I've always noticed that people I know who've suffered with anorexia in the past age far better and maintain a healthier weight when healed than people who were binge eaters, bulimia etc. Not that anorexia is anything we should be striving for, but I certainly think the lack of food compared to eating disorders of over eating really made a difference.

In some traditional cultures in Eastern-Europe living the fasted life used to be the only life. And people were slim and healthy till their old age, very old age. But nowadays, with all the supermarkets popping-up, I see fat teenagers and very mature girls on the streets. And their parents suffer of all sorts of illnesses in their 40s or even 30's.

So many videos say that we have to juice the kale. Is there something wrong with eating the actual vegetable itself without mixing it with something else to ruin the flavor? I remember about 50 years ago my mother told me that if I wanted to stay youthful forever I needed to chew my food very well because that would increase the muscles in my face and keep my skin from sagging. She told me that when you're chewing your food that is exercise for your face and it increases the absorption of the nutrients in the food. Of course I am mid 50s so that could just be an old mothers tale. And yes I've purchased well over 25 or 30 juicers since the 80s. I just don't use them for vegetables because for some odd reason I want to be able to taste the actual flavor of the produce to see if the lack of nutrients in the soil's are affecting its flavor.
@Drberg
@Drberg 6 жыл бұрын
Kale can be eaten, although it may be too bitter for one's preference, that is why it is suggested to be juiced along with other vegetables and or a cup of berries.

Containing fluid comes from too much salt intake. At breakfast and lunch eat 5 mini white potatoes and nothing else. At dinner eat anything you want, yet try to keep it healthy. Potatoes are full of potassium and potassium depletes sodium. Also, stay away from salt as much as possible. I threw away my salt shaker and I'm using garlic powder instead. Good luck

I just can’t drink the green juice so I chop my greens really fine and put it in a low carb wrap with some protein. It’s great and satisfying and Im consuming the same amount that i would if I blended it. When you chop it really fine with carrot sticks too you wouldn’t believe how much greens you can consume. Sometimes consuming a salad or green juice is boring. This is a quick way to get the greens. You can put a little chicken, beacon and cheese. And it’s delicious.

OMG Dr. Berg, I just got so happy when you showed the same collagen powder (it's the BEST) that I use every day in my coffee. No wonder your skin is so beautiful & youthful for your age! I've seen amazing results using this product for over 6 months plus some other herbs' & minerals' as well. You know your stuff Doc, and apparently so do I yay! :)

CJCSDGirly how long had you use the collagen powder before noticing less wrinkles and better skin?
@Baseballgirly100
@Baseballgirly100 7 жыл бұрын
@Linda Johnson- I'm only 35-years- old-- I look over a decade [young] younger for my age and I have no wrinkles so I really can't answer your question on that but, what I can answer is that my skin is baby smooth, soft, my hair is growing like weeds (very fast) and is much thicker, my nails are growing WAY TOO FAST (I hate it!), my eyelashes are growing very long & think ( they look like fake lashes, and my lips are more full and pouty. I use this with other herb's & minerals added with the Collagen such as Silica, hyaluronic acid etc. I say between 3- to- 4 months when I started to see results. So all of the things combined I take together has all helped with everything that I've mentioned. I think it will help with wrinkles even though I have none yet. :)

Years ago, a British study found that eating tomato puree (combined with olive oil) every day increased levels of pro-collagen in the skins of test subjects; which then led to more collagen in the skin, after 2 months. It was most likely due to the lycopene in the tomato puree that caused this., since lycopene had been found (in previous studies) to inhibit the breakdown of collagen in the skin. The tomato puree has to be eaten with fat, since lycopene is fat soluble; hence the olive oil.
