How to install a Back glass seal on a 1956 Ford Pickup

In this video we show you the steps to install a Back glass seal. This method will work on most cars and trucks from the 30's to the late 70's . We demonstrate this on the rear window of a 1956 Ford pickup.

Great video and instructions, but what about all this sealant you claim one needs? You never mentioned that! Some claim sealant is needed others say no! Which is it?

I appreciate the video, however, you said one of the tools needed was thew glazing compound and I never saw you use it. I checked your windshield install as well, and you didn't use it there either, and both videos say your install is complete?

The glazing compound is optional as shown in the graphic. Some will use the compound after the install by lifting the lip and using the caulking gun to apply a bead under the gasket. Thank you for your input.

I just ordered the back glass seal from your website for my 69 Ranchero. I hope installation goes this well. I wonder how much was edited out, lol.

That weatherstripping fits a lot better then mine does. Mine is about 2 inches too long. Figured I could possibly cut the seam and reseal once shortened?

Thanks, Dennis for posting. I am wondering if it is very possible to re-use the older gasket on new fixed rear door window on a 1990 Econoline Van that was burgularized? Your insight would be helpful and appreciated. I realize it would not be reccommended but a spare part is unobtanium, afaik.

I bought one of your gaskets for the rear of my 1970 F250. Which side is the inside and which the outside? One side is round and the other has a bevel. Also it does not seem to have any shape, but I see you put the "bar" on the bottom. C7TZ-8142084-A
