Hi There, thank you thats nice of you to say. the burley springs do work very well especially the larger ones packed with pilchard for salmon fishing, Snapper etc wherever you are using pilchard for bait, the burley is very good hope you are impressed tight lines to you, also learn how to catch beach worms if you don't now how.

Recently I made some of your berley cages and fished with your recommended paternoster rig west of Ceduna. I used squashed squid for bait and put salted pilchards in the burley sinker. Hi David, will be trying these for sure. I make a little jewelry as a hobby, so I have idea's to make it even easier. I have revamped an old KZbin channel that I had for metal detecting, jewelry, gold prospecting and other hobbies. A small burley spring will be best under a float with my burley down there also tide running out towards wirrina is the best side for gar and tommies, squid can be caught any where on the jetty and the rocks are good for everything, snook can also be caught from the jetty and rocks there maybe yellowfin whiting of the beach also mullet. Have a look at the rock archway to the right of the beach its nice along there.

hi Darren my fave lures are the magnet weighted hard bodied shallow dive in pilchard or mackerel pattern around 5cm long they cast really well on light tackle soft plastics also work well and use a slow retrieve when the sun is low in the sky is snook time. good fishing mate.

G'day Garry. Good idea on the burly springs mate. All the best on your fishing holiday, there is a camp site and caravan site on the way down to Cape Jervis and some good fishing down at the jetty and Morgans beach its shallow rocky in parts but good for salmon late afternoon and early morning sometimes. There is also a place at Normanville not far away. Heading south towards Victor Harbour there are 2 beaches Waitpinga beach and parsons at the back of Waitpinga beach there is a camp site you may like that one, nice and quiet and in the bush check out my uther vids. Hi Tristan, no worries happy to help. Earth worms aren't the best but MIGHT catch a few yellow fins if there are a lot of fish competing for food plus it would be best to keep your bait moving all the time. My advise would be find a beach down your way where there are beach worms before summer, that can be part of learning to find them , and when the weather starts warming start learning how to catch them. In the winter time your fingers will get cold and make it harder to learn. Also buy a bait pump and pump any holes in the sand and sand shaped like tooth paste next to holes and you might find some pink nippers [ bass yabbies]or other species of worms, around low tide reefy areas are good to look. Plus looking under rotting sea weed at the high tide line you may find some sea weed worms they are similar to earth worms. Hope this helps all the best to you and your dad.

Hi Davo, sorry late reply. You might be able to find the small brass burley springs at the shop they are good for bread crumb burley, these ones being a bit bigger arn't available so we have to make them they are great for squeezing pilchard into. The centre wire will be fine with a bigger fish on if you like when you make them you could firmly squeeze the wire around the centre wire just to give yourself a bit more confidence with a bigger fish on but it should be fine. Hi Hanoi. With a paternoster fishing rig you can fix you burley spring and sinker on the bottom without a swivel if you like, but I would recommend having a swivel above your hooks to reduce line twist. I use the cheaper brass swivels and they have never let me down.

G'day mate, my favourite hook using worms for Yellowfin Whiting is the Mustad Aberdeen Pro select size 6 or the Mustad Baitholder fine worm size 6. These hooks for me have been a good all round hook catching a range of different species. Some different makes of hooks vary in size when they are suppose to be the same size, this size 6 by Mustad is my preferred hook.

A fishing burley spring it helps to attract fish to your fishing area, you attach it to your sinker and have your baited hooks above, you squeeze burley into it and cast it out, they do work good. if you like watch one of my beach fishing videos and you will see it being used. Cheers.
