Niels, this is a great series. Please, keep making these. You know, when I first tried out your episode-1 drill, from the starting position, I often tried to get the cue ball into the corner just to my left(3-4 cushions), and I nailed it on the first three tries. I thought that was odd since I was finding the speed control on some of the others much more challenging. Why was I so good at that one? Then, I realized that it was similar to the opening break in straight pool, which I used to play a lot. I was certain then that it is just a matter of repetition and putting in the time. All of the patterns will come natrually eventually. Again, keep making these. So many of us need better defensive skills.

Played this as a game with 2 players to 10 points. A conditional rule to add to game, is if calls out pocketing an object ball, knowing it will spot, then if its a good snooker on the placement on the spot it is worthy of a snooker point. Sometimes just no choice than to pocket a hanger left behind by the opponent. Adds to the training of respotting a ball, as in a 10 ball game with no early out, when the 10 is called to pocket.

Niels, thanks for these excellent videos. I love that your channel is growing fast! I‘m not a super big fan of the go pro shots, but I would recommend placing the camera above your vision center (right eye) so the cue is in the middle of the screen. Everyone should see their cue right below their vision center, so it looks weird seeing the cue a little off to the right. Hope this makes sense. Keep it up!

Niels, Hello. Spike Lewis here. I love looking at and practicing your video content! It has made me better! I really appreciate your image of the cue ball and where you are hitting the cue ball for the proper english. To me, what would make the shot demonstrations super powerful is a similar image that shows where you are striking the object ball with the cue ball. That element is super crucial, yet it's missing! For example, many of the examples in this video appear to show you striking the object ball with a half-ball hit, while others appear as if you are striking the object ball with a quarter-ball hit, but it's hard to tell. I find myself rewinding the shot many times just to see where you tried to hit the object ball. It would be awesome if you could simply show an image of the cue ball-object ball contact point. In my humble opinion, that's how you move your shot demonstrations from awesome to phenomenal!!

Playing competitive games using exercises/drills...cool idea. I would probably do more exercises and for a longer time if I adopted this practice. Your speed touch is absurdly good, for both balls...not a shocker, but just sayin'. My guess is a fair bit of that came from exercises like this. :-) Thx.

Terminator.. great video once again. When applying spins, do u favor one side of the cue tip. Example, f I am cutting a ball to the left with right spin, should I favor more the left side of the cue tip and vice versa? Thanks for the great lessons.
@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jean. I never really gave that much thought. I put more focus on the aiming and add a bit of spin, more spin or kind of maximum spin depending on what I need. What works good also is looking at the cue ball like a clock and putting for example 2 o’clock spin or 5 o’clock spin on the ball 👍🏼👍🏼

Great drill. Minimal overhead so I like it. I just realized you could have a beginner level with 3 balls too. I'm on a team that won't learn ball control cuz they won't do drills. Does anybody have any ideas for a tiny modification to standard 8-ball that will teach them? For instance, my latest attempt is "I'll give you ball in hand every time you make a ball and land in the center of the table".
@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen3 жыл бұрын
For 8ball, break and take ball in hand after the break for example. Also brainwash drill, 15 balls on the table, take ball in hand. Run out in any order but not allowed to touch a cushion or contact another ball. Great brain training! 😀💪👍

Can you play too much safeties? With out throwing your game off
@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen3 жыл бұрын
A player can be too passive and then he's avoiding taking any risk. In my opinion safeties play a big part in the game but it's a setup for offense. You won't win games with just relying on safes alone.😀💪👍
