Is there a way to get just the updated brackets?
@QA1TECH4 жыл бұрын
@@b2customs696 You can, but the shock length is different from the old kit shock length. So you would at best still be at stock ride height. You wouldn't be able to go lower. You would most likely need a new spring as well. Please give our tech team a call and they will be able to answer your questions!

The bolts and nuts closest to the wheels is a real B-ooch. You have to be a magician to even get the nut on the hole. I why did you guys leave that part out of the video? Any suggestion out do I need to have it welded. The only anyone could get that in is to raise the body.

I just experienced a frustrating experience with my rear QA1 coilovers vs my New Exhaust. The people that were installing the QA1's sait that I would have to remove & redirect my exhaust system.. I probably wouldn't have purchased the shocks if I new I needed to hack up my exhaust system...🤔

I bought a 1964-67 A-Body Ford 9 Inch Housing/Axles with Coilover Suspension using QA1 coil overs from Speedway Motors. The axle housing they show in their ad has the shock and trailing arm brackets reversed from all the videos I've watched about this install. They have the shock mount inboard of the trailing arm bracket. Will this even work? Looks like the upper shock mount sets the geometry of the shock. However, the housing they sent me has the shock mount outboard but their mounts don't allow for the lower bracket to be mounted to the side. Your bracketry does fit if I remove the piece that bolts to the side of the mount but I still question if this will work. I hope this makes sense. I've been in contact with them but they are not the experts so I'm hoping you can help me determine if this will work before I get too far along in the install. Thank you
@QA1TECH2 жыл бұрын
The brackets were engineered around the factory housing. If this housing is different from factory, it may not work or would need modification. We have not test fitted on this housing, so we cannot confirm if it will work or not.

I have a 72 Monte Carlo. I want to go with the level 2 handling kit but with some changes to the rear. Instead of having coil overs in the rear I want to get the single adjustable stocker star shocks TS801 along with replacing the stock spring because I don't want to do any drilling. Would that be a good setup and produce great ride? Thanks
@albundyrocks21152 жыл бұрын
I'm in the process of installing this system in my '66 Buick GS. I notice that you avoid all questions related to the install of the top bracket. I can't see any way to get a nut on that third hole that needs to be drilled. So what's the option? weld in place? This bracket need to be redesigned because the third hole is useless if you can't get to it. Or am I missing something?

We are looking at installing this kit on my son's '69 ElCamino. Would you recommend the 150# (RCK52336), 175# (RCK52337), or other rate of springs for this application?
@QA1TECH2 жыл бұрын
Depending on what you are planning to do with the vehicle, we typically recommend the 150 lb. spring option.
@OOMAN2 жыл бұрын
@@QA1TECH ElCamino has a 383 Stroker, ~425hp, and a T-56 Magnum 6-speed conversion. Mostly street car use, but occasionaly carry some cargo, like a couple e-bikes which weigh 100# each, or other stuff. Should weigh between 1,550-1,600#, plus some cargo capacity (~50# more than the Chevelle's base weight) .

Are we supposed to remove the old springs? And is it ok to leave old springs in for support?

These coil-over setups are designed to bolt into the shock location and replace the factory shock and spring. We do not recommend keeping the old spring in.

Chevelle Guy , I began to install this kit in my 65 chevelle. After installing the upper bracket I found I couldn't install the upper shock bolt due to it hitting the frame. Any ideas as I don't want to weaken the frame in that area. Thanks for the help! PR

Some frames have an additional support gusset and you may need to install the shock into the bracket and then install the bracket into the frame.

While installing this system i.came across a couple poor engineering items. First upper plate is welded together which makes the eyelet for upper shock established. Issue is when ulyou install the 3rd bopt you have to drill for the plate is appx. 1/2" from touching. Which means once you tighten down.the shock.eyelet is no longer precise since it's welded amd was configured prior to you bending plate
