HOW TO Install HOOD PINS!!

If your looking for a cheap and effective way to spice up the appearance of your ride then consider a set of hood pins. They gave my car a more aggresive look and i couldnt be any happier with the decision.

Thank you Brad I'm putting a set of these on my supercharged Grand Prix. I see one of the comments saying why would you put aftermarket hood pins on when you have a perfectly good working Hood latch.. it's because when you have thousands of dollars worth of upgrades and mods under your hood. It's easy to smash your window and pulled the hood latch. But now with these security locks on your Hood. You can now ensure higher safety. Like my father always said. "Locks only keep honest people out. If someone wants to get in bad enough they'll get in no matter what". R.I.P Frank Walter Rahm

Cool video but I used white lightning grease or any type of grease for my markers for the Hood

For future reference for your next pin job cotton swabs with paint on them at the tips of your pins this will ensure a solid marking on the bottom of your hood.

Why do you need hood pins if you have the factory hood latch

Because the hoods on these cars catch a lot of air on the highway.

B_Mautofied The whole point of the hood pins is for any hood lighter than metal so it does not fly open in high speeds. Metal does not need them unless you were just doing it for style.

I suppose they could but honestly I bought them for the look and the fact that the hood rattles on the highway. If ppl are trying to steal your engine parts they must be pretty desperate lol

@@BradzBuildz Thx for the reply,but the locks are an anti theft device/deterrent, thieves have no problem breaking into a vehicle, but if it wont start they'll immediately try to access the engine compartment, if the locks have a universal key,then problem solved, unless you do something else to disable the vehicle that prevents it from starting, my pt earlier wasn't to steal car parts,if they can buy a kit and access the engine compartment and get the vehivle running they'll already have the whole car to strip down ,so in addition to the locks you need to b clever enough to hide a kill switch very well or something that will prevent the vehicle from starting

Hi I came across your video I know it's 2 years old curious to know how are your hood pins holding up? . I have a 1988 S10 Chevy pickup truck I have a metal tonneau cover that I had made with a piano hinge that gives me access to the gas tank I wanted to put these type of hood pins through the aluminum tonneau cover but I'm reaching out to you to find out what yours are like after 2 years of use. How is the quality of the material these are made out of? Hope to hear back from you thank you

I actually sold the car to a friend and they ended up getting rusty and wouldn’t turn so he changed them out for the style that pops open

They stay lined up and yes they are worth it. My hood was getting some lift at high speed but not anymore

I got them on eBay. I would recommend buying a better style. These didn’t hold up to the rain and snow.

They work great. You just might have to re tighten them every once in a while or use lock tight. They also give the car a much better look
