You are a light in the maze that is all things food - truly! Your message is so so important. Food is meant to be enjoyed, to nourish - I myself have used food as a punishment for way too many years and I do, as a result, struggle with intuitive eating and listening to hunger cues. But taking that aside, watching your videos alone has cured me from a lot of false preconceived ideas. You and Nigella Lawson are my foodie heroes!

Another thing people don't mention often, is that diets may work, and you might lose all the weight but trying to keep it off and trying to maintain that diet can lead to eating disorders and anxiety around food. It can ruin your life for years! Trust me, I'm 35 now and I've struggled with eating disorders for 20 years! Once you have an ED it's difficult journey to normalcy so please do not do that to yourself.

The problem with intuitive eating is that processed food, to which so many of us are addicted, overrules that, our attempts at moderation and willpower. We need to abstain from ultraprocessed foods, like an alcoholic needs to abstain from alcohol, we cannot eat them in moderation and they're not healthy for us anyway. Eating wholefoods and plant-based helped me get slim and healthy.

There's no food addiction the way alcohol is an addiction, and you absolutely can learn to incorporate all types of food in a healthy way!

That's a really good point @luluandmeow and I agree with you, that it's hard/impossible to eat ultra processed foods in a healthy and balanced way. But I also believe that intuitive eating means eating slowly, eating food that tastes good, and enjoying every bite. And We don't normally eat ultra processed foods slowly or mindfully. I think that if we did, we would be very aware that they don't taste that good! I definitely don't feel good after eating them, I feel unhealthy and even sick (well that's how I feel after eating McDonald's or super sugary chocolate!). For me, eating processed food is normally due to boredom or stress, so I have to deal with the emotional side of eating, which seems to be an eternal battle!

I have a question that I wanna hear a response from a dietetics. The important thing is, I have a guilt food that I cannot drop, that is - you would call it - a Soda, but not the regular one. I am European from a small (and pretty awful) country, but Cola with 0 sugar but ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER can be bought. Is it safe for long time? Every gym tiktokker and dude call it unhealthy since its a "soda" but has literally ZERO sugar in it, the only downside is the factor that it contains aspartame, but every post about aspartame is different so hard to believe in. - My father in law always says I should drink Limonade if I dont like just tap water, but as far as I know limonade need a lot of sugar to become potable. Being honest when I was around 18 I was a very big guy (160KG+), then I dropped around 70-75 kgs but stopped going the gym usual as my lifestyle changed. My weight since then elevated slightly, over like 5 years I gained 15 kg's thats not muscle. Actually I can change food diet pretty fast, the only thing that I have problem is the drink that I mentioned.

Lucie, all the information coming at us is soooooo overwhelming! I’m trying to just focus on eating healthy, eating when i’m hungry, and I need to stop reading every friggin doctors advise I cant possibly eat every item of food in one day that every doctor says we should eat daily! I don’t think I can afford to eat everything every day! BUT MAKING THE CHOICE AS TO WITHCH FOODS IS HARD! lol love your channel you are such a light in all this diet darkness lol!
@Edukalebylucie7 ай бұрын
I know it can seem so overwhelming but if you focus on the basics (more whole foods + listening to your body) that's the most important!

Your videos are the best in so many different ways. You really think outside the box to get a broader, practical, intuitive and very positive outlook.

Hey Lucille, I really find your videos so so helpful. I’m not sure if you’ve done previously, but do you think you could possibly do a video explaining how to stop saving all your calories for the end of the day? What the negatives of this are, why it’s important to eat regularly and how to make changes to achieve this and eat intuitively? It’s become a bad habit which I think first started off from fearing any spontaneous plans if I were to eat normally. I hope this isn’t too confusing but would be amazingly helpful xxx

Thank you! I added that idea to my list ☺

Lucie I hope you put together that cookbook too. I think it’ll do well! It doesn’t need to be long just good recipes to interchange maybe 7 or 8 different kinds of breakfasts lunches and dinners I hope you do it!

Hello Lucie! I don't remember if you have a video on how to fight the urge to eat the whole bag of cookies instead of only a few. Like how to practically stop as it's going on. Thank you!

I can’t imagine having a fear food my most difficult thing is to stop when I am full especially if it delicious☺️the mindful eating is something I need to focus more on. I tend to rush because I wait to long to eat then I am starving and overeat.

Thanks a lot! Your vides are helping me a lot🙏🏼 I see you eating citrus fruit after your meal. Is it ok to eat them? Do you generally eat your dessert immediately after your meal or have gap in between? Can you please do a video on harmonal cravings and how to address them. I get deep cravings during my ovulation and PMS phase.

So glad to be helpful! Of course, it's always ok to eat fruit, and I like to eat them right after my meals or on their own as a snack!

I agree with the spirit of what you are saying, but there are objectively bad foodstuffs developed by an industry that prioritizes profit to the exclusion of all other concerns. I agree that guilt is counterproductive but moderate nutritional due diligence is important. I can only speak as an American when I say it wasn't guilt that made us so unhealthy as a nation.
@Edukalebylucie7 ай бұрын
I see what you're saying, but these things aren't mutually exclusive. You can strive for a healthy balanced diet but still enjoy soda and a cookie without feeling guilty!
