Can I just say....every doula I have met or watched a video of is such a helpful person in general. Such a beautiful calling sure does attract such beautiful, nurturing souls. I am so honored to have this calling. Thank you for your help

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I'm on the fence if becoming a doula will work for me and my young daughter. Has anyone come across a video of how birth doulas manage their career and family? I appreciate all of the information you gave. Cheers

Such a great video! Thank you so much for this. I was skimming through on short time to see if I’d watch this in entirety and the part I skipped to was right where you said that there are so many different kinds of doulas and that is needed, important and should be celebrated. And then I went back to watch all of it 😂 but seriously, as someone whose just trying to get a feel for it - thank you. I can tell you’d be a great resource for many people on different paths in their journey.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I am due August 8 with my first baby, and have been curious about the possibility of becoming a Doula. I’m concerned though about how that would work once baby arrives. As I’ve seen another videos you mentioned being on call, I’m wondering if you think that it still worth it to look into becoming a doula, or if it would be too difficult trying to do this with a new baby? I don’t have a lot of friends and family around where we live if ever I needed to be on call. My husband is the only person at the moment. But if it was during the day while he’s at work I don’t know how that would work, but I am so interested in the career! 🤔 Thank you! and sorry for the long message 😅

Thank you so much. 😂 I have been stressing for so long about getting started. One question I have. Do you need to be certified to be on Doula match? Thanks.
@HannahPaige6 жыл бұрын
Jodie Dalton no certification necessary for Doula Match, although you are able to upload your certification once you get it 😊

I'm from India, I want to do this course, may I know where I can do!? And is it worthy to earn?
@withloverose79025 жыл бұрын
Big big question. I want to learn about it ALLL, and expand, and understand almost everything. So, if you become certified with DONA, are you allowed to become certified with multiple places? I guess I don't understand yet, this is my second video learning about this 😂😂❤❤❤❤

With love, Rose I’m sure you CAN become certified with another organization, but it would likely be overkill and unnecessary. The goal is to find the organization that jives with you and your style. They all offer something a little different, while also all offering training on how best to support pregnant and birthing people. ❤️ You CAN get your birth Doula certification through DONA, your postpartum certification through ProDoula, and your Placenta encapsulation certification through CAPPA (I’m not sure if CAPPA actually offers this... just using it as an example) if that makes sense. But to take multiple birth Doula certification courses would likely be redundant and unnecessary. Does that answer your question?

@@HannahPaige Yeah, I thinks so. I just called everywhere today to see what my town has to offer me before I do this. Soo, would a CLC be valuable?
@HannahPaige5 жыл бұрын
With love, Rose absolutely, if lactation is something you feel passionately about and wish to help families. Doula work and lactation go wonderfully together.

If a doula doesn't deliver the baby who does at home? Are only medical gynecologists qualified to deliver babies? Who is the individual who is not a medical doctor that can deliver a baby at home naturally?
@HannahPaige5 жыл бұрын
DeeDeePolishton TV in the US, either a certified professional midwife or a Certified Nurse Midwife (the former is trained through extensive apprenticeship and mentorship but is not a nurse, the latter is a nurse practitioner with a masters of nursing) or some gynecologist MDs perform home births. The laws change from state to state. A doula never catches a baby or performs any medical procedures. As a DONA doula, we typically only attend home births that are attended by a medical professional (one of the professionals listed above), aka we do not attend “free births”, although that can change from person to person.

@@HannahPaige thank you so much for the clarity. I think the one i was looking for is a "midwife". I will use this response for a resource!
