Maybe lactose if you're lactose intolerant. And casein/whey if you get inflammatory response to it (such as acne). But keep in mind that fermented dairy such as natural yogurt and kefir have (almost) zero lactose since it was used up in the fermentation process. Yeah, unfortunately, doctors who mention "leaky gut syndrome" and claim it as a supposed issue seem iffy to me (there is not substantial research to A. say that it is a concerning issue or B. that it even exists--most practitioners and physicians consider it a myth). Especially those who claim gluten is not good for those who aren't intolerant or have celiac disease when the research overall claims the exact opposite. While there are a host of problems that can affect those with gluten intolerance or celiac when they continue to consume gluten products, the opposite is true for those not suffering. I really like his videos, but this one was a bit sketchy considering the claims he made towards the end that don't reflect the evidence....

There are problems with diets that unfortunately lead to serious deficiency diseases. When sugar, dairy casein, milk sugar or gluten are deprived, along with other important vitamins, minerals and trace elements, proteins, collagen. There are foods that contain the undesirable substances, but also contain many other things that our body needs, but by dieting we deprive ourselves of these too. That's when it comes to making up the shortfall with dietary supplements. When the waiter at the restaurant asks me what kind of food I'd like to order, I usually say, "Guilt-free. This all sounds very good and I am vegan and I absolutely love this channel and all of Dr. Youn's videos. 🤗But here are some examples, how to deal with this? Steve Jobs, a fan of fruits and vegetables, passed away so early. Russian actor Savely Kramorov, who also fanatically follows the diet and ate only fruits and vegetables. Both died very early. And there are a bunch of such examples.🙂 And now, my grandmother was a huge lover of sweets, her diet consisted of 99% of rice and barley porridge with a lot of sugar, corn, potatoes, and various baked goods, she DIDN'T EAT ANY FRUIT AT ALL (as well as vegetables in principle) and lived to be 95 years old, and even 90 had a wonderful figure as in her youth. Her husband - my grandfather - ate basically the same thing as a grandmother (not surprising, she served food for him))) and he also lived to be 90, did not eat any fruits and vegetables at all.🙄 I don’t argue, I’m just wondering how can explain these examples? Just wonder.....🤷♀️🤔

Well I think that maybe your grandmother just had good genes or a good immune system. Also your examples probably had more stress than her since they were famous and being famous usually comes with much stress.

That is called anecdotal evidence and it's given very little weight by science (you're talking about 4 people out the billions on the planet). Your grandparents diet was still low on wheat gluten. Wow the second time I’m actually interested in an ad. Once upon a time I had the best probiotics that worked for me but the label had torn off. Oh man

I had been bloated for most of my adult life, no doctor could figure out why. The moment I dropped gluten , the bloat was gone

Green Valley Lactose Free Organic Lowfat Kefir -- I LOVE that stuff -- pour a little over some frozen blueberries and have it almost every night

Thanks for sharing! I had no idea there was lactose free kefir. Great idea about putting it on blueberries, they’re supposedly a super food.

I ordered the thryve gut health test it never showed up after waiting nearly a month I emailed them & just refunded me. If the warehouse or company is not up and running they should not be promoting it until they can give good service

This is amazing. Is Thryve available outside of the US?

Hi Dr. Youn! I love your videos and trust your advice, I’d be super interested in a video about healthy diet throughout the day. I.e. healthy breakfast, dinner, and lunch options. Thanks!

Eat everything but very little of everything. The thing is it is incredibly hard to eat little and very small quantities. It is just easier to eliminate food groups and avoid certain foods. Eating little quantity of everything is the hardest

Once again I'm a little dismayed with your advice regarding gluten. As a Coeliac, I advise it's NOT a good idea to avoid/cut out gluten if a doctor doesn't deem it medically necessary. People on gluten free diets are often low in folate, iron and other things and gluten free foods are generally higher in sugar and fat to compensate for what has been lost. Besides that, if you cut dairy or gluten out of your diet, you are increasing the likelihood your body will develop an intolerance to it. If you think you already have an intolerance or Coeliac Disease, please go see your doctor. There are financial and practical incentives for getting properly diagnosed, depending on what country you're in!
