For anyone actually making this yourself, you will need to add an extra (30inch) 1x8 for the bottom piece under the 1 3/4 holes. Other than that. Great video. It came out great.

it is nice to see you using so much care on the table saw there are some other Woodworkers out that just make me cringe when they turn on the table saw. this is another great project well done and I'm with you I don't like the green streaks neither. have you thought about making table saw sled ?

Nice build but idk how the stained poplar will turn out. Usually poplar doesn't take stain very well and it's only good for painting. Did y'all discuss this prior to the build?

Fantastic design! I am thinking of making something like this for me and my two kids but trying to come up with an idea that i corporates couple of much shorter kids size rods too so my youngest doesn't feel left alone. Any suggestions?

Those hole saws can be a pain, but great if you need to keep the "hole" :)... otherwise I try to use forstner bits or spade bits, if I can.
