This video is a bit frustrating to me. It's as if you are talking in circles. But what do I know? So how are we supposed to fight the sins of the flesh? The sins that so easily entangle us? We all know what it feels like to have that one sin that just does not let us go. What does the verse mean to crucify the flesh, the old man? Perhaps I should take more time before I ask these questions. It's good I am starting to take the time to ask them to myself. I know your answer will be we have to rely on the spirit. But is God really going to hold those accountable who try their best to reach out to him through their own limited understanding of things if it does not conform to this verse?

But how can we know whether or not something, or anything that we do for that matter, is being done with dependence on the Holy Spirit?
@humblelowlyservantofthemos10955 жыл бұрын
One way is to stop and examine whatever it is you were doing and see if it was good, biblical, and according to the fruits of the Spirit. If you examine yourself and search your heart and find that you did it with a pure conscience, then it most likely was the Holy Spirit that did it with you and through you. If it wasn't done with a pure heart, it was probably done in the flesh. Anything good that comes from us is ultimately credited to the Holy Spirit. Anything bad that comes from us ultimately comes from our flesh and the workings of satan.

I think that’s an oversimplification and that often times believers, including myself do good things that we know are good even if we don’t feel like we’re in the best mindset/mood because it’s a good thing, but if “anything good that comes from us is credited to the Holy Spirit”, then you’re measuring dependence on the Holy Spirit by mere outward actions when it’s probably more so some kind of internal spiritual act separate from the actual physical action itself, and I don’t think motives are connected to “dependence” but idk this concept is so vague...

@@kablah19, everything done in the physical first starts in the mind and in the heart. The only way to do anything truly good is through the power of the Holy Spirit. If I decided to pray even though I didn't feel like it, that wasn't me doing it, it was the Holy Spirit working in me and through me, against my flesh, to help me pray. Checking your motives helps you to see if your actions are being done in the Spirit or in the flesh. My comments were not meant to be full explanation, but to offer you some perspective. I would be glad to continue though, and try to help anyway I can.

Idk, I can understand when the Holy Spirit helps you do something good without you knowing He’s helping you, but I don’t understand how one can actively seek dependence on the Holy Spirit when it’s obvious that what one is doing is of the flesh.. do you have any insight on that?
@humblelowlyservantofthemos10955 жыл бұрын
@@kablah19, If you're walking in the flesh, you're not going to seek God. Period. But if you do seek God, it's because the Holy Spirit who lives in you and who is with you, worked and willed in you to help you and cause you to seek God. Remember, without God's Holy Spirit we human beings are spiritually dead, and we only think and desire evil thoughts. That's why God gave us His Spirit to give us spiritual new birth and regeneration. A new nature empowered and energized by the Holy Spirit to desire God, love God, obey God, and to do good. It's only through the Spirit that we can do these things. Yes, sometimes the Spirit works in us even when we're not aware of it.

So working out and dieting is work of the flesh then…. So what if you pray before your workout giving thanks to God for our health and asking for blessing over the workout?
@a.kamileon2 жыл бұрын
how is working out and dieting a work of the flesh? there are many Christian bodybuilders including myself - and we are not sinning if we are doing it for God’s glory.

Dude calm down this is legalistic bullshit... "Physical training is of some value" show me one bible verse which prohibits sports and physical activities, you won't find any but i can show many verses in which the bible directly supports sports and physical activities... If something is wrong the bible directly mentions that it's wrong upstraight... It doesn't play hints coz that would be unfair to people who are mentally retarded or less intelligent... If the bible doesn't directly says "thou shalt not" or labels that activity as work of the flesh, there is nothing bad about it.. calm down and enjoy your sports and activities
