September 13th will be my one year anniversary of Emmie's SOS plan. I am living proof that Emmie's plan works! I lost about 15 pounds on SOS and have been able to maintain this lifestyle very easily for the past year. It isn't a diet but a lifestyle. I still listen to my hunger cues, ask myself if I would eat veggies and I keep it simple. My go-to meals for Meal #1, veggies, oatmeal, blueberries, cinnamon, flaxseed, 1/2 banana; Meal #2 is usually a large salad with white beans, mustard, vinegar, Nooch, cumin dressing, potatoes and an apple...I KISS for most of my meals even a year later. For the most part, I eat just 2 meals a day....however, on days that I feel hungry, I will have some carrots and a couple of potatoes or some rice, beans, and veggies. I will be 67 years old in a couple of weeks, weigh less than what I weighed in high school and feel like I am "living the dream!" It is my dream to get certified in plant-based nutrition and encourage others of my age group to live a healthier lifestyle....Oh, my hubby "jumped on board" a few months ago....he lost 45 pounds, lowered his blood sugar, blood pressure and has cut back on his medication...he is the lean, mean machine I married 33 blissful years ago....Thank you, Healthie Emmie....you are awesome! Sparkles, joy and blessings! ✨🎉🙏💕

@@debbiebaker68 I know how you feel! I love this lifestyle and have been eating SOS for 1 1/2 years now. My hubby didn't come "on board" until he started having some health issues. That is when he asked me for help. He still is following SOS for the most part but is a little more relaxed than I am with his meals. Recently, he landed in the hospital with a staph infection. I was so grateful that he had been following SOS as I feel that his body was stronger to fight the infection. He is still not "out of the woods" as the infection is in his spine. Fortunately, he is home and eating healthier now than in the hospital. Good luck with your journey. Maybe one of these days, your hubby will "see the light!" Sparkles, joy, and blessings! ✨🎉🙏💕

Thank you for these videos. I hear a lot of people talking about overeating, but I am having the opposite problem. I had trained myself a few years ago not to snack between meals. Since I started the starch solution, I have been eating 2-3 meals per day, but I am still hungry a lot. I have trouble eating more even though I am hungry. I get really hungry at night and wind up going to bed hungry. I came from a diet with a lot of meat and oils and now I can see that I got my calories from these things. I don’t want to eat so much. I literally get tired of eating.

Hi Emmie! Thanks for this video - I’ve been following you for a couple of months now and have mostly adopted the vegan lifestyle. Your today’s message was timely as I have gained weight on this plan. What I have lost is pain throughout my body! I have leukaemia and the cancer and meds cause considerable inflammation and inflammation becomes pain. I didn’t immediately notice that I was pain free until I hopped onto a bench and hopped back down. I’m almost 60 - I don’t hop anymore! I’m still struggling with craving sugar so I’ll add the greens to my first meal - how do I add that to oatmeal?!?!? Thanks Emmie - I love your energy and information! Anna

So in the starch solution book Dr McDougall actually says never to have less than half your plate be starch and that starch in your diet is crucial. Youay find without enough starch you don't get satiated and end up eating more or maybe even binge. For maximum weight loss he recommends half your plate be starch and the other half non starchy vegetables.

I love your channel. I came across it recently and have been bingeing on your videos. I really like your advice about having the same thing every morning. For me, that's half a cup of oats, 1 cup of soy milk, and 2 large bananas or 3 medium to small ones. The challenge for me is that I also eat twice a day for intermittent fasting. I would like to add something that is non-vegetable to that to make that meal more substantial and filling. Can you recommend something?
@shiningjewel40342 жыл бұрын
I would suggest more fruit if you don't want to add veggies. Fruit is typically less calorie dense than oats.
@nca47942 жыл бұрын
You said no veggies, but I've come across recommendations of adding cauliflower rice to the oatmeal. Apparently it takes on the flavor of the oatmeal well. I've seen a 1:1 ratio, but you can try a smaller amount and see how you like it. 😊

Hi Emmie! So I have a question, but it's not related to weight loss necessarily. Hi have knee surgery coming up in three weeks time and I just want to know if there is anything you would do differently or specifically nutritionally speaking of course to 'prep' for it. Like add certain foods, or eliminate certain foods or anything like that. Thanks!

What frustrates me is that every diet video I’ve seen focuses on how to lose weight. How about people like me who are chronically underweight ( 60 years old, 6’ and 137lbs- the same as when I graduated college). I would need a massive intake to have the kind of caloric surplus necessary for me to gain. How do I do that healthily? Maybe eat tons of barley every day like the Roman gladiators?
