Instantly Increase Pitching Velocity with The Velocity Extractor! Click Here for your Free Video: baseballtraini...
In this video we talk about how to load to unload the energy in your pitching delivery for maximum power and pitching velocity. The more and more I study pitching, pitching mechanics, and the pitching delivery, I notice that it has a lot to do with the loading and unloading of energy. When we pitch, we want to transfer our energy through our kinetic chain and we do that by loading energy, creating energy, and then unloading it through proper sequencing and timing. If we can do that efficiently and consistently then we will be able to increase pitching velocity in our delivery. So check out this video and learn some of the load to unload ideas I talk about.

Leave a comment down below if you can think of any more spots where we load to unload in the pitching delivery or if you have any questions. Thanks!

This is great knowledge. My son is 9 years old and playing more at pitcher and has a recorded pitch of 50 mph. But it was pure arn and we are NOW LEARNING how to put more body and ' load ' more into his pitching. I'm now teaching him about striding more and this video will do more for his pitching so I think you for this and all of your videos

I'm an old guy at 46. Started pitching three years ago. Went from a 17.00 ERA first year, to a 7.60 the second year, to a 2.10 this year. The information in your videos have made a great difference. If you ever did videos on older pitchers my eyes would pop out of my head :)

Great video. You teach great mechanics. I love that you dispel the balance point myth. I've been coaching for 25 seasons and opposing coaches have asked me how I consistently have dominant pitches year to year. The secret is teaching good fundamental mechanics like what you talk about here. Only the second baseball channel that I've subscribed to because your video reminded me of some things that I had forgotten.

Hey John, I somehow missed this video until now, but it's a great one. The loading and unloading of the hips that is something that isn't talked about enough. But this makes so much sense. My one question is, at what point do you really start to drive toward the mound with the back leg? I'd appreciate your thoughts on that. Just a quick update, I'm the head coach of my son's 12u fall ball rec team, and we've got a bunch of kids who can pitch pretty well. I just want to educate myself so I can pass along the knowledge to them. Hope you and yours have been doing well!

I recently subscribed to your channel so I am playing catch-up on your content. I also watched your May 13 2020 podcast with Jon Sintes (this morning) and the discussion about the pitchLogic ball. 10 yr old pitching help. My boy had a good leg lift with his pitching. Last season and this season the new head coach does not like him lifting his leg. They have him doing a sweep I am NOT a fan of. I feel like he's going backwards now. With a sweep there is no falling into the pitch and it sounds like he's using to much arm. Any thoughts?
@pigbenis6341
@pigbenis6341 5 жыл бұрын
I'm 14 and I did that some when I was 10. Then I started to do a higher leg lift when I turned 11 and it helped alot. He will also have more of a chance of a slap tear to. So i would suggest trying to get him back into his leg lift. High or low see what's most comfortable to him and maybe try sto get him some lessons to where they teach him some mechanics to where he doesn't use all arm cause trust me I used to use all arm and threw 75 to 78 in majors. Trust me it will help cause I'm throwing 73 to 75 from 60ft now with just mechanics and basically no arm really. In majors it was 50ft bit had I had the right mechanics I would've been throwing 80 is what my coaches said. Lessons will help tho. And if he doesn't like some of the things find what's comfortable to him. Ps this is from my personal experience so it could be different or it could help 👍

Got a question that I could never find an answer for. The arm Mechanics. I was taught to hold the ball like an egg. As the trunks rotating, I tend to start gripping the ball tighter and try rushing my arm through almost like I’m trying to pull down on it. I feel that makes my arm methodical or robotic and takes that kinetic energy out. Should the arm be rag loose? Currently sitting at around 80-83.

yea, on fastball. i can't actually understand how to give a better spin. spin, on the contrary of speed, is difficult to mesure, so i cannot get when it's spinning harder and when it isn't
@YouGoPro

Gotcha. I never really concentrated on spin. The way it felt out of my hand + the movement on the pitch + the number on the gun = weather or not I had good spin, but spin in and of it self wasn’t something I focused on a whole lot. Tbh

So the fingers cut to the inside of the ball? Wouldn't that put unwanted spin on the ball?

The fingers don't cut to the inside usually until after the release, unless your throwing a sinker.

Loading the hips and shoulders seems like a much safer way to throw fast rather than pulling your arm through faster. And the arm muscles are so small compared to hips/core/shoulder, there has to be more power there., Watching 11 year olds play I have noticed that the ones who throw fastest turn their back a little to the catcher. Also sounds alot like the golf swing, winding up the hips and shoulders to get power.

Hey coach I have a important question: When you’re on the mound, you have the back part of your foot off the rubber and the front part on. I was watching a Paul reddick velocity increase video, and he said you should have the back part of your foot on, and the front part off Which is better and increases velocity
@pigbenis6341
@pigbenis6341 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not a coach but I'm a pitcher I'm 14. It depends on whatevers more comfortable to you, say if you throw inside alot and the front of your foot is off the rubber try putting it up against the rubber and it might help with throwing over the plate more. Same thing if your pitching outside and the back of your foot is off move it around to a position that will suit you and your mechanics. Let me know if this helped you or not
