One HUGE thing to know when you're a chad and hit tier 4 world at any point while being underleveled (like 65 or before) and tier 4 helltides are mobs at like 75 , well.... you can farm helltide at tier 3, get your 175 cinders then tier up world from kyovashad and horse your way to cash out in tier 4 helltide. That means you can get ancestral high power items from way before lvl70 without having to face 10lvl+ mobs.

After doing end game content for some time i must say i think the Helltide is the most fun of all the activities. It is like doing a dungeon, but you get to stay outside, plan your own path, do different events, open dopamine chests and fight bosses. There is room for improvement, the events in general could be more diverse and interesting and i would love to see more random bosses like the assassin bug which i found to be a fun fight with many players joining in to defeat the bastard. Also i find the mystery chest deal kinda weak, just make all chests the same reward ratio and mark them on the map, maybe mark events too or make it so that if a event is started by a player a longer range notification will pop up on other players maps so that players will gather at and do the event together. Events could be bigger and more challenging under the assumption that players will do them together. I really hope they will continue to develop the Helltides along with the Nightmare Dungeon system i feel there is a good balance that can be achieved between the two end game activities. The nightmare dungeon could focus more on the solo aspect of the game and the helltide could develop the multiplayer aspect where you team up with random players to do events and defeat bosses.

I find Nightmare dungeons to be the worst activity... takes long loot is usually much worse than a helltide... and sadly experience for the glyph is low, BUT its the only place to get that glyph experience....

So its the opposite of a dungeon:) agreed that they are way more fun that the dungeon rinse and repeat. I dislike the fact that everyone tells you to use a website to find the important thing...seems like something that should be in game. Make it visible but put some nasty packs all around it to make it hard to access and easier to die trying.

One more thing to add, if you're REALLY lucky, you can sometimes get a Legion event inside a Helltide zone, you can get 200-300 shards in a small window of time, provided you don't die during the event.

Love Helltides! As a softcore player it adds a sense of threat thats both fun and not too punishing. Having sites that tell you where the mystery chests are have made them even more fun. Now I wish I can find the helm chest when I need it lol.

They should add a filter and speed run this- it brings traffic to a site and can have a content creator person to provide the data. There's a daily change on POE for a dungeon and people run that get the layout and things figured out pretty fast. I need boots lol

My #1 tip for those who have t4 unlocked but find it difficult (especially helltides), is get ur cinders on t3. Walk to the mystery chests. End game right there and change ur world tier from the character select screen. No need to die on ur way riding from a waypoint to said chest

A random druid invited me to a group mid event during a Helltide and they were pinging all over the map to new events. They told me about the Helltides site and how to use it. It was a shining example of what the MMO experience can be at its best. I was sure to share the site with others in future Helltides too and I am happy that Kripp is also giving it its praise. Definitely group up and spread the word.

Fixing a few things that were slightly wrong: Mobs are always 2 lvls higher than you, not 3. You get a random number of legendaries in mystery chests between 1 and 5. You are not guaranteed 2. Also, you are not guaranteed to get a certain number of ancestrals.

BTW, not mentioned in the video, but helltides are also a great source of quality elixirs, like the 30% max life one. You can ignore the weak ones that drop from the mystery chests, but pick up the regular ones, they're very good.

Helltides to me are so much fun.. I have died a couple times and it sucks and I usually only get 2 chests but those 2 chests will literally get you so much stuff.. totally the best way to gear up.

Dude, just want to give big thanks to you for this info! Tonight, I was able to run a circuit and got 3/4 mystery chests before I had to run off to a world event. Between all that I ended up 18 legendaries in under 1 hour! Subbed!

There are a few events that are time limited that being said you don't have to finish the objectives with 30 secs left. The 3 circle event where you kill the mobs in the circle is a good example. You complete 2 of the circles and just fight waves until you have about 15secs left then finish the objective. It's very frustrating when you are doing this and some people just force end the event by completing it. The essence event is also like this. Stop wasting the events. They spawn loads of shards if you use it effectively

You can also do the cinder collection in Tier 3, then port to town and switch to Tier 4 to open the chests. Takes time but if you are not strong enough to do Tier 4 it is sometimes worth the risk / reward.

No need to port to town. After getting your 175 and standing next to the chest, "Leave Game" to go back to main menu, switch to wt4 there, re-enter the game and you will popup right next to the chest

I have stopped doing them for loot, cause I'm always too late to the 175 chests. I have even started by scouting in these chest locations first, and I confirm they are there. So I continue farming in the area... Then next time I check on it, it's gone. How do they work? is there a specific amount of players that can open it? Cause I have seen myself and others open it, without it disappearing. Is it a bug? ... There are often times where I am stuck with 500+ and I can't even find/see the cheaper chests... Such a waste of time :s

I once had a legion event inside a HELLTIDE that was no joke we did not even got past the second wave everything was to strong and had shields everytime. When the helltide disappear also the loot of the legion disappear if you did not picket them up… every mob also dropped those shards. I think that was not normale and was a glitch. What do you think?

If you are weak, you can gather cinders on lower difficulty and swap, when it's time to turn in for chests.

maybe things changed since this vid, but helltide mystery chests are now 250 and even if you don't see them on the map, they DO appear if you are close enough. Got a few of them but, like any gear from tree of whispers, legion events and boss events, I've not yet received anything great yet.

Once you max reistances and throw on a few damage tempers, you can just farm Alters for Cinders, Blood Matriarch is the only issue if their isnt any higher levels. I do my chest runs in the last 10 mins so that information was super helpful.

I’m finding helltides and whispering tree dungeon runs to be fine for leveling. I know it’s not the most efficient way to level but I don’t expect to hit a 100 until around season 1. I’m treating the whole treadmill more like WoW than Diablo 2 or 3 with its fast leveling.

Helltides is fun with 3 or more people in a world event, can get pretty hairy with several big elites and minions and a ton of trash coming at you. But the shards drop from the sky and its the fastest way left to put xp on your bar.

Just want to add, if you are just getting in to world tier 4, and you're struggling, farm cinders on WT3. Then when you have enough, go to Kyovashad, change it to WT4. You will keep your cinders from WT3, so you can just go directly to the chest, hoping you don't die, and get the WT4 loot.

No the chest instances for you. However you can only use that chest once for that he’ll tide. The chests reset on the hour and may move to the alternate location.

mystery chest tldr: the chest moves at the turn of the hour (exactly 4 pm, exactly 7pm etc) so example; if you are farming at 3:51 am the chest is always going to move once it's 4:00 am

Do the cinders persist after logging out or between helltide instanxes? I sometimes pop on when im on a work break and play for 15 minutes here and there. Could i get say 75 cinders and then go from there a couole hours later to try and be closer to a mystery chests cost?

The Xbox version crashes during Helltides like every 10 minutes, and you lose half your shards whenever you disconnect, so sometimes I'll have to collect 400 or 500 shards just to get a total of 175, and then pray I don't crash again on my way to the chest. Last night I crashed while clearing mobs so I could open the chest, and went from 175 back down to 87. Didn't get a single chest the entire hour because of the crashing. Really quite frustrating.

I was 60 when I completed the lvl 70 capstone but had a hard time staying alive in tier 4 afterwards. I used this method to get ancestrals to stop letting me get that boost early. I’m 72 now but I’ve been doing lvl 80+ content since 64 because of this, helping me power level very nicely. It’s honestly not a bad cheat to get those upgrades early.

I have my own routine when helltide comes and I generally like to pin the weapon cache and on the way there whatever mobs I encounter including events I do them so killing two birds with one stone, I usually go for light weapons, then heavy then amulet gear and rings, sometimes I get lucky I run into "mysterious cache" and it gave me a one handed and two handed weapon sacred legendary, basically I circle around the area and kill more mobs, it works all the time for me and Helltide is fun

One of the best tips i can share for helltides is you can farm the shards in wt3 and then swap to wt4 to open chests

You can but if you are strong enough to just grind in wt4 you should. The enemies are way more clustered and it's just all around better. I used to swap when I couldn't quite solo wt4 content until I did enough to get ancestral gear and a good build.

It's one per hour per helltide region. Most of the time 2 regions get helltide at a time, but sometimes you get 3, at which point, if you're lucky and the helltide starts at :30, you can potentially get 6 chests in one run.

It doesn't matter much when the respawn happens. as long as you can get 2 chest before respawn. You just save up the rest of the run for another 2 chests and even if its very late respawn, you still have time to pick up the extra 2 since you already have the 175+175 saved up.

They need to buff the unique drop rate chance from helltide chests. Thats my main gripe. Having done about 3 helltides per day over the past week i havent gotten a single unique which is ridiculous. Maybe some qol. Like actually letting us know what the chest is rather than just saying "protection".

You could also run Helltide on nightmare, farm the cinders and locate the mystery chest, leave game and enter into torment and claim the chest. This might be a little easier for less equipped players maybe?

Been doing this for more than a week now, only got a 6 chest run once in Khejistan helltides, imo that's the best helltides spawn location since events are spread in a long line along the 3 zones and you can just tp back to the capital when you're done with the last event up in the north.

I think while the Hell tide is down there should be something else to do, maybe switch between 3 different activities in the open world to do, but make sure something is always up. (Excluding the tree)

My friend plays the German version. In the German version the tooltip of the chests on the map only says “Chest of …” because apparently the tooltip window is too small. Talk about infuriating.
