All I know - is that at the end of December, I was 246lbs......I went carnivore...then animal based...(100% still)......never put a single grain IN my mouth ...never put any type of sugar (other than very small amounts of fruit or honey---tiiiiiny amount)...and dropped ALL oils....no booze.....just meat, eggs and small amount of dairy. I am now......174lbs. That is a loss of over 70lbs. I am not beating my chest or bragging.....I am stating this BECAUSE...I can't exercise..I broke my back in the 90's, I have fused vertebrae therefore lifting weights, or crunches or any of that stuff is nadda chance. So, here's my deal on HOW I got here: I ate twice a day. First around 10am, (its usually leftover meat from the night before - or hard boiled eggs)....then i ate dinner around 6pm. Again meat or eggs. That's it. Tons of grass fed butter and Redmond's salt. I did the heart stress test a month ago (cuz my dr was freaking out over an animal based diet)...my BP was 116/71...and my max heart rate was achieved on their treadmill, meaning, I ran on an incline for over 10min. (they didn't know about my back injury - but I wasn't going to let my doctor win by saying 'i told ya so'). My arteries to my heart were a perfect score!!!. Backtrack to back in December, my BP was 146/120's......I was called PRE diabetic (if there's even SUCH a thing)...my libido was trash, I was taking back meds, arthritis meds, anxiety meds...you name it. I found myself hiding from everyone - even my kids. I didn't care about myself or my own life - I was drinking a case of beer a week and was losing myself to depression. (not saying that I am OUT of the woods...but drastically better) Today, I am in financial distress from being self employed and our shitty Prime Minister fucking up Canada - I recently have had to eat once a day (so my wife and kids can eat 3 meals a day)...but I am not stressing over it too much. I feel carnivore/animal based has done incredible things for my mental health...and the weight loss was just a huge bonus. This was long winded, sorry about that. I only wrote this out to let others know - to get weight loss, exercise isn't mandatory. I think staying active and moving all day is important - I try to get 6000 to 8000 steps a day. I don't count macros or calories either - I eat good human food and eat till full. I don't snack nor have the desire. Good luck to all who are on their own journey - you got this! Consistency is the key and plateaus will break. Believe in it.

Very inspiring! Thanks man!!! I was 239 four weeks ago. I'm 221 and feeling better. My ideal weight is 165~170.. I have very high liver enzymes (fatty food and alcohol). I dropped the alcohol (bourbon and beer) 4 weeks ago today and eating carnivore about 80% with veggies. I will likely go all carnivore for a while because I mentally feel better than when I eat vegetables. I did have some constipation issues right at first,, but that has subsided. This is a food plan I can maintain. When I get the weight down, I'm adding fruit. My two favorite foods are meat and fruit. Great job and hang in there taking care of your family. Wishing you success in your business! Good luck and thanks again!!!

@@ericy1005 Thanks brother - Its a grind for me right now. Hopefully things turn around - would be a waste of 30 years in biz. Your stats are similar to mine (I am 5'9ish)...had very high iron in my blood as well (PRE carnivore)...those numbers albeit high still, have dropped surprisingly. I had constipation here and there early on - I added a bunch of butter to EVERYTHING, and in less than 2 days - WHOOP THERE IT IS! lol...I can regulate now with butter salt combo. I even drink ice water with a pinch of salt in it. Congrats on YOUR weight loss! ..and Congrats on the sobriety! Your liver should heal itself once ALL bad carbs and crap is filtered out. Great job recognizing things and focusing on yourself and planning the correct path! Keep us in the loop!!! :)

@@jonw9119 Oh how i hear ya! You can do it brother! I swapped booze for ice water and forced myself to reconsider the 'value' of booze. I am no sobriety preacher - just a dude who loved beers and BBQ's. It was hard, but reality set it and I decided it's not just ME that I am living for. What does booze really do? ...other than an hour of blurry sights and feels? Nothing. It ruins your kidneys and liver, makes a person get fat and unattractive and causes diabetes and depression etc...so the value really isn't there. I loved having a buzz, but I didn't love feeling like ass later on - so..... So, now, I walk every night with my wife and sip on ice water and we chat as we walk. (about 4km)...trust me, it's not always pleasant or enjoyable...but....we do it. We end up feeling better AND we are moving and getting about 4000 extra steps in daily - first step was about ditching the fast food and the grain carbs (breads/pastas)...fill yourself with fatty delicious meats. The cravings just dissolve. The more animal fats, the easier it is. IMO. You can do this - millions of people are going through this daily and the winners will be people like YOU! Fight for your health - You got this!

Hey Paul, I love the Content. I’ve learned a lot through your videos. In 2007, I lost 66lbs following a fad diet and regained all the weight. I am now down 88lbs and maintaining it. My biggest piece of advice is focusing on your lifestyle. Don’t do something you can’t see yourself doing for the rest of your life because often, the same way you lose weight is the same way you’ll maintain it. If you give up meat to lose weight and go back to eating meat without making any other adjustment, you’ll probably regain it. As someone who gained weight in the past, I’d also like to point out our habits that contribute to weight gain such as boredom eating, stress eating and emotional eating. To me, that’s more important than the food. It doesn’t matter how healthy you eat if you’re stuffing yourself in an attempt to escape negative emotions or fill an emotional void. Some people use drugs or alcohol, some people use food.

I started Carnivore Diet 5 weeks ago. I'm down 8 kg, eating good, working out everyday and feeling fantastic. I am someone who has suffered from chronic allergies (food and environmental) since childhood. In the past 5 weeks, suddenly I no longer need allergy medicine. I can breathe clearly through my nose. Also, over the summer, I started playing ultimate frisbee and started to have acne breakouts on my chest and back. Well, 3 weeks into Carnivore Diet and inflammation was way down in my body. My skin looks clearer than ever, and (as disgusting as this sounds) the blackheads on the tip of my nose are nearly gone. The only change in my life in the past 5 weeks has been my diet. The exercise continues yet I feel better than ever. I hope everyone reading this sticks with it for at least 5 weeks as I have to truly experience the improvements. The best feature of this way of eating is the lack of hunger. Eating a mainstream LOW FAT diet results in uncontrollable hunger. Been there. Done that. It took me about five days to become totally fat adapted by eliminating all carbs and greatly increasing dietary fat. Since then, it has been easy to lost 50 pounds of fat. I have another 50 pounds to go, but I'm confident that I will succeed in reaching a healthy body fat percentage. Eating a conventional modern diet and using food to suppress negative emotions made me obese. An ad libitum diet of meat, herbs, and berries keeps my weight steady, but I have learned that I must consciously limit my total daily calories to actually burn off body fat. I also believe that exercise (Both zone 2 and resistance) are even more important than diet. I've got a ways to go, but better late than never.

Never in my life I thought it was possible to lose weight eating my “maintenance”. I have dealt with eating disorders my whole life and my tool was always restriction. A year ago I had my second baby and decided to follow a plan with a dietitian, lost a good amount of weight but plateaued 8lbs higher than my “usual” weight. I was eating a lot of grains and seed oils, that’s what they tell you to include. After a while I noticed I was intuitively adding more protein to my meals to keep me fuller because I was already down to 1400kcal a day and was still stuck at that weight and starting to feel very very deprived and hungry. I decided to give the animal based a shot, but just eat in a lot of food, I followed the chart people usually follow on this diet. I have been eating a little over 2000 kcal and won’t stop losing weight. It’s mind blowing. You might think “oh it’s not thaaaat much calories”. Paul eats 3000 kcal for reference, I’m really eating well for a female. Not to mention my tooth inflammation (I was about to get a root canal treatment) simply vanished. My knee pain vanished. The only thing still present is my eczema but I started the diet only a month ago so I know it’s going to get better with time.

If you're not doing your 2MAD 18/6 by skipping dinner, try it. It's a game changer. Based on our Circadian Rhythm, the best time to eat is from 7 to 9 am (the Stomach Meridian) "Break"fast. Your digestive is the strongest at this time. Your last meal should be between Noon and 2pm (the Small Intestine Meridian). Fast from 2pm to 7am. Repeat. Studies have proven the Circadian Rhythm to be factual. "Those that ate a large breakfast but very small dinner lost more than twice as much weight as participants that ate the exact same portion and calories of food but reversed the eating to a small breakfast and large dinner"...remember, our digestive system weakens as the day progresses making it much harder to digest and assimilate food later in the day.

@@faustopereira3644 oh yes, I live by it. My sleep was awful for over 3 years doing Keto and Carnivore...morning blood glucose readings were always in the "pre diabetic range" and within 3 days of switching to eating in the Circadian Rhythm ranges, My sleep improved dramatically as well as my morning fasting glucose numbers (dropped well into the normal range). My daily diet consists of: Breakfast: high fat/protein meal with 1 or 2 pieces of fruit (size of an apple or two). A small amount of goat milk kefir. This is my largest meal...I eat until satisfied. Lunch (my last meal) is usually around 1:30. It consists of: 1 1/2 pounds of either 85/15 or 80/20 ground beef and one piece of fruit. I seem to sleep better on the 80/20 than the leaner 85/15. Here's the cool part, this is the easiest by far. By eating with the Circadian Rhythm you aren't going against your metabolism, your eating with it (the digestive system weakens as the day progresses) which means by evening, you're not even hungry for food and when you wakeup, you're ready to throw down. Perfect.

Got to give a thumbs up for saying it's very difficult to know what your actual calories burned are. It seems so many people have no idea about that but it can really be drastically different from person to person and studies even show that. You really can't even guess at all just by looking at someone. Some people are fat and burn very little calories for their size and don't actually eat enough to justify their weight, others are fat just because they eat a huge amount.

I stalled on total carnivore. I had been losing on keto but I still had pain and inflammation. On carnivore the pain and inflammation disappeared at first, then returned along with a weight stall. I'm going to add in fruits for a carb source, and dairy like kefir and greek yogurt ( neither will be over eaten, I'll moderate) and hopefully get back to feeling good. I kept my carbs under 20 with keto, and I think the drop to zero isn't ideal for me. Thanks for the info.

So Paul in short you are saying that there is a healthy and unhealthy way of losing weight. That actually makes a lot of sense. Eating only meat, fruit, honey, and raw dairy if you can handle it makes a lot of sense. Fruit is a natural digestive and honey is natural when it comes to losing weight, so I'm definitely heading in that direction. Not only for losing weight but for my overall health and for longevity. I appreciate the love and the videos you make Paul. Do keep them coming and do keep being your authentic self. Thanks again for the weight loss framework. Blessings to you.

Just a slight mistake at 18:07, you mentioned the triangle green was meat when it is in fact grains. The diamond green is the meat one, and the root vegetables is at the bottom with all the other light lines bunched together. That said your reasoning is still sound; the calorie ratio from meat and animal fats compared to everything else has gone down drastically in the last few years (Since vegetable oils, sugar and nuts have increased drastically).

Paul, as a home health nurse I had a patient whose doctor recommended ALA ( alpha lipoic acid) caps. I can't recall exactly why but it may have been for neuropathy. He was hypothyroid on thyroxine/synthroid, not overweight but with sarcopenia. The ALA almost killed him with hypothyroid so severe he sat with a blank stare in a lounge chair all day. The doctor brushed off my suggestion that he try armour thyroid or at least increase his synthroid temporarily. The doctors orders were to stop the ALA, keep him on the same synthroid dose and " let the ALA wear off". His poor wife was hysterical, understandably. I was told to discharge him with instructions to repeat his TSH in 3 weeks.

I have been strict with my food following Pauls advice for over a month now. My hunger is usually there at meal times but never to emergency like levels. I decided to try something, and I wont name the restaurant; but I decided to eat at a very popular chicken establishment. Aftet eating 1000 total calories, I felt more hungry, and empty than before I ate. I felt like I was starving; like i hadn’t eaten for days. That was all i needed to stay away from fast food, and seed oils forever.

In October, I weighed 206lb. Today, I'm 168. My entire journey felt like a feast, and all I did was eat twice a day. Meat (goat, lamb, beef), raw dairy, raw honey, fruit, potatoes, rice, and the occasional seafood. That's truly it, nothing fancy. I didn't lose muscle, I was very active daily (10-15k steps) and lifted heavy wright's 2x a week. Now that I'm leaner and have much more energy (metabolism roaring) I get about 15k steps everyday sometimes 20k, lift 2x a week, swim 🏊‍♂️ and spend lots of time in the sun. If I don't do this I can't really sleep well at night, it's as if my body now requires me to be active. I suppose it's important to say I never counted a calorie and I hydrated well with spring minernal water, coconut water and the raw milk also helped keep Electrolytes up. If I had to guess I probably eat 2500-3k calories a day and I'm only getting leaner as the time goes by. Anywho, perhaps it will work for someone else. Keep us updated if so!

Unfortunately, when cheese in the USA says "raw" most of the time it is not. Because they are allowed to call it raw even one degree bellow the minimum for pasteurizing which is 160 degrees Fahrenheit or 71.11 degrees Celsius. To fully benefit from raw, the 65 measure is not sufficient. Really raw is room temperature and that's when we get the most benefits and no allergies. I studied this one thoroughly.

Speaking from my own personal experience. You can easily lose weight by doing intermittent fasting and cutting out sugar and process food. If you want to lose a lot of weight fast, incorporate occasional workout into the routine + longer fast. People are afraid of intermittent fasting because they associate that with starvation. It's really not at all, your body is built to store fat as energy and fasting lets your body burn off those stored energy. There are so much info out there on fasting and how it triggers autophagy and the many benefits this can do. Everything I said is easier said than done, it takes discipline to really follow through. You just have to ask yourself, how bad do you want to lose weight?
