Do you have to turn engine over to engage lever on camshaft,? Or just take off and install new pimp?

Just refurbished the original pump (AC type E) on my 35x - it must be old as it says "made in England" above the sediment bowl. Despite that pump not having a priming lever they managed to make the body so close to the right hand nut it has to be fiddled off with an open-ended spanner a 1/12 of a turn at a time. Also the actuating lever on that one drops down so far you need to slide a thin blade up between the pump and the block to lift it onto the cam when re-fitting. Maybe that's why they don't say made in England on them any more 8-)=
