What type fasteners were used?

This bracket ships with fasteners included. Here is what we send. (3) 1/4" x 2" flat phillips tapping screw AND (3)1/4" x 2" flat phillips wood screw - zinc.

Screws supporting the brackets into the brick do not look long enough

Still holding strong today, but YES, always use fasteners you feel confident with because no one wants their Mantel supports to fail.
