I'm from Denmark and this is the way I leaned to purl. So when I'm watching tutorials, I sometimes have to try it a couple of times before it looks right. Thank you for showing.

THANK YOU!! I am a Norwegian style knitter and have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do the brioche Purl whilst keeping the working yarn in back.

Perfect explanation. I was insecure of brioche but you make it look and sound easy. Now I will go cast on!! Great video! Thank you.

I can not purl like a normal continental knitter. I’m so glad my first attempt at brioche will be easier because I only Norwegian purl 🙌🏻 Thank you for the great tutorial ❤️

i'm glad you found it helpful to watch, once this clicked for me -it clicked. i think Kristin of Voolenvine Yarns also has a video on continental brioche as well. definitely worth a watch!

The Norwegian purl was actually confusing (I'm an English knitter) but the "shawl" and your chunky/high contrast yarn helped SO much.

You make it so easy thank you for showing how to and explaining everything wher did you get your needles?

I got them at my LYS, they are the Karbonz interchangeable set - i think you can find them online - amazon etc! :) Thanks for watching!

I really like this method because I am a Continental knitter and want to learn it but I can’t get it because you do the Norwegian purl so fast I’m discouraged. On to the next video.
@LittlebeanandMe6 жыл бұрын
sorry about that! I hope that you find a tutorial that best suits your needs :) I do have a tutorial on this channel that is called "knitting technique for crocheters" and it goes through the Norwegian purl much slower. This video is more geared toward folks who already know the norwegian purl stitch.
@fefieh6 жыл бұрын
Duckster183 just forget about the Norwegian purl and do it with a regular continental perl . Same thing and it is actually less movements for your hands anyway.
@AnneGoggansQHHT4 жыл бұрын
So, you purl with the yarn in the back? Would it change anything to purl with yarn in front? It seems like you are pulling yarn up with needle anyways.
@LittlebeanandMe4 жыл бұрын
I do! It’s more comfortable for me and feels more natural in my hands. Definitely not a “one size fit all” process! I think that Voolenvine as well as Stephen west have also done tutorials showing continental and English styles as well. Might be worth a look if you’re still in need! Hope you’re well!

How did you start this off??
@LittlebeanandMe7 жыл бұрын
i just did a single color long tail cast on, then on the second row i did the first row of brioche with my color A. (so i started the brk, sl1yo pattern), then on the next pass i moved my stitches to the beginning of the row and used color B with the sl1yo, brp.
