This guy knows what's up! I see 90% of people at the gym doing squats wrong. Free weights and bodyweight is the best combo.

Over the years I came to EXACTLY this same conclusion--locking out takes the tension OFF the muscle! Tony's the best!
@richbrake9910 Жыл бұрын
Another problem is locking out can hurt the joints. The weight goes off the muscle and on the joints.

Mr. Pearson knows what he’s talking about. Continuous tension and focused reps with moderate weights, barbells and dumbbells over everything else. Basic bodybuilding.

Tony Pearson is a legend in this sport, and i train with the same method of continuous tention, thats damn good advice

I AGREE 1000% ON NOT LOCKING OUT ON SQUATS...IT KEEPS THE TENSION ON THE QUADS..YOU GET A BETTER PUMP AND WHEN YOU ARE DONE IT ACTUALLY FELT LIKE A REAL WORKOUT. THANKS BROTHA T.

I like Tony and I do agree with many things he is saying. Using light weights and many reps is definitely good to build muscels and for joints too. But I think if you keep the tension on the joints (even with lighter weights) without locking out for a second will break the joints, because it is not a natural movement to keep tension on the joints and moving. For muscle growth is maybe better but I don't think for joints. Joints are the most important thing to keep training for a lifetime.

I notice that all the other people that have been on this show don't look in shape. Tony's body is still in great shape. I have never seen any one with their lats expanded in that way while seating. Amazing physique even after so many years.😊

Since it is all about tension, why not just do the eccentric and or isometric part of the rep? Just lower it and hold it in position contracted position (i.e. resist the weight) till failure?

I've seen several guys that do negative sets. I add them into certain exercises myself... Definitely worth mixing in... In no pro, but just some regular guy feedback. I like the results... It definitely helps with strength and mind muscle 💪 connection

As far as an intense GROWTH INDUCING pump, constant tension with no more than 75% of your 1RM is going to force the muscle to OVER-adapt and increase in size. Lockouts should really only be used for powerlifting, TBH.

Today people are on fast forward out of their minds in the process.They want everything quick with no patience. Technology is feeding this behavior in modern society. I am proud to say I am detached from this behavior.
