Just a word of *CAUTION* to anyone using the included Kernel Installer Tool. The tool will *DELETE* without any warning, any LBOOT.EPB on the root of the USB storage device. So if say for example; You use your personal USB drive to mod another Playstation Classic console, maybe a friends so they can use OTG, and you use the included tool to create a backup of that system it will *OVERWRITE* any existing backups with no warning or prompt as shown in the AutoBleem 1.0.0 logs (Exec:rm -rf /media/LBOOT.EPB). Just make sure to move or rename your backup before starting. I suggest using the serial number of the Playstation Classic as part of the name to avoid mixing them up.

Spent the last week tinkering with Project Eris (I'm new to modding), but something in there wouldn't let me run RA or open games in ES whatsoever and the lack of info anywhere was frustrating. Very good video, thanks! I would like to leave a note regarding the .PBP disk files I have several multidisc games in .PBP format in a single file, just convert correctly by inserting all discs in the conversion. To choose the disks and make the exchange, just access the RetroArch settings and in the disk settings, choose the disk you want at the time of the exchange. The files fits PS Classic, PSP and PS Vita (Adrenaline) perfectly like official Sony games. This would make a nice video teaching the guys.👍

After chatting with someone in the Discord room, found that the kernel install doesn't prevent the need for booting from the USB. The USB is needed always. Autobleem merely flashes upgrades to Sony's firmware to allow OTG/Wifi/Bluetooth. Also, once the kernel is flashed, an OTG cable is an absolute non-negotiable requirement, not an option. The underpowered front USBs don't put out enough current to read the USB stick. I ran into this problem after flashing the kernel and even recreated the USB stick...this PSC will never boot again until I get an OTG cable. Buy an OTG cable before you get started to avoid extreme frustration. Also buy a power supply with its own switch so you don't have to yank the power cable so often.

Hey Restalgia, love the videos! Any idea why some games launched from the Autobleem launcher(without RA) causing the D-Pad to be disabled on the stock PSC controller? I am able to launch the games with RA and they work...but annoying so far. Running 1.0/Kernel not flashed currently.

All of my rips from my cds are .bin and .cue. So for them, would u recommend just keeping them together in a folder named after the game and dropping that folder in the games folder? There wasn’t really that much detail on that. Will these games have the meta data like the other file you dropped into the game folder?

Hi, I have watched your video about 15 times now. This is the best video to Jailbreak the PlayStation Classic so far. I've bought a PS Classic yesterday and I'm having issues with USB Flash Drives since mine are not compatible. So, I ordered the AuviPal 3-Port Micro USB OTG Hub Adapter from Amazon and I have a question though. Is it possible to Jailbreak the console directly using that USB HUB that works in the back of the console?

Couple questions. Where did you go to get the extra game/games you added yourself like Ace Combat? Did you download it somewhere else and put it on the memory or is it part of the mod file? And lastly, once the mod is loaded from the USB stick? Can I reboot the PS Classic with the new games without the USB so that I can play with 2 controllers?

He's legally not going to be able to tell you where to get the games, but it shouldn't be difficult with a Google search. If you follow the instructions he gives, it sets up the back USB port so that you can put in an OTG (which is like a Y splitter that will let you plug in both the power USB cord and the USB drive), doing that, both front USB ports will be open for controllers. If you need a suggestion on which OTG to buy, he put the link to the one he has in the description.

Sorry man I appreciate the work thats went into all these videos you've made and I've watched so many of them to try and answer this without having to ask you but here goes. Currently on my PSC I have autobleem installed, I don't want it anymore, I want to install project eris. Problem is I have the kernel exploit I installed way back in the bleemsync days. What do I need to do to get project eris up and running on my PSC? Do I need to remove the kernel exploit or can I just remove autobleem and install project eris? Thanks man

Did you install the autobleem kernel? I assume not if you never removed the bleemsync kernel still on it. Best practice would be to uninstall the bleemsync kernel which I made a video about, and reinstall PE from scratch. You can just use the bleemsync kernel for proj3ct eris though, and it's as simple as creating a new usb drivem. I personally have a build for both and bounce between them

I followed all of the steps but when I get to your step on flashing the kernel I get a message that reads “This PSC has not been restored to original condition. Unable to flash,” and when I added a ps1 game it didn’t show up in the games list, however I added a few N64 games and found them through the retro arch application- they display the game but do not detect the dpad buttons so I am unable to play it right. If you have any advice please let me know, thank you.

I had the "This PSC has not been restored to original condition" issue also. It turned out there was an old version of bleemsync on my console at one time. Look up bleemsync uninstall image. It's still available on the bleemsync/product eris site. I ran that and was good to go.

To anyone having trouble with the multi disk games you cannot use anything like .chd or .pbp for multi disk games. You can only use straight up .bin and .cue files. Like mentioned in this video, you just drop the bin and cue files for all the disks of the game straight into the "games" folder. Don't sort them in their own folders or zip them. If done right and all bin and cue files are included it should work just fine. I just got resident evil 2 working no problem following this awesome tutorial. I am new to psx mini and autobleem. Thank you for this video it was very helpful! I hope my comment helps somone out there who may still be having issues.

If you don't mind me asking, are .chd files going to work properly in the "games" folder if they aren't a multi disk game? Also, when you say don't sort them in folders, it sounds like you are saying unlike normal games where each game has a folder with its bin/cue, ini, png files etc, these ones you just drop all the files, outside a folder? Or do you mean put all of the files in the 1 folder under the game name instead of separating them? Because all the games have the same "Game.ini" name for the file, so if dropped right into the "games" folder, you can only do 1 multi disk game

awesome video! what is the difference between RetroArch and EmulationStation? ..what determines wich one should you use? ..and can you use ROM for systems like AMIGA500? ..I think that would require a keyboard and maybe even a mouse

Emulation station is just a front end for retroach. Retroarch is the engine that runs the games, but ES is what makes it look pretty. And yes you could do Amiga500 with keyboard and mouse plugged in, but you mat need to configure it. I have never tried that console.

Ive done this complete process and its good . Seems to work better than ModMyClassic project Eris version. Beware that you cannot mix up the USB systems because when I plugged ModMyClassic back in it removed the Autobleem Kernel . So I have 2 ps1 classic . One for each system

When you flash the ps1 and are able to use a bigger drive via otg do you just transfer everything from the smaller usb to the other one or how does that work?

Correct, you can use any size drive after. Some people are using 1tb hard drives. As long as its connected to OTG, you are okay from a power requirement perspective

I have a NES, SNES, and a Genesis with full us rom sets. But I’m struggling with the PSX. I have a 64gb usb maxed with 88 games. The biggest usb 2.0 is 256. That’s 4 times bigger. I’ll be luck to get 300 games on there (some are multi disk. Any suggestions on getting and external hardrive to work with the mini?

One last question after the initial flash on front usb….if I use OTG back USB port can I use a usb powered HD or does it need to be a powered drive… also does that drive need to be fat32 as well or will exfat work

Once the custom kernel is in, you can absolutely use exFAT for a drive. I am personally using a 120gb SSD plugged into the otg adaptor with no need for additional external power.

you have to use a self powered usb stick , ie it will light up when its reading , once the kernal has been delivered on it you can tranfer that data to an unpowered USB and use it on OTG adapter. I just used a powered old 2mb USB stick to do the first part then tranfered the data once kernaled

I have problems with my PSX mini :( I don't know what I have done but I guess I have touched some internal file (not with this tutorial) and now it doesn't start with Pendrive and without pendrive. The screen says "failed to load data, Error 001-001" and I can't do anything else. It doesn't even connect via FTP. Do you know of any way to restore the internal files to their factory state? Does the nes and the n64 need bios or other files to work or they just come with the mod fully playable

Nes and n64 don't require bios files, games will launch as long as you put the games in the correct folders as shown in the video. Full disclose n64 does not run super great, so don't expect a stellar experience. Nes, snes, sega, gameboy, game gear, arcade games etc all run very well

@Restalgia My console never booted me back to the apps page after backing it up. It black screened and the power indicator continues to flash. It's been about 15 minutes. Is that normal?

After 2 hours I unplugged the system and confirmed the drive had the Lboot, but I keep getting an error message that says, "Invalid backup or kernel image" when I try to flash the kernel, and it automatically powers off. I've followed every step exactly. Currently recopying the Autobleem 1.0.0 files over to the drive again in case they got corrupted somehow in the process. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

can you please explain if you use a 64gb flash drive (4:36) , you format it then use a back up , then on 13:12 it shows the GAMES folder on the same 64gb flash drive its 70.8gb ??

During that part of the video, I switched to my personal build which is a 120gb ssd. I did this for demonstration purposes, so when I turn it on, you could see alot of new titles on the mod, rather then just 1.

Why don't you recommend plugging the USB stick back into the front port after installing and using an otg adapter instead? btw can you also use another usb stick for games after installing the software?

The front port has a power limiter, which means if the usb draws too much power, it will fail. An OTG Adaptor plugged into the back of the console does not have the same power restraints.

@@Restalgia Ah okay thanks. Is it now that you don't have to set up anything extra if you install autobleem the normal way to use the rear usb port with an adapter? I found a video where I have to install something else first. Luckily I found a cheap usb split / otg adapter for 1.99€/$.

everything worked except when I go into the autobleem screen and push select to go to the flash kernel app it doesn’t switch to apps it just stays the same. also when I go to setting it brings up the original ps classic settings instead of autobleem settings. all my games show up but those things wont show

While pbp files are smaller, do you lose anything at all in terms of gameplay quality compared to the usual bin/cue file?

Nothing noticeable on these consoles, however note with pbp games, you cannot properly play multi disc games. So things that require an active game disc swap need to be bin/cue still

@@Restalgia Yup, remember that from the vid! Unfortunately pbp files are somewhat harder to find and after talking to somebody from the modding community, most of the times the file size isn't THAT huge of a difference, so I think I will just grab whatever I find. Appreciate the reply!

When importing ps1 game, can each game be in its own folder inside the games folder? I'm going to want to import a lot of ps1 games from my pc is the reason I'm asking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
