After watching a recent video, with you jumping from foot to foot before releasing the club is still the most brilliant of all your vids! Amateurs typically rush down to the ball regardless of where their weight is stationed.

Interesting thing for me recently is after I learned how to move momentum better I’m able to actually hit my longer irons much better than mid irons and the distance gap becomes greater the longer the iron is. Weird yet amazing feeling. Still work in progress. Thanks for sharing and please keep sharing before and after videos with students.

Great video and explanation....greatest tip I was ever given was that the weight/loading mirrors the direction of the clubbed. Looking face on...the clubead and load only move away from the target until the club head is about waist height in the backswing....from then it starts to move towards the target ...even in the backswing. Working/focusing on that one principle alone I went from 4 to +2 in a year.

@@GRFGolf Played well with your swing this past Saturday. Driver was the hardest part, but irons and fairway woods were solid. Increased distance and accuracy. If I may, a question. Any thoughts on lifting the left heel or straightening back leg one way or another? Trying not to outthink things, but I was wondering about these two things. Thank you!

@@brotherderek That's awesome, well played. No problem lifting heel as long as it doesn't move you off balance 👍

This has to be the only downswing move i have never tried, thanks for the great explanation Marcus, and it works brilliantly, lot more club head speed and ball then turf contact,and puts the sweet spot onto the ball, i just need to remember to do the squat first then i dont miss the ball🤦😂, i have always tried to move the pressure form the inside front part of the right foot into the left heel on the downswing so i missed half of the move out completely🤦🤦🤦. I can also feel the right hip coming through much quicker without it being a deliberate move. 👍👍👍

I’ve been working on this recently..and was struggling with balance.. when getting down into the left side felt I was going to fall to the left.. just widened my stance abit.. also would it be correct by saying when done properly the club feels like it’s still going back as I’m loading and re’centreing.. ??? Love the work guys 👍

Hi there. Isn't the release comes from the wrist? Why only on footwork /body in downswing to followthrough only? what about the arms and hands?Kindly advise please
@malone772 жыл бұрын
Marcus, really interesting video. I've been working on my vertical force however been jumping up instead of back and away and would be interested to hear your take on why jumping just up wouldn't be as effective. I can't seem to release our to the right for the draw and this video seems like a bit of a light bulb moment for me .
@ironsideeve29552 жыл бұрын
Martin Borgmeier had a good video on this. AFAIK, the point of the push off the ground is to add to your rotation rate. Pushing straight up really only seems to help with the wrist angle rate on release. Needs to be up, back and away. Kyle Berkshire is a nice example of this as he finishes back and off to the side. Hope this actually helps as opposed to coming across as a know-it-all?

Great video, thanks. But what about fairwaywoods where you hit less down on the ball and generally want less shaft lean?
@GRFGolf2 жыл бұрын
Can still have some shaft lean with shallow angle of attack. Did a video on the channel with Foz on driver trajectory control. That would be relevant.
@mplunky12 жыл бұрын
Marcus does this falling squat motion invole simultaneously a pressure move from back foot to the front foot prior to the push up ie. does your foot pressure screen show in this transition a gradual increasing pressure move from one to the other before the push up & away. Am I right in saying that the pressure applied to the front foot happens just prior the falling squat so step then squat then push up from the ground. To coordinate 1st a back foot pressure & body turn then a change in direction falling squat then the front foot push up requires great timing of sequence. Is there an easy method or drill to exercise this whole motion in a motion & not just static positions.
@GRFGolf2 жыл бұрын
There's no static positions. We're just experiencing how the body can move to utilise the forces. Yes the pressure generally shifts back to the front foot earlier than the pelvic drop. There's lots of exercises on the channel for this, with tennis balls for example 👍

As complicated or as simple as you want to make it tbh. It's down to how you interpret and filter information. Maybe that's something to look at if you're overthinking your own swing.

Basically just copy idea from Dr. Kwon. For the last few months seeing a lot you tubers just borrow or copy the idea without acknowledgement or credit Dr. Kwon.
@GRFGolf2 жыл бұрын
Just FYI, I've been a coach doing this for over 12 years and on my channel for the past 2-3 years, before DR Kwon coached on KZbin but I do credit him on several podcasts I've done with his brilliant scientific study in golf, way before it became mainstream and he developed a coaching application. I studied his swing research in the late 2000's (in Korean) as part of my MSc in biomechanics but there was no application, just research papers. Personally I've conducted university research studies on 3D kinematics of golf swing, gait analysis and ground reaction forces for over 15 years and consult on forceplate/3d projects with the University. This isn't a copy of another person's work. There will always be a crossover somewhere. You'll see differences in what I do as it's influenced more with gait cycle mechanics than 'out and out' golf swing mechanics. I do appreciate there may be some similarities along the way and will always credit people. Here's a credit on this podcast just for reference. open.spotify.com/episode/6pP81JMvmCSeRC7Jh4AZ5A?si=mjgzkvXiTM2NvFS1i-Id8Q& Thanks 👍
