@@coreytibbs it would double the orginal size of the block. A bigger block would help a larger quilt come together faster than the small blocks made from a 5" square.

@@coreytibbs almost, but not exactly. if you just doubled each cut piece, you would be doubling your seam allowance, which you don't want. so when you want to double the size of a pattern, you double each CUT piece and then SUBTRACT 1/2" on each side-- so you're not also doubling your seam allowance of 1/4" all the way around. also, when i see an already-made quilt i want to copy, i measure the size of each FINISHED piece in the quilt block, and then ADD 1/2" to each side to account for the seam allowances.

You could cut a 10 inch square just like the charm square. The change would be the size of the half triangle rectangle. That’s he hard part. I would have to get out my graph paper, but this is a genius pattern! Natalie, you Rock!

Jenny, you must be, so proud of your Natalie. She’s awesome. I have a daughter like her and we have so much fun. For my 80th birthday, she made up kits and sent to my kids, grandkids and a great granddaughter. They all made blocks, male and female alike and I have the most beautiful keepsake.

Natalie , I love that you used Lori Holts fabric line because it is so happy to me. Being a depressive person her line of fabrics makes me happy so im very fond of it. This will be the PERFECT block for me remaking the ONLY quilt that my grandmother ever made. My mom gave it to me a few years ago and I intended on just repairing it until I got it in my hands 🙃 it was a mess… I had to take it apart. I’ve squared up each piece of fabric and they range from 6 1/2” to 2”… perfect for this pattern!!! My ❤ is so happy that I finally have the perfect block to honor the love of my grandma!!! I’m loving this !!!!! First I think a long bed accent pillow do w with charms and then a layer cake version for the bed ! love how you can't see the lines where one block ends and another begins- a quilt with no block lines is like an outfit with no panty lines- aesthetically pleasing 😁. gonna double the block size and make this one with a layer cake, cuz in my older age, i no longer do tiny quilt pieces- or tiny panties 😁.
