an engine rated at 270 HP is abysmal. 150 kilowatts, maybe!

The tune can actually improve fuel economy in some cases but you shouldn't see any real decrease if you drive it similarly to how you did before the tune! For the stage 1 file it is not, however to achieve or quoted gains it is. All stage 2 upgraded header tunes require 91-93oct

@@nateyoung6331 Stock HP on a 4Runner is 270 right? Our stock baseline was 215. Thats about a 20% drivetrain loss. Also the numbers dont matter, that gain does. if this baselined at 300 and with the mods made 315, well thats 15hp. If this baselined at 200 and with the mods made 300, thats 100HP. People are so caught up on the number, the gain is what matters.

Afternoon, I've purchased a new 4 Runner and I'm trying to decide between a supercharger and a ecu flash as I don't want to void factory warranty but do want more power out of the vehicle. Also obviously the supercharger is much more expensive. With all of that said can you provide me with some pricing and options for both routes and your recommendation that is best for the vehicle as a daily driver and looking to keep for many years.

The supercharger actually comes with a tune already! The supercharger will run $6,000 and will give a phenomenal power increase and maintain reliability. It also comes with a 36k-mile/3-year drivetrain warranty! As far as the tune goes, that will run about $500-$1,150 depending on the configuration. The tune can yield 30-40 extra hp.

Thanks for reaching out! Yes the pedal commander is 100% safe to use as it works completely separate from the ECU Flash. The Pedal Commander improves the responsiveness of the throttle by piggybacking off of the electronic pedal to change how quickly the throttle body plate opens. The ECU Flash on the other hand improves throttle response as a result of the increased horsepower and torque from the engine itself. Using them both together would only further the driving experience by allowing you to fine tune the pedal response. Hope this helps! Modern engines tune themselves to the fuels you are running. Pull timing when octane is low and add a few degrees when you add high octane. Little do people know, this is a government regulated feature to keep you from running alcohol that you can make at home. @@thorsky2754 We do provide excellent tuning for the 5th gen Toyota 4Runner however being yours is a 2020 there can be issues completing the process. Nothing mechanical has been changed on the 2020 model and we have tuned a handful of them, however the process for the 4Runner requires us to source the matching stock/original file from a database before we can complete tuning. Because the 4Runner OEM ECU cannot be read out to provide a copy of this file tuning can sometimes not be completed. The tool we provide ( DimSport MyGenius ) will simply take an "ID" of your ECU software and hardware versions then we source the original. On 2010-2019 models we have no issue with this as all versions are readily available however being yours is so new it is possible this version is not available. In the event you purchase and receive our tuning package and we cannot source this we do provide a full refund and return shipping label.

Magnuson offers a 36k mile/ 3-year warranty with their Toyota kits. You can buy an optional 5-year/60k mile warranty as well. The kit has to be put on by a certified Toyota dealer or an ASE certified technician. It covers the whole drivetrain so if the engine blows up as a result of the supercharger, Magnuson will warranty the engine.

@@chrisedwards71 You can but not really going to gain much like a Turbo vehicle. We tune them for 91-93 octane. Not sure if the 4Runner has the required injectors and pump to handle the corrosive properties that are in E85. This is why most E85 turbo cars upgrade these. I have never seen a reason to run E85 in a NA engine.

It could void your powertrain. However Magnuson gives you a 3yr/36K powertrain warranty and for an extra $500 you get a 5yr/60K. Kits are instock ready to ship!

@@wyattseverson1613 Toyota was a little "wishy-washy" on their answer..they didn't come out and say yes.. and they didn't say no..however, they still stand behind the standard statement that whatever you do to your vehicle the mod would need to be proven to affect the warrantee ... I still would rather spend the money for the flash then $6K on a supercharger..sorry it took so long to get back to you.. I had notifications turned off.

Another possible reason is emission controls alterations may cause carbon accumulation and other long term yet dreadful consequences. Is it nice to have extra power? Yeah. But I can live with 270 hp (my 2018 4R) that also provide virtually unlimited lifetime with no surprises down the road. I also have a 2004 with 220,000+ mi (245 hp) that easily tows dual-axle trailer with mid-size tractor (8,000 lbs?) in the hills of Idaho. At one point, I considered installing Toyota supercharger but dismal benefits vs significant costs swayed me into leaving the truck alone.

If my guy say's you don't gain on a stock engine then why try, This guy is taking food off his own table because he makes relationships with his costumers, he isn't one and done. If I bring my 4 runner to you and don't see any noticeable gains are you going to charge me
