Great video. I’d like to point out that in competitive Rec/Open play my observation or experience is opponents usually don’t understand the 3rd drop or the importance of it. They don’t understand the 3rd drop is a tactic to support the strategy of not getting lost in the transition zone or baseline. Even when opponents succeed in executing the 3rd drop they don’t understand the follow through. The follow through is moving forward to the NVZ. You simply can’t win points or games if you and your partner can’t get to the NVZ.

What I see a lot in rec play are pop ups for the drop and dinks. How to avoid this???

I understand the reason for doing a 3rd shot drop and, in theory, the technique, but during actual games, I panic because my opponents are at the nvz line like pit bulls.
