if you really want to sell the 90's look, the footage needs to be shot at 30 frames and you can get away with boosting some midtone detail and maybe even a tiny bit of sharpening on your global node.

@@grandmastermage go look at vhs footage. 24 fps makes it look cinematic. but 30 makes it feel more raw and realistic and that’s what the majority of vhs camcorders recorded at.

Hmmmm my brain is not grasping the part with the CST node. Why do we need this? Because usually when I use Film Looks Lut, I just dial it down to ~8% node opacity and that's it.

The conversion is making sure we're not crushing any detail while keeping the DNA of the LUT.

He chose Cineon Film Log for the Output colour space as the Fujifilm LUT he applied(and all the stock film looks in resolve for that matter) work best with Cineon Film Log Colour space.. If he had left it in Rec709 it was simply too contrasty like at 10:09
