How to Induce Sleep Paralysis Explained - Out of Body Experience - Scientific Explanation

In this video I explain how to reach sleep paralysis (also called the vibrational stage) in order to have an out of body experience (OBE).
In order to astral project you must get into sleep paralysis first. It is the gateway to astral projection. Most sources recommend staying really still, laying on your back to get into the vibrational state.
I recommend instead trying to wake yourself up during REM state. This is when you're dreaming and the chemicals Glycine and GABA are released into the body to paralyze you. Then you can lay there very still (no movement other than breathing and blinking) until you drift back into sleep paralysis.
So, set a timer (preferably one that you don't have to manually turn off) for around 90 minutes, 160 minutes, 270 minutes, or 360 minutes into your nightly 8 hours of sleep. This is when you're most likely to hit sleep paralysis.
The video has more information on the scientific perspective and how it works. But if you just want the method, you can look at the two paragraphs above and it should give you enough information to be successful.
Watch out for the corresponding video where I talk about how to leave the body after you reach sleep paralysis.

I have had more than a thousand out of body experiences starting when I was about 4 or 5 and continuing to this day, 62 years later. When I was in my 30s I became quite adept at doing it on purpose and was having OBEs 3-4x a week. My experiences have ranged from the mundane to the amazing. Not long ago I got into an argument with a physician online who was saying that sleep paralysis is dangerous and requires medical intervention. It was like talking to a wall, as it so often is with medical "experts," because they are among the most close-minded people I've ever met. If you're interested in this topic I recommend Robert Monroe's classic book Journeys Out of the Body. I do question the idea of a "scientific explanation," however, because science cannot prove or disprove out of body experiences. Science is based on measurement, and the only thing that can be measured with an OBE subject is the effect and not the experience itself, which is entirely subjective. One of the biggest issues with OBEs is fear. Since I began having these experiences when I was very young I never experienced fear of the process, but I have spoken with others who were scared to death that they would die or something terrible would happen to them. I have even encountered demonic beings on multiple occasions and learned a lot about how to handle them, but fear is a hindrance. I agree that the online videos and sounds are not of much help at all. OBEs happen for me when I am physically exhausted and/or very relaxed. Many times I am already not attached to the physical body and have to realize that this is the case; and then I can move about in the out of body state. Lastly, i read the work of a neuroscientist claiming that OBEs are actually a matter of the angular gyrus in the brain creating a FEELING of an OBE but it's really some sort of dissociation. Nonsense. This errant finding makes a couple of things obvious: 1. Scientists are failures at their own craft, because their findings are not repeatable and do not make sense in all cases; 2. Scientists cannot explain the cases wherein, as with my own experiences, the experiencer makes contact, is seen, and interacts with a witness who then corroborates the experience, 3. Nearly every OBE happens outside of a laboratory when the mental, physical, and emotional conditions are right, and laboratory experiments cannot replicate such conditions.

"Scientists cannot explain the cases wherein, as with my own experiences, the experiencer makes contact, is seen, and interacts with a witness who then corroborates the experience" As in? You seeing real world objects that are beyond your biological eyes' line of sight? Or your being seen by people (in their dreams)? Or your being seen by people in the real life (which sounds a little too far fetched, I'll admit)? Which is it?

I would love to have a chat with you about your OBE my friend, I’ve suffered from sleep paralysis since i was a teenager, I am in my 30s now but back then i attempted to leave my body through sleep paralysis and felt as if i did but fell right back into my body after feeing exited, after that every time i had sleep paralysis id feel short of breath and saw “demonic” beings like shadowy figures around me, when I grew older i learned that my mind was making me see this and every time I fell into sleep paralysis after that I never saw anything again, but i do feel like im floating and I’ve seen something strange every time this happens. 1. I see my room a bit more lightened even though it is pitch black. 2. I also sometimes start mumbling when i get overwhelmed or startled at the feeling of an intense magnetic vibration around my body and while i start floating i see my wife turn around and tapping my body to wake me up, which makes me wonder how the f… do i see her doing that if my eyes are closed and the room is pitch black? I always wake up after she taps me but how is it that i see her tapping me even when im turned away from her? 3. A friend i have to has confirmed to me that he’s trained and learned how to leave his body through meditation and not sleep paralysis and has been able to explain a lot to me to The point where now I’m extremely curious to try again, when these magnetic vibrations and floating feelings happened before it was like maybe once every 1 or 2 months, I’ve only started talking about this to my friend like for a week and I’ve now fallen into sleep paralysis consecutively every night and in the last 2 nights from me writing this comment I’ve felt the strong magnetic vibration through my body very intensely but wasn’t really able to leave my body. So please sir, hit me back and let me know how can i contact you because I rather speak and learn about this with a person who dominates this.

I had a SP episode about 4 years ago. I had little to no sleep for a few days beforehand and fell asleep on my back (unusual for me). These are two factors that increase the likelihood of SP. It was a very powerful, intense experience that must have lasted around 1/2 hour before I fully awoke feeling shocked and dazed. At the time I had never heard of SP. It was much like, but still distinctly different from, peaking on a hallucinogen. It wasn't entirely a scary, unpleasant phenomenon but it certainly blew my mind for awhile. I could feel myself slipping into that state again on two later occasions but I successfully focused all I could on waking completely by yelling and snapped out of it.

I find that sleep paralysis is easily lost when trying to ap. I've had many issues with this myself. My main advice for this is to relax and don't try too hard to go out of body. Focus your awareness to another point outside of your body. I find that if I'm relaxed and confident and don't push too hard, I am able to get out pretty easily.

Click bait title. Nearly ten minutes of telling us what happens during sleep paralysis, but no mention on how to achieve conscious sleep paralysis. There is no point in telling people they should wake themselves up during REM sleep without explaining how! When a person is in REM sleep they are not aware of their state of mind, so how can you wake yourself up from it?
@TheDiamondNet

I recommend setting a timer or using an alarm then turning it back off and getting back to a still position. But be sure to set the timer/alarm for around the time the REM cycle occurs. I thought I had mentioned this in the video.

Thank you so much! I've been "plagued" by sleep paralysis ever since I was a kid. Another tip to triggering them, or what has always worked for me, is taking naps during the day, and going to bed at different times - anything to consistently disturb my sleep cycle - in addition to also sleeping on my back most nights. Give it a couple of weeks, and you'll start triggering. Also, SP is harder to achieve laying on your side, which is useful when trying to prevent it from happening at all, like me over the last 5 years or so lol. That said, the buzzing - or vibrations as you call them - have always scared me, because I didn't understand what was happening, until your video. I've asked around and most of the people I know who claim to have SP don't have any clue what I'm talking about. Regardless, I'm not a fan. They're almost painful... I can feel the vibrations literally in my skull, in my brain. The same thing happens when I lucid dream and attempt to control the dream, I can feel the vibrations coming from my right hemisphere, which is wild. I suspect the two are connected. Anyway, I've never heard it called "the vibrational state". Pretty fascinating.. And much less terrifying than believing that I was having a seizure of some kind, ha. I'd really like to try and have an OBE. Guess it's time to dive back into SP. Thanks again, you've released much of the uncertainty I've been holding onto.

I’ve had the same experience. Disturbing your normal sleep cycle, at least for me, will guarantee sleep paralysis. Never have read anyone else saying the same. Even people who practice lucid dreaming regularly. Also the vibration, had never been able to explain it, nor anyone would understand what I was experiencing when having SP. Initially just thought I was having a seizure. When it happens long enough times you just get used to it, even finding joy in it. There is just something fascinating about sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming . Such and strange experience and very different form everything in life. I think is a bless in disguise to be able to do it naturally. Very interesting comment all around

I've had sleep paralysis all my life and was always afraid when it happened. Tons of scary hallucinations.. one led to an OBE where I was being dragged out of bed by my legs. I haven't had much success with the advicated "keep still" methods to induce SP for an OBE. But last week as my work schedule changed to working night shift, I found it really easy to voluntarily go into SP in my off days. I guess it's because my body wasn't fully accustomed to being awake at night, but I was slightly rested and alert. That night I was able to pound out three amazing OBEs back to back. They were beautiful! Anyway, sorry for the long post. I'm going to try your method right now but I'm a bit emotionally anxious, hopefully it won't be another bad experience.

The main thing is to be able to know that you can control the state. If you don't know how to bring yourself up out of it quickly, then it can make you feel trapped. So, that's scary. What's helped me, is to know that I can always get out of sleep paralysis and that I can close my eyes if I get scared. I move the small muscles in my abdomen and that helps me get out of it in seconds and it's reliable. I know it will work every time. You can also move other small muscle groups like fingers and toes. But the main thing is being able to relax into the state and having control over the vibrations. Once you get the vibrations right, getting out of body is more easy to do.

Came here from this happening when I was trying to fall asleep. Heard of this stuff before and I tried it once when younger, but this just sort of happened when I was thinking to myself as I laid with my eyes closed. I sort of felt like everything - not sure what I mean by that = coalescing into my brain, like a... mass that felt warm in a way but not. I became aware of an odd feeling and noticed I kept forgetting the breathe. I know that sounds funny, but I mean like I noticed that there was a bit of my brain, mind, awareness, that was always focusing on it, subconsciously, by realising I didn't notice it anymore. Obviously it shocked me back into myself with a strange feeling of... like when someone jabs you in the side and you just get that jolt go through your body. Intrigued, I kept calm and tried it again, it took a while but I got there again but this time it was harder because I knew what I wasn't supposed to be noticing (thanks brain). I kind of felt like something was coming out of my body as I breathed out and wondered if it was me, I kind of had a split second perspective shift and it just continued to bounce back, like my mind or whatever I was monologuing. with, was being sucked back in by my breath, or rather my perception of it that I was the one doing it. I sort of felt an epiphany about the way I usually perceive things and felt a kind of splitting of my perspective.. Kind of like a bubble, stretching out and forming two orbs, but never separating fully. I kept thinking if I went somewhere who would be doing the breathing and it made me wonder that I might die if I did. The thought brought this rushing feeling like falling and I was "awake" again, sitting up quickly like I'd just woken from a nightmare. I'm not even sure if I'm looking forward to going to sleep again. Sorry for the word wall, I'm just feverishly typing it out more to enforce it to memory, but I think I might have found a new hobby. Edit: It felt like an hour maybe, turned out to be about two and a half.

I've induced sleep paralysis naturally, I used eye mask to aid help myself. Few months ago, I was scared of sleep paralysis so much that I decided to reduce it, after realizing its a gateway for lucid dreaming and astral projection, I induced it watching tutorials. Now when I go in the state, I am not even scared, but still scared, because I have fear that sleep paralysis will end 😎😎

I'm curious about performing an OBE myself, but I have used sleep paralysis to enter into a WILD Lucid dream before. The method I used is this, I spend 10 min. exorcising before bed, 30 min. to 1 hour looking at lucid dreaming & sleep paralysis vids afterwards. (Triggers determination) I then set a Lucidology timer, (Free to download at their website) to go off at 5:00am, then 1 hour increments until I wake up. at 12:00 I meditate for 20 min. in the dark, after that I just go to bed & fall asleep, (can't trigger sleep paralysis first thing, even though I heard of rumors of people that can...) I just let sleep come normally as comfortable as I can, eventually the timer will go off on my computer, (make sure it's not too loud to startle you & make you jump, if it does, it'll still work, it's just be a little longer though.) Once woken by the alarm I stay still in a relaxed manner, (I don't roll on my back even though they say it's easier... it's not for me.) I try not to focus at first, just let my mind drift a bit, when I feel like I could lose myself I then switch a little focus on my body, if I start to get hyper then I'll lose focus & drift again on purpose, If I feel my legs suddenly get uncomfortable, it means I'm close, I switch focus back the the feelings of my legs, but still stay relaxed & unmoved. Sometimes I even accidentally drift asleep, but because of my desire to trigger sleep paralysis I sometimes wake back up without the alarm only to not move again & shifting focus when needed. eventually the uncomfortable feeling suddenly feels like a heavy blanket being unrolled over me starting at my feet & all the way to my head, I can even feel a pleasurable tingle\vibrational sensation from the blanket as it leaves from it & absorbs into my body, it even comes with an unusual sound as well, sometimes with whispering & noises as if people are in my room. This is when I shift focus from my body to an image in my mind, if all goes well & I don't fall asleep, (still possible at this stage.) my dream forms around the mental focus point & eventually, I'm in dream land. weirdly I focus on a tip of a slice of pizza, just the corner, that very same pizza is my reward when I step into lucidity, tastes just like the real deal, after my treat, party time! Don't force sleep paralysis, or you'll get insomnia, treat it like a brand new pet that's scared of you but also curious, beckon it, but don't force it, let it choose to come to you.

So far this is the most acceptable explanatory of how astral projection should work for everybody. I experienced astral projection few times and I also stumbled upon a word from wikipedia says abt autoscopy. Which is during our conciousness leaving body, we are simultaneously generate the scope of our surrounding based on our memory which results in us to be able to look and move surrounds our projected conciousness realm. Some may also seeing different result if their tried to see themselves into mirror/reflectable surface or turning back to see themselves using astral body. As for me I have negative austoscopy of seeing myself which said that I can not seeing my physical body during my astral body exiting from their completed human form. And my movement form are also limited as my sleeping position. But my sense of reaching to see places around me are free. Except I never yet try astral traveling to outside of my house. Still figuring the way how my astral body can actually pass through the solid wall. Also through my observation before, when I accidently astral travel from my body during very early morning, I noticed that the sky astral form are actually dark as starless night. things surrounds me are still visible in a dimmer light. The sensation of out of body is comparably similar as we lucid dreaming. Feel as if we touch a things but in physical form its not there. Human body is very mystical arsenal if we can utilize it properly

I never thought or it never hit me that I should talk about this online, what with the enormity experiences of other people I read on a daily basis -until just now when I read of one of us talking about her experience; that's when I realized I had been so dumb not to have, all long. This must have been about a month ago but I'll never forget this experience. It was my first conscious sleep paralysis experience and I'm so proud of it. I had been OBEing without sleep paralysis till about a decade ago, till I read about OBEs and realized for the first time that it was not a freak phenomenon but a normal human faculty. Well when I read that SP (so to speak) was a must for OBEs then I got confused as to why my SP had never preceded my OBE -or at least I wasn't aware of it; I must have been an "illiterate" projector. But ever since my intellect imbibed this information, it became a block for me OBEs as I was not just comfortably and solitarily or unitarily simulating my wishes but wondering, unfortunately, if I was missing the SP part. And that dropped like a big pile of fuck on me. So this time, this thing happened to me when I had been least expecting but determined nevertheless; to say that it was a period when I had done a lot of reading on astral projection then. Well then this i what happened; and it was wierd. Now I had experienced the "monster" bit right the previous night (back then). I'll explain: At my feet (I had been lying down across a king-sized bed, and over my left-shoulder, but honestly not fully asleep at all) but in the dark, totally -save for some vivid but faint already-present silhouettes- I FUCKING SWEAR there was an abomination standing there, with a deranged head and only the upper jaw; it was pretty fast I hadn't taken in much detail; and for the shortest second it had raised its upper "paws, mostly claws" (but only I could tell, the shadows illustrated what I had dreaded or merely needed) yeah for a short second raised and BANG! brought it down at my feet. I was so convinced that i had been "touched" that my brain was waiting for the feeling (also in that super-short period) -but I hadn't panicked but definitely a little spooked; To betray my uh spook, I called out "appa?" (Tamil for Father). But I had realized in another quick second that no, it was the... I had experienced the "beast I had read about." And I had noticed, while still lying over my left shoulder, my arms bunched together but just at the fingers, and relaxed, my left wrist was vibrating at a pretty high frequency. Then the tremor spread to my fingers and all the way up the arm but, to my disappointment, down the other arm. I had expected that it'd hit the rest of my body till it found its way to my right arm but... because they were kind of entangled in each other perhaps. But right then I was just really excited and carelessly stretched my arms (and how the fuck had that happened? They were supposed to be paralyzed?) and killed the vibration and turned over and spread-eagled over my belly and snoozed. WTF right? The phenomenon had never repeated itself ever since what with my conscious OBEs having stopped a decade ago. There; this be my experience. Hope it upgrades the "conscious" global-consciousness.

Thanks, Emerald. I recommend "The Art and Practice of Astral Projection" by Ophiel. His methods work for me. My personal favorite is to visualize a bending from the waist of the astral body leading to controlled separation from the body as I lie on my back when going to sleep. Yes, there are many other techniques which work. Learning the experience is rather like learning to ride a bicycle. it takes practice. Metta.

Everytime I've had SP, I experience what to me feels like I'm being electrocuted right before SP takes ahold. So if I'm not in the mood for it that night, I jolt myself awake when I feel the "volts" of electricity coming on, and roll over on my side. It's definitely a gnarly experience and one I've had over 20 times now. The first 3-5 were terrifying with demons in the room and on me, but now I just think of where I want to go/do and it works. No joke it really works

Oh, I believe this is the "void" if your in that state you need to try harder. Think of yourself above yourself and you see your sleeping self. Or something like that. And maybe if you feel floaty try saying "give my clarity" and you should be able to see. Not sure though Goodluck :D

it is the void state but not to worry there a couple ways out 1) you can walk around and try to find your way out or 2) you can set the intent to go somewhere your familiar with for most people the second option is more effective... if all else fail then remember your 3D physical body and try to wake up

yes, but that's not the point. I don't think this is spiritual at all, I think what happens is you fall into a sort of dream state with certain parts of the brain staying active but sense of location is busted so you feel as if your not in your body so you generate an out of body experience. your looking at it the wrong way to understand this semi complex process. as Einstein said "we can't solve our problems with the same thinking that created them".

David Chuha I've been having sleep paralysis and out of body experience for 14 years, and I've had a handful of encounters with negative entities. I've had shapeshifters pose as family members and significant others a couple times. I've been drug out of body and manipulated by invisible forces. And once I even saw a man in my hallway that was made entirely out of long black braided screws. Most of the time, though, my experiences are neutral or positive. This is especially true in recent years. Either way, I appreciate the ability to explore a version of reality without the limitations and concerns that come along with the physical body.

***** Well, one posed as my boyfriend coming home from work early. I talked to him for a little bit, but his personality was off. So, when I laid back down, he jumped on me and started biting my shoulder very hard. The other time it was a dead-eyed version of my closest family members trying to beckon me to come into the room with them. The whole thing had a very creepy vibe to it. But I didn't go in there, so I don't know what their intentions were. It just felt super creepy to see a zombie-like version of my parents, husband, and sister motioning for me to come in.

Sleep paralysis is the gateway to having an out of body experience. Out of body experiences are like lucid dreams that feel 99% real. They are almost indistinguishable from waking life. You can explore the world, fly, interact, and experience many things without the fear of harm to the body or reputation. Plus, it's a means of self-exploration.
@shekool18
@shekool18 8 жыл бұрын
I've been having them since I was 12. Last time I had one was last night. I fully understand the science behind it but it is still frightening. I would not encourage anyone to put themselves through that. Trust me I understand that lucid dreams are nice but you still don't get to chose what to dream about or what type of dream to have. It just means that you can control what happens in the dream.

Sheku Sillah I understand your apprehension. Sometimes, sleep paralysis can be very uncomfortable and even frightening. If you ever want to snap yourself out of it, I recommend moving the small muscles in your abdomen. When I do this, the paralysis and vibrational sounds go away almost instantly. The main thing is to just try to go back to sleep right afterward. If you get up and try to do something, you run the risk of having an OBE and not realizing it.
@bartvanaudenhove

+The Diamond Net No you *cannot* explore the world with OBE, stop telling that to people. It's *not true*. I repeat the neuroscientific experiment carried out: person claimes to be able to hover close to the ceiling and look down through OBE; scientists put paper with written code on top of closet, visible from the ceiling; person has OBE but on return cannot tell the code. You *do not* fly around in the world, there's nothing going anywhere, you're just *hallucinating*. See Dick Swaab "We are our brains". Talking about OBE is one thing; teaching people how to do it, well, why not, whatever rocks your boat; but at least *don't lie* about it. The day you can OBE-fly over and then mail me the code on my VISA card, I might change ideas. Until then, stick with facts please. OBE does exist, of course, but only as a form of hallucination. You are deluding people. And probably yourself. If you truly want to make a worthwhile attribution to the world, stop deluding.

I have recently been delving into declassified C.I.A. research on this topic and it is compelling, to say the least. Especially when you cross-reference ancient Yogi, Hindu, and Buddhist teachings as well as modern quantum information/physics/mechanics science. Very compelling. Also, I would like to add that science shows us there are two states of existence; matter and energy. Our bodies (made of matter) are merely electro-chemical machines that our souls (made of energy) "pilot" in order to interact with the material world. The ancient teachings of Eastern religions along with the modern science of Quantum mechanics show us that consciousness is not limited to the grey matter between our ears. And if we can break out of the box that is our "mind" we can manipulate reality, and even time travel between dimensions of time-space, to go beyond the four dimensions of our bodies and consciousness that we experience in this limited reality.

Like saying why would you want people being born when there are bad people in the world, it makes as much sense. This is not conjuring demons it is entering another plane of existence that your little "Churchy" would rather you didn't explore as you might discover the truth. So they invoke and induce a lot of fear to control your mind and actions. Just like bad spirits exist in this world the same is true for the spiritual realms, but it is easy enough to prevent them from harming you.

I had it last night, with my experience, I knew I had sleep paralysis, and I heard a LOUD ringing noise, I'm not very sure how to describe it. I heard of the fact that your mind could play tricks and I shut my eyes close, I'm waiting for the ringing to stop. I'm paralyzed and I wanted to try something. I imagine that one of my relatives died, and I saw their dead body. It scared the crap out of me and I feel that feeling of paralysis is fading, and I try to move, and GUESS WHAT? IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I am scares with my eyes still shut. I want to feel protected, so I imagine my dog. There he is. ITS FINALLY FADING AGAIN... I get out finally and I'm shook. I am shaking and I can not stop, so I get up can drink water. I didn't want to go back to sleep. It's hope I get it again, it was a little fun messing with my mind deliberately.

I have been having sleep paraisis for 29 years. I was scared. I thought I was alone I thought I was crazy. But then I heard about old hag syndrome. I read so many stories and now I feel better knowing I can talk to someone about it

Hey! Your husband was at my house the other day to do video for his pitch and he told me you had this channel. I have had these experiences my whole life, but I never took that much time to educate myself on what was happening. Very cool vid. You know your stuff!

Thank you for checking out my video, Marshall! :) I have a few others that relate to sleep paralysis and OBE as well, if you're interested. It's a very interesting and intense phenomena. It can be uncomfortable at times, especially if a person doesn't know how to control the experiences or especially if they don't know how to snap themselves out of SP. I'm still trying to have more control over it myself, despite having it for about 14 years now. I get hung up on the getting up and moving around while in the state of SP, which is necessary to have OBEs. But when I can control it, I can have a lot of interesting and liberating experiences. Have you had OBE's as well?

Yea, I actually did a video about it last year on my channel talking about some of the OBE's and astral projection experiences I've had. Started having them pretty young, around 10 years old, so about 14 years now for me too. They stopped in the past couple years, but I still get them from time to time.

i remember the most real experience of out of body was the shadow being actually moving during sleep paralysis, the entity ran away as i was coming close to it since i wasn't parallelized anymore so i guess it was an OBE and i had proof it was real because one of my lights was flashing off my desk at the time and when i woke up it still was flashing. So obviously the thing i saw was real i always thought is it really a hallucination these dark shadows? I was in a very calm state to try and got out of my body so quickly and i did but when i had fast heart rate and i panicked because i felt my body getting cold and vibrations thats when i woke up, i could not even go past the shadow figure it was blocking my way to try and astral project really. Unless it was astral projecting + hallucinating, it was real because while the lights where flashing on my desk and my eyes where opened i saw it standing there so i was really calm i left my eyes closed because i was thinking oh shit its here again on my ceiling just calm down and blink my eyes, still saw it there and of course i knew my body was numb it happens so many times to me im sick of it so after that i was calm i quickly jumped out or rolled out my body and when i went to the door the shadow figure with the white face moved very quickly either away from me because it got startled and didnt think i would get out of body. I cant really call this entity a hallucination if i saw my damn lights flashing right next to it or behind it, everything in the room was exactly how it was when i OBE during sleep paralysis and if it was a hallucination then you might as well call it a good magic trick. The worst first experience i ever had of sleep paralysis was 12 years old and it was 2 days in a row just happened to be some random night that's why i can't get over some fear of it and sleeping on my back is terrible ever since it happened the first time 20 yrs back i just cant sleep on my back again its become a condition. Would love to astral project if i could get it right though.

I've had sleep paralysis and it was a scary experience. I just remember I was laying on my stomach when I woke up but I couldn't move my hands or legs or feet. I couldn't even talk or yell but I could move my eyes, I felt like crying. I remember just seeing a figure in the corner of my open closet. I was terrified so I just tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't so i closed my eyes. After that I felt vibrating on my back and stomach. I felt like there was something on me, I thought it was my dogs but they were in the other room as I recall. Something I never want to go through again but was exciting so I am here.

Great Video. I've seen many about the subject, but you explain thing very well. I look forward to your next video about what to do when you're in sleep paralysis.. If I may ask a question, since you've had many OBE experiences, I'm still trying to figure out something. Are OBE simply a lucid dream about getting out of your body... Or is your "spirit" (or what ever) actually travelling to new planes of reality. I've heard stories of people saying during an OBE they can visit their friend and say what he was doing at that moment... Or recall the name of the book next to his bed... Are OBE purely inside your mind (like a dream) or can you actually experience real events with your conscientiousness? Any info from an expert would be appreciated... Thanks

Thank you! :) I find that the reality experienced during OBE is uncannily similar and real feeling, but diverges from reality in some ways. I'm not sure if the metaphysical perspective is true/untrue. I just sort of hold space for either possibility since we can never really know beyond a shadow of a doubt how real or unreal the experience is. But during the experience, it feels so real that I definitely treat it as though it is real.

Sleep paralysis and the vibrational state are 2 different states. During sleep paralysis the vibrations are not detectable. Conscious sleep paralysis is quite scary as it is in my experience always accompanied by what appears to be a malevolent presence. This I believe is just a fear test. The vibrational stage is totally different and is like a massive rushing of energy waving throughout your body, often accompanied by noise. Once the whole thing starts to smooth out you can just roll out of your body as if rolling out of bed.

I'm usually afraid of sleep paralysis. mostly being afraid of what i dont know. few weeks back, I was in sleep paralysis but this time I said there's nothing to be afraid of and lets go! . my body starts to shake violently and then I felt like i was floating. I saw my wife and daughter sleeping from the ceiling but i cant control my movement. I then returned to my body. I tried to induce sleep paralysis again but Im not able to astral project this time. but i recall a faceless being sitting next to my bed holding my arms . he wore white robe and a turban. he is faceless but I can see his smile. I think the key to astral project is sleep paralysis. thank you this video is very informative.

I know that it has nothing to do with this but when I sleep 13h I have more and longer dreams, and it makes sense now, given that we dream in the REM stage.

I have it when I sleep on my back. Something about cutting airways to the brain reduces oxygen to muscles or paralysis. When I get them, some one was chasing me or something. More panic than scared. Ive had OBE years ago. I would like to have more.

I experience it at least 3-4 times within a work week at a time ! Sometimes when I’m working a double date at work I can for sure know I may experience one at night or when I’m super tired .and I hate it with a passion I wouldn’t wish the experience on my worst enemy it’s not fun not being able to move when your body thinks it’s up 😢 I wish it was a cure or something because it makes me scared at times
