Teams are the way that most companies get important work done. When you combine the energy, knowledge, and skills of a motivated group of people, then you and your team can accomplish anything you set your minds to.

I have a feeling that contract will drag the team members more, short and frequent meeting is ok, why not listen to each of them and their ideas, and give them a little space to work on their ideas? let them inspired by their own creativity.

in my experience great crew leaders worked hard at organizing and having a game plan, they then intermittently check in on your work and field any questions or concerns. great team leaders make you wanna work hard for them as they are working hard for you.

it need not be a so called "meeting".Just a tea time discusssion while chilling will let everyone share their ideas it's the comfort we give that creates the change
@georgeguest3975 жыл бұрын
I love the short frequent meeting idea...makes so much more sense...creates frequent exposure to management...the team has to frequently report...but at the same time they are not in a meeting so long that their attention begins to fade and therefore the meeting becomes a waste of time...great points
@gilesey35 жыл бұрын
We have daily meetings at 10am, where we standup, and focus on what the team needs to do to get the work done today and move us forward, the meeting lasts only 10-15 minutes maximum. We don't focus so much on what was done yesterday, as that encourages show-boating , it becomes obvious pretty quickly if someone is slacking!

Step one, create a legally binding contract with your employer that demands more from you than they feel you are currently given. Be held liable if metrics aren't met. Get fired for "performance" and not have to pay unemployment because you signed off on it. Sounds like some underhanded bullshit to me

I will just add a VERY IMPORTANT INGREDIENT to the contract that maybe it is implied but it needs to be included. WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME?. The contract needs to specify what benefits will the teammates get if they accomplish the desired results. This benefit has to be for the teammate and not just for the company. This is has to be a win win situation.

We're SUPPOSED to work this way in groups though! The brain and body is being efficient because it knows that the group as a whole has greater force and potential. It's also highly social: in a group setting, energy is better directed towards group cohesion and, frankly, having fun. This effect of individual energy going down per size of the group isn't a bad thing, it's working the precise CORRECT way! If you go in and try and push the individuals to their maximum WHILE still in a group, you will destroy comradery. You'll damage your team. Jeezus. Just hire more people. Problem solved. And this doesn't create any new problems along the way.

@thatmetaldude51905 жыл бұрын
If someone strays from the contract once, pull them aside and see what's up before reiterating what's expected of them. If they stray from it again, pull them into the office and write them up.
