I can testify that this is total truth. I started implementing the animal based diet 2 months ago. I'm 47, 6'3" and was at 202 lbs. My goal was to get back to my high school weight of 185 lbs. Within a month and a half, I surpassed the goal of 185 and am currently at 176 and have abs. I haven't added any exercise other than a few pushups and planks each day. I am going to have to go down to a smaller waist size on my pants. I am much less hungry and feel like I'm eating like a king. I'm also in way less constant pain due to my inflammation dropping tremendously.

Great video Paul! I especially loved you rant about counting calories. Everyone thinks you can't gain muscle or lose fat without counting your calories and weighing every, single, miniscule portion of food but the reality is that its is still a relatively new concept that only came out around 50 years ago since the 50's with short films discussing calories and to eat whole foods instead. But people in the bodybuilding scene back during the 20's and 40's were able to both lose fat and gain muscle without such calculations and insanity that we see today. Follow your gut, and it will tell you how hungry it needs to be as long as you have the goal of either gaining muscle or losing fat in mind it worked for me and it can certainly work for everyone.

This is a great strategy for many reasons; high in protein and low margin of error, high satiety as well, technically one can lose body fat eating “packaged foods” however it is counterproductive because packaged foods have a 20% margin of error in both macro content and calories and tend to be “domonio” foods. Calories in & out does work, but Paul’s approach sets you up for success as it’s energy /nutrient dense foods .

Eat fruit, good quality fruit juice, good quality dairy pref raw, , eggs, small oily fish, meat and organs, animal fats, honey and bee pollen, butter.... Have a bit of rice, potato and good quality sourdough from time to time add in a bit of fermented vegetables and a few herbs and spices ohh and occasionally have vanilla hagan dazz (ray peat). I lost 16 lbs in 2.5 months eating unprocessed. I never counted a calorie and I ate until I was satisfied...not stuffed, but full. Foods I ate: all kinds of meat, eggs, fish, nuts/seeds, carrots, steamed potato twice a week, beans almost every day, greek yogurt, avocado, salad with home made tahini & ACV dressing, tomatoes/salsa, cucumbers, bell pepper, onion, garlic & hummus. That is the entire food list and I never got tired of my big colorful plates of food. BUT BUT BUT, I didn't lose the scar tissue in my hamstring (OUCH...SO PAINFUL) until I went keto/carnivore. Within just a few weeks my body consumed that scar tissue and it literally feels like a miracle. I couldn't touch my toes without sharp pain and now I just barely feel it. Surprisingly I haven't lost more than a couple lbs on keto. Maybe I'm eating too much LOL. I do often eat 2200 - 2800 calories!! And I'm 5'3"!! I weight 117 which is very slim...size 2. I don't want to lose more weight, but I do want to continue keto to hopefully give my body a chance to finish consuming that scar tissue.

Great video presentation. Dr. Paul knows how to present. Smiling eyes and a smiling face with a sincere and energetic tone of voice. Guy's having fun! Perfect. Slides are perfect too.

It’s true - seed oils, sugar, and artificial sweeteners can destroy your health. I am under 14% body fat and stay there consistently skipping breakfast, cutting carbs from lunch(eating simply meat with moderate fat and some vegetables) and eating clean carbs at dinner with meat and some vegetables and routinely walking and doing some light resistance exercises. I am not perfect however- sometimes seed oils or sugar are in my dinner - not by my choice. This is the reality of eating with other people. That being said, I try my best to stick to the principals of eating real food. For new topics, I would like to hear Dr. Paul Saladino’s opinions on rice and also fermented vegetables like kimchi and Natto. - to add, I only eat vegetables because I have found I go for several days without bowel movements without them. I don’t understand how those on super strict carnivore diets have regular bowel movements- because it has never worked for me.

Dude I had the same issue with carnivore, bowl movements slowed too much. Now that I eat fruit, no problems. As for "destroy your health" regarding seed oils and processed foods etc... it seems like you live a pretty healthy lifestyle overall. Having that stuff on occasion is probably ok, but at the same time nobody should pretend seed oils and processed foods are healthy or harmless. Those things should probably be held in moderation as we make intentional food choices ✌️

Nice job summarizing and simplifying the powerful lifestyle. It’s amazing how much better a person can feel with the right fuel. I’m really thankful for your ability to understand the science in a way that doesn’t come natural to me. Thank you!

So eating fruit & honey along with ribeye steak…. Wouldn’t there be a concern for increased insulin spike leading to increased fat storage?

I've been doing Carnivore since November, down 70lbs but a little more weight to go. Think I will work in some fruits and see how it goes.

Ive been going back and forth between carnivore and raw fruit! Both promise healing and rapid weight loss. No such luck. If I am insulin resistant, can I lose weight eating meat, fruit, honey? A ot of people have said this diet healed their gut, inflammation and their autoimmune illness too. This seems logical to me. When I was carnivore, I wasn't eating enough calories, but adding fruit would help with that.
