Simplest way to set preload in the rear with multi-link suspensions: 1. Lift car up. 2. Put a jack under the LCA and unbolt the bottom bolt of the shock. 3. Now adjust the jack up or down until there is no play in the height spring (the spring and perch) 5. When you get to the point with no play in the spring and perch, compress the spring with the jack about 1/4-1/2 inch. 4. With everything in place, adjust your shock until you can fit the bolt back through. That's where your preload should be at.

Hey Rudy, can you give me a play by play on how to adjust REAR ride height? Do I need to readjust preload each time I adjust ride height? Some ppl are saying no and others say yes. If you move the rear perch up or down, doesn't it mess with preload? Do I also have to readjust strut shock each time to make it reach the knuckle?

For this setup, you would need to adjust the spring perch to adjust the ride height. You would also need to adjust the shock every time to match the new ride height.

So if we raise the collar up which means less tread shown, we are lowering the car right?. Then if we lowering the car, we have to make the shock longer or shorter? Thank you in advance

You have to adjust the shock accordingly. So if you lower it more, you have to shorten the shock as well. The apposite applies if you lift it.

+d5291 Essentially the collar on the coilover spring will be on top. By lowering the collar so more threads show, it will raise the vehicle. If you raise the collar, you will begin lowering the vehicle. Keep in mind that you have to adjust the shock along with it as well. Since they are separate, the shock will have adjustment collars as well.

PRO Car Studio so then after you set your ride height and set it on the ground, from that point how do you adjust the preload? The fronts are easy to figure out but the tears are weird. How would you set the preload after you get your ride height? Or do you set the preload, then the height?

+Freddy Solis The struts are not sold separately on these coilovers. Most coilovers have to be sent in to be rebuild by the manufacturer.

how does the ring on the back spring works. would it rise if I lower the black ring or would the hight rise if I put the black right up.

+Alex Lopez When you lower the ring, it will raise the vehicle. When you raise the ring, it will lower it.

I maxed out the front coilovers and it's still not low enough, if I lower the preload will it go a little lower? I only need like 1 inch lower

+zRasko It is possible to get it a bit lower by tightening the preload. However, the ride may become harsher depending on how much more you tighten it.
