this video show you how to make hifi 2way Horn Speaker Crossover based on 8ohm drivers with Lpad for Hf level control.
this diy crossover suitable for home use.
please follow the instructions for good results.
the test is based on :
- jbl 2426H 8ohm horn driver
- jbl 2235H 8ohm midwoofer
- sonos zoneplayer Zp120 (network streamer Amplifier)

yes it will come, but first my followers need to know some basic notions of filters. normally the TS parameters of the drivers are given by the manufacturers, if not for the old drivers there are devices that do this calculation like dayton audio ts calculator and many others.

How much does this differ from just using the built in crossover in that JBL Cinema Cabinet ? It crosses at 1khz ? Obviously you used much better components and extra features like the pad, but, just curious if the sound would be that dramatically different.

Curious....I did this with radio shack stuff so it was small enough to tuck in the speaker cavity. Why so heavy duty with the components? Mine lasted for years.

No, because the drivers voice coils are on the same vertical axis, and the cross for both of them is on second order.

Could this work for JBL 2245H drivers, and Altec 811b horns with 902-8B drivers?

no, because your horns are designed to play sound from 800hz, the crossover on video plays hf from 1.2khz. it's rcommended for you to make 2 way 800hz crossover like jbl N4660 crossover it can work well for your drivers, bcause N4660 is a 2 way 800hz crossover for 8 ohm drivers. look at this link it can help you ; www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?5629-Cross-over-schematics-for-the-4660

In quel Crossover non indica lo sfasamento del TW. Uno che non sa non pensa che il positivo e negativo del TW sono invertiti.

in questo crossover i due filtri sono entrambi 12db/ottava, quindi il tweeter e il woofer sono in fase purché le loro bobine verticali siano fisicamente sulla stessa linea, quindi non c'è bisogno di invertire la polarità del tweeter.

@@homemade_audio se lo dice lei, per l'appunto sono entrambe a 12 db per ottava a 1000hz il quale non si sa quanto sale oltre i 1000hz il passa basso ed a quanti hz. Parte il Tw. Secondo il mio parere va sfasato anche se sono sullo stesso asse.

Some Altec lansing horn driver share the same diaphragm as jbl. If your driver is 8ohm try this one. . Nb: always make your crossover project with old parts recovered from crossover until you get satisfied results then by new parts.
