I don't know about "soul mates". My Wife and I met 43 years ago on a dance floor after I asked her to dance with me, When I put my arm around her waist I just somehow knew she was the one for me. She later confessed to also experiencing that " just knowing" as she took my hand. 3 months before our meeting, her then boyfriend was killed in a motorbike crash, and our meeting was the first time she had been out socially since she lost him. Later that evening, something really unnerving happened, my future Wife was talking about her deceased boyfriend, telling me that he hated football, but loved fishing. I told her "Snap!" me too, She laughed and said "Yeah right, you're going to tell me your birthday is on 8th August next" This blew me away, and I stuttered to her "Actually, my birthday is on 8th August". The blood drained from her face, and she snapped back at me saying "Don't even go there! don't joke about it!" I assured her that I really, honestly, truly was not joking, and that my birthday is on that day, and then I told her my year of birth, and it was exactly the same as her deceased boyfriend. We just knew somehow knew that we were right for each other, and have been married now for 41 years.

I disagree to some extent, some matters on a continuum can complement one another when faced with the opposing end. A neurotic being meeting someone stable, an introvert meeting an extravert, both have potential to bring out aspects of personality that can be for sake of improving one's self and growth as a person. One of my teachers in life preached "Birds of a feather flock together and opposites attract." Neither is wholly right, neither is necessarily indicative of being good for both. But, them being your mirror and thus what you see as a means to gauge where you are versus how/where you think you are is absolutely brilliant. That's even more important than the similarities and differences. Someone who can call your nonsense, wake you up to it and then help you overcome them or give you the motivation to overcome them yourself - while doing the same for them - is truly wonderful. Assuming it's positive change, I mean.

@@SethMacMillan I disagree with you to some extent ;) it is important that all the essentials are present and for pure functionality it's good example of combination of temperamental and calm, but also some relations could be more functionable while having less in common than those who clash as hard characters more than they should considering how much they agree on things. so, my 'verdict' would be it's important that values and ideas coincide in the essence while other things should be connected just to make it all possible. I just think you are too materialistic and focused on pure functionality which I don't find most important. I don't need to 'function' just because I need to be connected. that's very low.

Any idea where you've heard this? I toyed with it before writing this reply, and I keep feeling like there's possibly a truth just out of reach. Can't pin it down. When I frame it tangibly it's always distasteful. (Is one of them temporary? LP *sounds* permanent-er; so, is your SM your first true love? Do they remain your SM even once you've moved on to your LP? Or, is your SM someone you're meant to "cheat" on your LP with, a la an artist driven and consumed by a muse?) Maybe it's just nonsense but it feels it's meta-true to something...?
@AzyrealLal5 жыл бұрын
@@JoshWalker1 Regretfully I don't. Try looking up soul mate vs life partner? What I recall and took away. You have a soul mate and you are both drawn to each other, come together reflect each other but for whatever reason the polarity is too strong and you fragment apart. It's said to a life changing event and I suppose like all traumatic events it can spawn positive adaptive, or negative maladaptive bringing a stage of evolution or devolution. An upheaval like a volcano burning away the old, paving a way for the new. For the life partner, it's a bit more deceptive. You don't feel that crazy. It's often calm. Natural. It said many miss their life partner altogether, because there isn't that wild eratic spark, the madness most associate with love. It is a rather sane love, but supposed to be long lasting.

yes yes yes! love is not supposed to be about finding fulfilment in one other person, your supposedly perfect match, it’s about finding a companion to walk with you as you both look for fulfilment together. it is not about being obsessed with each other, but with the way your worlds can grow when you join them. it is about building community, about letting your love be healthy, watering it, feeding it, so it can grow, so you can love other people in your family and your community more fully, so you can love and accept yourself and your place in the world of life.

The encounter with your soul mate and the great mutual love that arises, is one of the most beautiful and purest encounters you will ever experience. There is a special band that is unlike anything else we have experienced before. A kind of inexplicable force that draws two souls to each other. But it is also then that the strongest fears are aroused. We realize and understand at the same time that what we can get ... we can also lose. Often we are not aware of our own worth. We do not see how valuable and lovable we are. We then have a hard time understanding how someone else can see it. We do not feel worthy of this amazing person. This is exactly what soul mates are meant to help us with. To learn to love ourselves unconditionally, to then be able to receive that love from someone else.

I never believed in "the one" until I met my twin flame. I never would have believed in this if I didn't experience it for myself. I wasn't even spiritually awakened - I was agnostic. I was married, not even remotely looking also a bit asexual. And then I met him. When you meet this unique soul connection, the resonant frequency of your own soul, there's an instant recognition that can't be turned off, no matter how hard you try. The result is what's deemed "falling in love." It happens because these souls share a heart connection which is what love is. It's explosive and the power of raw love from the heart awakens you to the essence of divine source love. I never needed to feel this, until I felt it. It's like tasting fruit from the garden of Eden and then having to live the rest of your life feeling something so powerful and then unable to unfeel it. So don't go looking for "the one" - that's something the ego mind does. The heart, however, searches. I believe a twin flame is the closest thing to "the one" we can find, but, that doesn't mean that you need this person to be happy or can't be happy with someone else. But, the closeness of sharing the same soul frequency with another human being is what results in our soul's inner craving for "the one." I felt it and I felt him for my entire life, his essence, before meeting him.

I don't look for the perfect redeemer, but I also don't look for someone who is too much of a mirror, or necessarily similar to myself. For me, a soul mate is someone you are compatible with. One who shares your ideals and outlook - but also challenges you. You do not have to always agree and do all the same things. You grow, you understand that person and know their faults and strengths - you do not have to hide yours either. My experience is - 20 years on - you do not have to divide up a new project - each instantly knows which bits to take on - to play to strengths. A friend and trusted confident, which transcends sex and appearance.

The person who mirrors back to you the divine self love you hold for yourself, or that you should be holding or that you should be aspiring to hold- is your “soulmate”. All liars, fornicators, adulterers, idolaters, blasphemers, whoremongers, thieves, murderers, homosexuals, effeminate, etc, will not inherit the kingdom of God. Once you turn to the Lord, read the new testament in the bible, the gospels, to develop a relationship with God. God bless you all. Turn to Jesus, repent or perish, turn or burn.

Find someone you can stand. And who can stand you. Be humble and grateful they're willing to go through the ups and downs of a long-term relationship. When we married 23-yrs ago I was able-bodied and now I'm paralysed since 2011 following a spinal chord injury which occurred after i suddenly fainted. My husband is still with me. Although most relationships in similar circs fail. But he says he still loves me even though our lives as a couple have changed inalterably. I also had breast cancer in 2008. My husband is heroic. And i love him more than ever for he has shown me what true love is. It's selfless. An act of selflessness -v- selfishness. That's the very definition of love. A selfless act - the essence of humility, grace and class.

What you are talking about is people looking for a soul mate in order to fill the hole in their heart. They depend on finding love in order to find happiness. But what if you find happiness and yourself first, THEN find your soul mate? I believe most marriages end in divorce because people are afraid of being alone, and therefor settle for someone they are not truly in love with. Eventually it falls apart because they are still left wanting more. Find your own happiness, your own hearts content, your own journey first. And then wait until you find someone who compliments these things and ignites your soul, versus settling down with someone because society says you should. Thats a true soul mate connection.

Before looking for a “soulmate “ you must have self love, you must be able to stand emotionally, mentally, financially by yourself. You can not expect your partner to do that for you, they can add to it, but you must have self love before looking for it in someone else. The same goes for them, you don’t want to become someone’s fixer, two people work together to become one. As you get older people change and sometimes love isn’t always enough. You can love someone but not be in love with them people grow apart.. than you realize you have neglected yourself by not taking care of self, because you lose who you are your so busy being something for someone else. Always remember to love self first because you’re not good for anybody if you don’t.

I never thought of a soul mate as a god or redeemer or anything like that. Just someone who resonates in like with the mate. I don't know where you ever got that idea lol. You want to be with a good person, someone who shares the same ideals as you, someone you can really trust, etc., someone from the same "base" of experience and understanding. A vibrational match. The same level of maturity and awareness. The same base from which intentions spring. That's what soul mate means to me. Otherwise, how can you be in good relationship if you are not in good relationship? To me it boils down to that simple understanding. Not so simple to find, which is why so often it is best to be solo because you have you in that relationship and no one to fricken screw that up for you because you didn't find someone of that resonance.

It is beyond belief. I have met several Soulmates both male and female and canine forms. They are shamanic in nature and hold keys to Soul retrieval because they reflect aspects of one's Soul in need of healing. Only more recently have I had the good fortune of meeting and marrying my Twin Flame, the Ultimate Soulmate.The Twin Flame is the perfect mirror image of one's Soul and often an important catalyst for one's Ascension. As such Twin Flames usually meet in their final life. It is often in your Twin Flame that you first recognize God in "other". From the Twin Flame this Awareness expands to humanity on an Universal level. Soulmates connect us to an aspect of our Soul. Twin Flames give us a holographic mirror reflection of Who We Are as Divine Beings. This is a mystical Awareness and Understanding that facilitates our Ascension and return to Source as Spirit beyond identification with body, mind, thoughts, concepts, or illusions based in time or space within the temporal dream of separation from Source. Ultimately there is only One Self, but within the dream of individuality, these dream symbols may appear to us in order to help us to remember Who We Are as Pure Awareness or the Awakened Mind (the Buddha or Buddha Nature).

This has taken me time to recognise and accept(he already knew all this). But I approve of what you are saying also....The journey is within ourselves.... so you find love and then you have kids...THERE is the love! Nothing prepared me for that amount of love. But things still arent perfect because they never will be. There are probably more things about myself that I would like to change in my 40s than in my 20s. My advice is stay away from the psychos, sow your wild oats and when you find someone lovely, do all you can to hang on.

But I knew (we knew) straight away on some other level that I can't explain that we were what people call soulmates. It's almost on a subliminal unconscious level. I am a better person with him. Suddenly I understood what love is. Even the sex was amazing and on a kind of spiritual connection. I don't know if this deep connection has to do with pheromones, genetics or what, but it's real. Still feel the same way over ten years later. I'm 41 now and glad we met in our thirties, with the maturity and confidence in to accept things.
