Beautiful work. It's rare that you see a DIY video finish with something looking professional. Beautifully shot video as well; no nonsense, tasteful cuts (especially on the welding) kept the pace engaging while still showing enough to communicate what was happening. Really great!

I built a similar solution for my tungsten grinding, just bolted a diamond wheel straight to the stone. But I put in a pipe straight out from the axle to connect the shop vac.

I've got a big 2x72 grinder but I keep feeling myself being drawn to something like this. The big beast is a great machine; dead stable and absolutely slays metal but it is BIG, loud and it's hard to justify using it just to bevel 3" of a small part.

MEH... (most excellent hybrid) I want to dig into your machinist's mind and copy all those designs but... Anyone can do it if only, anyone had the passion and diversified skills and imagination... And anyone should take and absorb the inspiration and create their own designs, you know, be original, like you. THAT is what makes building something so very satisfying. Thank you for your dedication and for sharing your MEH... Most Excellent Hybrid ideas. Amazing contraption and excellent video work. And thank you for not blasting our ears with silly music... I mean, yeah, its nice work and a good design. Problem is Step One: Buy thousands of dollars of equipment. Step Two: Fabricate belt sander attachment that only costs $150-250 on Eastwood's website. Depending on if you want a big wheel version or not. Then this begs the question, if you can afford all the equipment that you have, why not just buy the attachment? If you work for a shop, it costs them more to pay you to make this than it would to just buy one.
