thank you for having this channel.. I went to join my local Olympic lifting club today and was so disappointed with the number of seemingly unfriendly people there.. so I will not go back! thank you 100 times because I have always wanted to properly improve my form in all my Olympic lifts

Awesome, just spent the last 30 minutes trying out your jerk technique, with the help of the internet I've finally learnt the proper form, love the post-jerkout feel.

Great informative video with each movement broken down. Most videos show you a bulk progression, but this is much more scientific.

Great videos, good top see the trainer has a mic on him, so many vids don't do this and it makes all the difference to the quality of watching. Thanks.

good stuff...I've hit a plateau with jerks to the point I had to separate cleans and jerks once I hit a certain weight. I think I'll incorporate this (and the second video) into my warm up. thanks!

More than likely tight traps are part of the problem. The higher you can get your elbows, the less hyper-extended your wrists need to be. Wrist mobility is easy to work on. Kneel on the floor place hands palms down, finger pointing at knees and gently sit back towards heals. Gymnasts have a lot of great wrist routines, they need way more wrist mobility and strength than oly lifters.

I have a question, I am 21 years old and weigh 70kgs. I have been doing cleans for a few months and can currently power clean 95kgs. However I really struggle catching the bar in a squat position. Is there anything you could recommend to incorporate into my training which would help lead into that movement? Any advice would be great.

@TheePineappleMonkey9 жыл бұрын
All technique bro my push press is the same as my jerk and it's because my jerk is more like a push press lol just keep working the technique and u will get itn

shouldn't his wrists be straight during press?
@Kian198707 жыл бұрын
jasiux I was thinking the same, his wrists were bent backwards during the press lol
@AlmondsAlmonguera7 жыл бұрын
its only cuz its light i think
@kisungkang31097 жыл бұрын
Kian19870 it's pretty normal as it's difficult to lift heavy weight with straight wrists so you'll often see them with wrist wraps.

No, I came here for the jerk video. I thought there might be one or two people out there who would get the humor of my comment. If any belittling or insulting was inferred I apologize, that was certainly not my intent.

No offense but imo this guy is a terrible coach. Has no idea how to relate the way your body should move into words.
@seanyworny1049 жыл бұрын
WTF? He's coaching National Champions, he knows more than you #troll
@10coolfacts9 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying he doesn't know more than me, but I can tell you two things for sure: I have a degree in communications, and this guy does not communicate very well in this video.
@choigunz9 жыл бұрын
Just because his communication doesn't translate directly to you doesn't mean he isn't communicating well. This is a pretty advanced lift (with accordance to the full clean-jerk movement) and he's talking with the assumption that people have some experience with basic human anatomy. I thought he explained very well breaking down every muscle with their specific functionality with this lift.
