Great tips!! Thank you. I have a chore chart with tasks in cleaning their rooms and some other chores around the house that has a reward of their choosing when they reach the required points. The points is so they don't stress out if they miss a chore because it happens. Once I implemented this it has eased the stress for ALL of us.

Great tips. I am going to try a few with my Grandchildren. My son and his wife have tried everything to get their 12 year old daughter to clean her room. She is clean about her own hygiene and clothes but very messy when it comes to her room. Thank You Nikki for all your great videos.

I try and design my children’s room so it looks tidy from the door and the play area/more clutter is at the other side of the room. This keeps my stress levels down as it generally looks fine as I walk past. Definitely getting children to help tidy from a very young age is useful even if you have to assist or redo when they aren’t looking. I found having a tub of toys out at a time was useful and could easily be cleared up before getting another out. Also sometimes rotating access to toys keeps it fresh. I tried to get my children to check/tidy their room after they get dressed am & pm with the hope that only one or two things needed to be put away

Terrific ideas Nikki! I no longer have kids at home and every time I see a video that doesn't apply to me I watch it anyway because I always learn something! Yes if they can operate an Ipad they can fold towels! I also love the teaching factor. Sometimes we assume our kids or loved one should just know or read our mind.

My little Johnny is 21 years old. I wish I would have been more hard on him when he was younger but I was going through alot as a single parent. Now I'm dealing with the consequences. 😭

Here’s a another way tell your kid if they don’t clean their room then you’re going to clean it and when you are done tell them they can’t come back in the room. That’s what my mom did to me and went to clean it

I keep my things in order but Lee and our autistic son Daniel do not. Daniel tends to copy bad habits instead of good ones. Lee and I are polite but Daniel is rude. We don't have a kitchen table and the living room floor has weak spots form water damage so we eat in our bedrooms. I drink my coffee in the bedroom. He mostly drinks water at home. I do macro storage for him. All he has to do is dump it in a bin. I already know what his interests are. He's interested in art (he's more into drawing and molding things than coloring things) and music (he loves both playing and listening to it), and video games (his favorites are Minecraft, Garage Band, and Goat Simulator).
