HOW TO: LML Duramax Upper AND Lower Ball Joints Install

Today we are installing Upper and Lower Kryptonite Ball Joints on my 2016 GMC Sierra Duramax LML, I tried to explain everything the best way I could so if you have any questions let me know!
Kryptonite has actually UPDATED the upper ball joints since I recorded this video! I will have them in the review video showing the differences between them!

ball joints held up well! i sold the truck a few months back and they were still holding strong then. felt as though they were slightly tighter then the stock ones

which press kit did you use?! I've rented two sets and neither work foe the size of the kyrptonite ball joints..

Just the auto parts store ones, it sucked. Had to pound them out with a sledge

Hey Chad, Im sorry I didnt see this comment until now, I never had any issues with them after over a year of them being on the truck. I checked shortly before I sold it and the boots looked just fine no tears or anything. The new owner said he hasn't noticed anything either!

I know this posts a year old but, did you have to get an alignment after? I’ve heard you should anyway, but also heard it won’t change anything

Daniel Dyles I didn’t get an alignment after since it doesn’t really change anything that has to do with steering but it wouldn’t hurt to get it checked after. Especially if your ball joints were really bad

If anyone is just now watching this (please use a brass hammer to hit on the axle shaft!!!) A iron hammer will deform the end of the shaft, the brass one wont. Save yourself time and money and use brass.

Jesse Lilley you’re going to have to hit it VERY hard to deform it with an iron hammer.. and if the axle it stuck in there that bad you probably shouldn’t be using a hammer alone. The axle just slips in it doesn’t need a lot to pop it out, iron hammer works just as well as a brass one and it’s not going to deform it unless you’re using too much force.

@@ColinMcEvoy I know that. But how many people out there do you think know when to hard is to hard lol. I was just always taught not to hit ends of shafts with iron hammers, as an over head crane tech I get to deal with beat on shafts from time to time.

Im usually not in comments but, What @diver7150 meant was The full break down and Show on how You got them Pressed Out. So if it helps anyone, Heated them just As He did and I Used a Press to Take the ball joints out My Ball Joint presses Weren’t Cutting it! It’s a Bit Sketchy. Just thought I’d Help the next person.
