For that last hole punch, have you tried putting a head pin through the first set to keep them lined up instead of trying to hold them lined up? Very pretty bracelet and easy to follow instructions. Have you made these with other shape beads?

Susan, love love this bracelet design. And so appropriately done right after Keiu’s book presentation on JTV this week. I have some questions on the tools. Bracelet Mandrel. I’ve been looking for a good price steel one, but I wanted one that has measurements in it. I can’t find them, same w ring mandrel. Do they make steel ones w the measurements etched on them? Thanks!

So glad you enjoyed the video! There are LOTS of options available online. It depends on exactly what you're looking for but if you google 'Etched Bracelet Mandrel' you will find lots of great options!

Hi Susan and all. I’m just loving this project! I have a little problem. I didn’t start with enough wire to complete my bangle. Please tell me how to add more wire. Thank you.
@JewelSchool
@JewelSchool Жыл бұрын
Oh no! It would be really hard to do. If you used a .925 sterling, karat gold or bare copper, you might be able to solder a longer piece on to it. However, if you used a plated flat wire, soldering it would melt it. Plated flat wire is not super expensive, so your best bet is to start again with a new, longer piece. If you're wondering what to do with the discarded piece of flat wire you already started the bangle with, well, you could use it to make a couple of rings! Also a good rule of thumb is to measure your closed fist. This will tell you how much wire you need for it to fit over your hand. Hope this helps!

We’ll, Susan, I just twisted new wire on and kept going. Doesn’t look so bad. I’m on my second one. I cut off 3 ft and it’s still not enough. Next bracelet, size 8, will cut off 4 ft wire. That should do it😊

Is that 5mm wire dead soft? hardened? What alternatives can we use if we don't want to spend the high dollar from JTV? I personally like to experiment first before going high $$ on crafts :)

This is the kit I use and it's a great value for the wire! You can actually make over 30 bangles with this kit (and I think you'll want to after you get the hang of it!!) -- www.jtv.com/product/artistic-wire-flat-21-gauge-appx-3mm-5mm-in-assorted-colors-set-of-10-appx-3-feet-in-length-each/JSKIT0885?mcid=XSOjsyt

I'm looking at files on amazon and there are zillions. What is the file you are using, please? I've ordered some of this wire. The only "files" I currently have are emery boards. I don't suppose they would work for something like this? Help!

You can actually use any file, including your emery boards/nail-care files. A lot of metalsmiths use files created for the beauty industry. Just make sure it's sturdy!
