The strain relief clamp that came with my new 3-prong cord does not fit in the small hole on my new whirlpool range. I'm hoping my local building supply store has it.

My wires are not colored so I have to use multimeter to fix it.

Make sure your breakers matches your range amperage It can be more than the range amperage A50 amp breaker would not protect a 40 amp cord

why is one a 3 prong and one a 4 prong? I am putting in an old electric range, and this is the second video I have seen. BUt, the range im trying to put in looks like this one with the bolts sticking out. We had to buy a newer 3 prong chord, but the range doesnt turn on. So, im wondering if im dealing with a 4 prong

As long as you got a black on black and red on red or vice versa and the white neutral in the middle it should work, and put green on the metal to ground it,
