Just sucked up a small dust cloth with my BEAM. Looked in the dust bag...no cloth. No cloth at the exit line from the house to the BEAM vacuum unit.Took a RIGID shop vac and vacuumed every inlet port. (BTW you need to prop open the "Self Cleaning port" for this to be effective.) Ran a snake through the main vacuum hose-no blockage. So I connected the main vacuum hose to the Living Room port. Full vacuum. ALL 4 other ports had full vacuum. Any idea where the cloth might be? I am reluctant to have the system ingest a paper towel as some have suggested. It may block the entire system. Thanks.

Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

Hi Calvin. Please be assured that this is not an attempt at deception. The filter is self cleaning, but if the filter is shaken clean "manually" when emptying the bin, it removes any excess dirt still on the filter and this ensures continued high performance of your Beam system. This can be caused for example if the bin is overfilled with dust and debris. Hope this clarifies what the intention is.

Spaceman Rick Sometimes when I catch my dog laying down in front of it in the kitchen I turn it on and he does this amazing leap from whatever position he's laying down in. Recently he's gotten used to it and has retired his leaping show.

The only thing I don't like is the long hose, it's annoying because of it's length and because it coils a lot during use. I have to stop and uncoil it a few times during each run, the shorter hose doesn't coil as much which is better. My favorite thing about our system at home is the wet/dry capability and I've put that baby to use washing our rugs, tiles and whatnot and I love it. Btw, i didn't see the aqua-air wet/dry system, is it because this system doesn't have that option or is there another reason? Great video, thanks.

I believe you have a different type of vacuum system, not a Beam system. You'll need to check with your manufacturer for help on this.

You can cut off the the part that too long and use special ducktape and tape it again....

I LOVE how the filter is white in colour when she takes the bin off … it's like it was never used. Mine is full of lint and dust after every couple of cleanings. It is a bitch to take off and I have to use a face filter mask and take it outside to shake it into the trash bin. I wish it was just disposable as I think the cloth filter limits the suction on the system. It is constantly clogged with dust.

Been using the Beam central vacuum for many years. Emptied the dust cannister and somehow got the cannister locked into a position where I cannot remove the cannister. The cannister just fits loosely on the unit so I am unable to use the unit. The person I bought it from has not returned my phone calls.

Dear Carl, we are distributors in Ireland for Beam Central Vacuum Systems. We can try to help our local customers by phone but your local company who supplied your system should be able to help you. However, you can try the following:  Remove the plug from the power socket;  Remove the dirt receptacle from the power unit and clean the filter;  Run your hand around the inside rim of the power unit until you find the cloth ring pull in the centre of the power unit and pull downwards; At the same time, the filter will fall from it’s recess in the power unit body;  When fitting a new filter, the joint in the metal ring in the filter is fitted on top of the foam insert in the unit body filter recess, usually to the back of the body of the power unit;  Grasp the ring in one hand.  Place the metal rim of the filter back into location, ensuring clothside of filter is facing motor, and nylon shiny side is facing outwards.  Push the ring of the filter into the recess around the power unit. The last piece of the ring will need to be forced into place, by tapping in with a hammer. Test the filter is fitted correctly by catching the filter cloth and pulling downwards - it should not move.  Put the dirt receptacle back on and switch the power back on.

I recently purchases a Beam vacuumsystem and installed it to replace the old system. I installed the receptacle and closed it shut. Now I am to clean the bin and cannot take it off the main body of unit. Any secret???
