To each his own like he said. IMO 7:20 looks better naturally because asphalt road edge is never perfect like concrete patio. So edging exposes this ugly uneven edge

I honestly wish there was a radio station that played nothing but the sounds of lawn equipment. I could just get lost in those sounds. That's my passion. I loved the start of this video. I am the same way about something that has been working well for so long, it is hard to get rid of it. Keep it working as long as you can. Keep the relic. It shows us what brands are reliable.

Thanks for sharing your experience; nice looking lawn and tight edges. I am now reconsidering my position on edges. I like the tight edges too, but I don't edge as much as in previous years because the edge seems to create "ant freeways": the ant sees the freeways as a opportunity to build "ant communities".

That thin line looks great. I know someone that is having their landscaper make the edge a good 2 to 3 inches wide. I wonder why they do it. Maybe they do it so they don’t have to pay someone to do it very often. It definitely doesn’t look good.

Thanks for the video !! Perhaps no one does this but me.. I use a string trimmer with that really good, black twisted cover line, that is really smooth running. I edge the "sidewalk" side first. Then, I stand on the grass and edge again, from that "grass" side.. When you stand there and look "down" on that grass, you see how it is still higher and longer a bit from that side, so you edge it again, with the string trimmer, holding it really still straight. Then, then, you will really have the nicest, straightest, edge you have ever seen..

Great job! Subscribed. Gave a big thumb's up! Said it before and I'll say it again! I often wonder who in the world gives thumb's down. I guess it's just trolls. My wife tells me when I get annoyed at someone who cuts me off on the highway or pulls into my parking space at home, or give me a thumb's down, "Don't get upset, just feel sorry for the guy, he's probably in a hurry to get his hemorrhoid prescription filled!" Then I just laugh (most of the time) lol. Apologies to all who have that condition and don't cut people off on the road.

Get a good Stihl weedeater.A little 056 is all that’s needed.Stihl edger blades fit the Stihl weedeater. If you are good, you can make edging simple. Turn it sideways and some instances upside down and be done with it.You don’t need any of this stuff with wheels or anything. When I buy a few blades,Sharpen all four sides and go !!! String head off, edger blade on,washer, nut and done ! I just put the blade on an extra head and makes swap out easier and faster. Want to tell a greenhorn from the rest ? Listen for over-revving needlessly while the edge work is being done.A lot of “Pros” can’t guide the edger and work the throttle to coincide with the edging being done ! They can’t do two things simultaneously ! Not saying this guy does or don’t .

FYI, edge your edges before you mow it makes a cleaner looking lawn. 1. the mower pulls up the lawn along the edges and gives you a straight cut & it also gives it a nicely defined edge. 2. By mowing after you edge everything afterwards it allows you to mulch or bag up all the trimmings that would normally fly on to lawn surface after you cut the lawn, it gives a better finished appearance. BTW 25 years in industry you learn a thing or 2 how to keep the good lawns and little tricks like this make a huge difference.
