I used to do something similar. I had 50'x4' raised beds made of landscape timbers 3 timbers high. I was using fabric weed cloth with my soaker hoses underneath like yours. I had a Miracle Grow hose feeder that would screw in-between 2 hoses that I would fertilize with once or twice a month. A trick my great uncle taught me was using the concrete reinforcing, can't remember the proper term, but it looks like wire fencing, has like 6" square openings, and comes in a roll, to make tomato cages about 3' in diameter. It makes it easy if you use hogrings to secure them. The "fencing" is only 5' tall so I made enough to cut the correct number in half to end up with cages over 7'. They last for years. I still have a few from 20 years ago. Just remember don't ever let anyone smoke anywhere near your garden. Tobacco Mosaic virus is spread only in the ashes of burned tobacco. I learned the hard way...lol

Have you heard of the back to Eden gardening method? If you have not I would recommend watching it. There are some very beneficial things that happen when it is used. It helps with heavy rains and erosion, it helps with sequestering the water that does enter your garden, it promotes a looser soil with the benefit of breaking down to compost and it helps to fight weeds. I started using this method two yrs ago and I have found it to be beneficial for me in south east Tx.

Tomatoes do grow fast, but around here the tomato hornworms are a huge problem, How do you deal with them without hungry ducks? Using a tapered plugging tool makes dirt removal easy. Drip irrigation is a good idea when you have a garden as large as yours. Fungi can help plants absorp minerals I use them in my garden they form a large network of hyphae.

Hornworms are a problem they get so big you can hear them eating. Just have to keep a lookout for them and encourage the Birds to hang around the birds get a lot of them

We use to replant the suckers when they would be about 2inches long. Put them in soil until just the top leaves stick out and keep them wet. That way you extend the season by having young plants all summer. Happy Easter everyone
@FinancialPrepper
@FinancialPrepper 2 жыл бұрын
We still do that if it’s early in the season. If it’s not early enough they won’t do good

There is a tool called the pro plugger. It’s made for grass, however it would work the same as your tool. The difference is that the end is tapered and the plugs, or dirt, don’t get stuck in the tool. Might save time and aggravation.

Azospirillum and Mycros , they attach to the roots and act like A farmers market for your roots, so your plants share nutrient's with symbiotic plants . 1 tomato plant has to much nitrogen and not enough of something else,it sends it threw the roots to another plants roots and they share stuff and the plants require less ,,everything !
