I feel that healthy testosterone levels are a result of general good health. Diet, exercise and sleep are all part of it. Exercise only raises testosterone around the time of the exercise.

Agreed. If you get into an accident or something bad happens, I certainly understand that but, otherwise, sleep, diet, sun, exercise and simple steps first.

I went from 334 to 960 in around 3 months all natural no TRT. This book should be essential reading for all men. Written by a 50s guy with natural T levels higher than most 20s guys Complete guide to testosterone by james Francis

I've started fasting usually for like 14 or 15 hours maybe more maybe less im not strict on it, i take a supplement for vitamin d cause i live in scotland where the uv index is like 1 or 2 most of the year, i take a magnesium and zinc supplement but I'll try eat some variety of nuts that is high in micronutrients. I've also recently started using a magnesium spray on my balls cause i saw some thing about how your testicles can absorb things better than anywhere else on your body and i also had a bottle of magnesium oil that i was attempting to use for deodorant but realised a healthier diet and a hint of aftershave would fix any bad odours. I try sleep atleast 7 hours when i can but sometimes get 3 or 4 depending on life. Those sort of things supposedly help testosterone but i haven't ran any tests i just grow body hair a little quicker now and i feel a little more aggressive but that's about it though that could have something to do with being hungry and having an oil that stings on my balls. (I'm not actually hungry when i fast and the oil doesnt sting cause I'm not deficient in it apparently)

I remember when that idea of using magnesium like that first came out. I had a hard time believing it. Thank you for sharing this with us. I appreciate your honesty and candor.

Hi Dan, do you fast for 18/6 or are you less strict about it?

Generally, I’m pretty close to that yes. But it’s no big issue. The key for me is to get a good nights sleep drink a lot of coffee work out then eat.

I will say for some it's needed. I was one of those and never thought it would be me at 38. I have lived a healthy lifestyle and maintained a healthy weight. Never did any rec drugs and have barely drank. I got all my mineral and vitamin levels checked that are associated with testosterone. They were all fine. I felt so bad I just had to do something after trying just about everything. I will say I don't like how they try to match your total testosterone with the upper end of the reference range. It's deceptive because a naturals testosterone will peak in morning and down down the rest of the day. It will also go down with overtraining, stress, bad diet, poor sleep etc. You also have an unnaturally high free testosterone number compared to a natural with similar total testosterone numbers. My doctor and I decided on 100mg a week instead of the more typical 125-150mg a week. It's been a huge plus for me.

Your doctor is very good. I'm stunned at the amounts these places in Utah give to clients (these are places you can get lipo, skin peels, test, semaglutide, and "enhancements" all under one roof).

Everything seems to turn into life lessons (sadly). I sometimes feel like the dads on The Brady Bunch or Leave it to Beaver when I work with my athletes. "You know, son..."

Yup, every time I started exploring that space, I’d eventually get to a point in reading where I became bummed out, because, “what goes up must come down.” I guess proper TRT is slightly different. But for jamming extra hormones into your body for some temporary period of time for performance will always have an end date and a crash. And it just seems like such a bummer to have to be disenchanted at the end of it. What goes up must come down.

I think the phrase you were looking for, instead of 'take a hammer to it' was 'take a scalpel to it'. I think you probably know this and just couldn't come up with on the fly, but I had to comment because I rather enjoy a good turn of phrase.

Thanks for this, Dan. Someone near and dear to me starting using this stuff when he was only 30 years old. A few years later, he and his wife are having fertility issues. I'm not a doctor and I don't know all the details, but I've read that hormone treatments could be a factor. It's a lot to process.

Those stories from the real life are always hard to read. So many people I know I’ve died so young because of using things that will help them in the short term and hurt them in the law. Thank you for sharing this.
