Congratulations Alex for wrestling 7th (out of 900!!!) in the state. That's a lot of tough competition to go through.

Was it 900 wrestlers or schools?
@danield87772 жыл бұрын
A Dumbeldore he said high schools. Also even if it is high schools California is a very hard state to compete in for high school. California is ranked 6th in the country overall when it comes to wrestling. Illinois is ranked 5th, Ohio is ranked 4th, Minnesota is ranked 3rd, Iowa is ranked 2nd, and ranked first is Pennsylvania.

@@EMWMIKE sounds like 900 high schools with wrestling programs. That's a ton of kids.

It’s a lot more than 900 because he’s better than the people who couldn’t start at those schools

Awesome Alex . People don't realize CA is a 6 day (2 cif, 2 masters, 2 state) tournament for state. Where the street other states that only have a 1 day.

Thanks for the Throw By technique. A few month ago, I tried this on a 280lb wrestler, he stepped back, put his weight on my arm as I was engaging to do the throw by and tore my right pec muscle. Then I was told to ensure my shoulder was at least part way under my opponent's armpit. My mistake, and it was a painful one that cost me to opportunity to come down and train with you guys again. LOL Getting strong again and hope to be through there soon.

4:30 Same kinda thing in Sumo. You can slap and palm strike so hard in sumo that you win if you KO them, not because you KOd them but because by KOing them you forced their body to hit the floor. However, to reign that in a little, it is illegal to bring your arms out wide past the plane of your body before hitting. It's also illegal to hit with a closed fist.

Collar and under like that makes for a great pinch headlock and a 1-2 move combo.

Like you demonstrate at the end. It seems like its way to easy to headlocked here. Will that little shoulder shrug really stop a strong opponent from clamping down and sagging you to the ground?

I find myself in the throw by position a lot when I roll, so I'm thinking about trying it into a double leg or back take. Edit: got some double legs using modified throw by positions from BJJ rolls today.
